We recently hired Zapata Catering for my 76th birthday party. We had actually used them several years before for another 50+person backyard event, and decided to try them again as we were so very satisfied the first time. I contacted Paola from Zapata Catering via text as I had year's prior. And she quickly responded to my text with a detailed description of their menu offerings and with prices of her services. Throughout the process of determining how many people would attend our event, Paola was totally responsive to our texts and would promptly address any concerns we might have had. I really appreciated that. Additionally, I also truly appreciated her warm personality, the friendliness with our guests, her professionalism (arriving on time, the excellent service and cleanup) and kindness as well as the delicious Mexican food for my guests. Everyone enjoyed her service, the quality and serving size of food and the flexibility in making quesadillas, bacon wrapped hotdogs with grilled onions etc. She was assisted by her adult son who demonstrated the same professionalism. Her prices are fair and her "all you can eat" menu based on the number of guests make for an obvious choice for a great backyard event in which someone else does the preparation, cooking and clean up. And she was on time, her set up and meal preparation was about 45-50 minutes, and they both served our guests for 2 hours. And all the comments from our guests were extremely positive. This is now the second time we've used Zapatas and I was worried because the first time was a fantastic experience. This time they hit a home run again!! Fast, easy, and friendly coordination to get our event booked. The party was planned around then and they showed up on time for set up and food was ready and being served at exactly the time we requested it. And the food!!! In today's market where good meat is hard to find they came through!! We had their Carne Asada, chicken, and barbacoa and all 3 were high quality and cooked perfectly!!! The girls were friendly and treated all of our guests like they were each a VIP. I love that they do the bacon hot dogs and quesadillas if you provide cheese as this let us offer our guests a wide range of choices and made sure we had something for everyone. Oh and can't forget about the rice and beans both were great and I'm not even a huge rice fan. The topping bar they set us was great and had all the extras that everyone could want. Paola provided excellent communication leading up to our event (Jan 13, 2024). They arrived early to set up and started serving our guests according to the time we stated we wanted to serve our guests, which was about 40 people. All our friends commented on how delicious the tacos were, as well as the selection they got to choose from. Their set up didnt take up much space but was large enough to have space for their condiments and cooking area. The selection of food was chicken, pastor, care asada, bacon wrapped hot dogs, and even cheese quesadillas (we provided the cheese). The pricing was very reasonable compared to others we called, but we liked Paola's demeanor on the phone and the way she didn't make us feel like they were the only ones available for our party. I found them on Yelp and was immediately set on their bacon wrapped hot dogs and barbacoa meat, which by the way most taco catering services don't offer. Let me start off by saying their food is incredibly good. The meats are delicious! They're not dry and have tons of flavor. Their chips and salsa, rice and beans are also good. We've gone through a few taco caters and Zapata's is by far our favorite. We did have a mix up for on of our events. They accidentally brought one of the wrong meats. At first we were a little upset, but again because their meats are very flavorful it wasn't that big of a deal since everyone loved the tacos.
