This is a cool little place with multiple dining options around the small courtyard area. It's a smaller version of similar establishments in San Francisco and Tampa that I enjoy going to when with friends so everyone has options. I had a pepperoni pizza from one place (which was awesome) and churros for dessert (also fantastic) from a different place. I'd like to sample some other stuff next time I'm there. read more

Another cool concept in Phoenix! The Churchill is located in the art district & you absolutely can't miss it as it was created out of large shipping containers. The location is basically an artsy courtyard with different food options & shops - One place to eat that my Fiancé enjoyed was Stoop Kid. I met some fabulous bartenders at The Brill Line bar. They crafted up some fantastic cocktails, my favorite being Freddy's Lil Prick (a hibiscus, prickly pear mule). I would love to visit this location at dusk to experience thenightlife vibe! read more

This is such a cool spot. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a cold beer or a yoga session. Churchill has it all. Better yet they always promote local artists and small vendors. The Churchill is home to 10 local business which encourage collaboration over competition. On the weekends you'll always find a DJ spinning some good tunes. They have plenty of food choices and drinks to choose from. On Saturdays they do donated based yoga. What a cool place! It's a collective of restaurants and bars and common area to sit. I only visited Pobrecito. They had awesome craft cocktails! Very very delicious! They're strong as well! I'd love to return here next time when I'm around. Apparently the beer bar has a ton of good craft beer selections. Street parking is available with meter. What an interesting space. There's a couple of bars, a pizza place, mexican cuisine, a sandwich place, an Arizona shop, a Mexican shop, and a smoothie place. Each business is made of a shipping container. I can appreciate repurposing. The East Desoto parking lot (also the church lot) can now be used for The Churchill customers. I do miss Desoto Marketplace but I am glad The Churchill is here. It's not fully enclosed, there's just a roof. Positive: you can still breathe in some fresh air which is nice. Negative: when the weather is rough maybe this is not the best spot. I like how versatile it is, it can work for date night with its bars and corn hole, but it can also work for a lunch meeting, it can be a study spot, or work for a family gathering get together. There's a lot of seating, and there is complimentary water. read more

I do wish however they did have more food vendors, maybe like an asian spot serving bubble tea or bao buns/skewer sticks ( Some sort of street food). We were downtown for an event at The Monorchid so we had to come check this out! We (my husband and I) love it! There is so much room for activities! (Stepbrothers anyone?) This is a great spot to bring friends visiting from out of town, large groups, a supper and drinks stop before a sporting event or concert downtown. Pre Covid this was a great spot. Five stars, food, tacos, beers and ciders at the bar. Lovely open atmosphere is a delight in the Sonoran desert's mild weather. Post shut down I don't know. But if it's still going it's a GREAT PLACE for Spring enjoyment. Everyone can go grab from variety of food vendors and go sit down in the middle anywhere you want. Or grab your food and go sit at the brewery. before that brewery I never really enjoyed beer beer, but a friend of mine ordered some options and I was able to expand my palate a little bit. Food: This is essentially your modern food court - none of those cookie-cutter fast-food restaurants though. They've got a pizza spot, Mexican food, sandwiches, etc. There are several cocktail bars, where you can sit at their counter, or take the drinks to the main seating area. Atmosphere: This is like a covered, outdoor market! A really fun atmosphere with heaters and blankets in the winter. The Churchill has been on my Yelp to-do list for quite sometime now and I was finally able to check it off over the weekend. We had family in town for ASU family weekend and we all went to the ASU-USC game. Love it when games end close to dinner time so we can continue the good times and conversation. Since we had taken the light rail to the game from North Phoenix and The Churchill is only a short, one-block walk from the Central/Roosevelt stop, we decided to meet up here. Love the Vibe of the Churchill. There was a DJ and a dance-off contest going on, lots of conversation, and of course, excellent choices of eateries. I tried a new Gin with my tonic from the well stocked bar and then ordered a spicy chicken sandwich from Commander Hamburger. Service was top-notch, food was wonderful. Chicken was fired to perfection, slaw on top was flavorful and the tots, well damnit-who doesn't love tots?!Princess order a margarita from Freak Brothers and it was delicious also. Both of these places offered either a buzzer or text message so you can mingle and then return to get your food when its ready. There is a great balcony that lets you get a quieter area if you want to have more of an intimate conversation but still see all of the lively action in the courtyard. The food options were fun and good, and I liked the activities. I enjoyed playing cornhole with friends. My biggest complaint is that it's too loud on a Friday night. The wait for food wasn't exactly short, but it was reasonable. The problem is not being able to hear people enough to have a conversation during that time. I wouldn't recommend it for a date spot or getting to know anyone better, but it's a fun place to go out if you're into the bustle. read more

I've been to The Churchill a few times and it's typically a great experience. My most recent visit was on a Saturday night and WOW this place was packed. It was a bit of a struggle to find a place to sit, but it was still a good experience nonetheless. One thing about this place--it changes quite a bit from daytime to nighttime, which I think adds to the appeal. In the past, I've walked over to The Churchill during the day for smoothies, games and to visit the cute boutiques that they have in the area. This was my first time going at night, and it's nightlife is just as great if not better than it's daytime appeal. On this most recent visit, I tried the pizza place and really enjoyed it. A group sitting next to us had ordered tacos from the Mexican place and the food smelled absolutely amazing--definitely trying that first next time. A friend of mine ordered a cocktail at one of the cocktail bars and really enjoyed her drink as well. If you're in the downtown Phoenix area and looking for some great food and drinks, The Churchill is definitely the place to check out! read more

Came here during first Friday so I think it was more crowded than usual. I loved the artwork graffiti on the outside. I saw peeps snapping pix--probably for Instagram. There is a security guy to check your ID and then you walk in to what l would describe as like an open airport hanger (think tons of open space) with restaurants and bars all on the perimeter and then a bunch of picnic tables in the center with musical instruments setup for a live band. I was so excited! I walked around and saw a fruit and açaí place but they were closing for the night:( A pizza place. A taco place? A place that said cocktails. I zoomed over there lol. It was busy, but not the side I was on. This bartender was super slow. You know how most places that are busy have a sense of urgency of making current drinks while taking next order to keep things moving? This guy did not have that lol. Anyways, I ordered the bees knee and asked what kind of gin was used. I think he said forest? Never heard of it and asked if it was good and he said yes. Meh. The drink was only $7 so whatever. Someone got a cheese pizza and was nice enough to let me try a piece. It was okay. It tasted smokey to me. Flavor was off for me and I'm glad I didn't order a whole pizza. They really should consider selling pizza by the slice. Live band was really good and fun. I will definitely come back to try all the other places. read more

In case you wondered, yes they are air-conditioned, making shopping in each little charming venue an absolute pleasure. Common central courtyard is a great place to eat or just sit and people watch. a fun place to go hang out now that the weathers cooler and walking around the shops is more pleasurable. A super rad spot! I am still (and forever) upset about the closing of Desoto Market, but the Churchill helps fill the hole in my heart a little bit. I love the idea of a bunch of different food and drink options, and the space itself is pretty dang cool. There's a little something for everyone, so no fear if you've got picky friends in your group. There are a bunch of tables--picnic tables, couches with shorter tables, and dining tables that can be separated. Plenty of options for everyone. I was a little worried about the parking situation, but it ended up being not too bad at all for me on a Saturday night. There is plenty of meter parking around if you don't mind walking just a little bit. It was poppin' at 8pm, as probably expected for the weekend. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, and she had messaged management to reserve a couple tables in advance. When we arrived, there didn't appear to be any reserved tables. But after a quick conversation with an employee, it all got figured out pretty quickly. It is a little odd to me that they don't have any sort of like host stand or anything to that degree, and it was a little bit hard to tell who works here. It was really nice out when we were here in the evening in April, but I do have some concerns about when it hits actual summer in Phoenix. Guess we'll just have to see! read more
