I want to like this place bc they have great service and ambiance but lack in seasoned food. I was here with a group of 6 people on the Friday evening. Parking was easy to find in the shared lot. We were seated right away and were given chips and dip for the table. We ordered a kids Mac, kids tenders, a southwest chicken wrap, veg pesto panini, chilli paneer flatbread and the chipotle chicken panini. The food came out in an average amount of time and looked really good. Here comes my reasoning for 3 stars..the food had virtually no flavor. It didn't taste like they use season when cooking the food. I would easily give them 5 stars if the food had seasoning. I like the feel of the Lodge when you first walk in it is welcoming and open. I hardly had to wait to be attended to and the servers are attentive. The ambiance is nice depending on the day you visit. It is just me be I like the Big Bear that is near the door. Now as for the food the options are there, wings, sandwiches, ribs, and burgers. I liked everything I had but it did not wow me. The Clarks Lodge food is better tasting other places I have tried but honestly it was just satisfying. The drinks did there job and I was happy with the pricing. I will continue to go because overall it is a nice out of the way place that is well balanced. I'm kind of torn between 3 and 4 stars. It's really a 3.5, but Yelp... well, anyway... Here's the thing. The food is only OK at best. It's fine, it's not amazing, but it's not bad by any stretch. I had the grilled chicken salad, but the chicken was cubed and, possibly because of this option, it was very dry. It was under-seasoned as well. The rest of the salad was nice and fresh, though, and no one else seemed to have any complaints. I liked that, instead of bread, they had house-made kettle chips for enjoying. We were here with a party of 9 for a birthday. They did a great job as a team of ensuring we got our food, drink refills, and anything else we needed. Service gets a five-star rating for sure! The décor was pretty awesome, if I'm being honest! I loved the carved wooden animals outside, and the lodge theming inside. They had some animal motifs here as well, like antler chandeliers and a giant bear statue. There is a line of booths along the window wall that looked like ski lift chairs! Very neat touch! So, I want to stress, the theming here is well worth the visit! And who knows, maybe my meal just wasn't up to par that day. It wasn't so bad I had to send it back, it was just... very underwhelming. Supposedly the ribs here are incredible, and the handhelds seemed to be a good choice for those who ordered them. I'd definitely try this place again. The Clarks Lodge is very similar to one of our favorite spots for happy hour in Kentlands, but a lot closer to us. So we have stopped by a few times to sit at the bar and enjoy the happy hour menu. They have pretty good options for food and drinks. The crushes are good, but after one I'm ready to stick to something simple. We also tend to order some finger foods, like Brussels sprouts and the egg rolls, which are pretty good. Last time we ordered wings and I wasn't really a fan. The bartenders are really nice. One in particular was hilarious, but I cant remember his name unfortunately. Next I go back, ill be sure to ask again and give him props for his amazing and attentive service. We also enjoy the live bands that play here, which varies each week. I also really like the decor and set up. Lots of outdoorsy type decor, and some of the seats in the dining area look like ski lifts. Pretty cool. Overall, good local spot to check out, especially if you're looking for a close by happy hour option. read more

Decorated like a posh mountain lodge, it would be easy to write this place off as kitsch. But I loved it! We sat in one of the windows and I had a little daydream of making the bench a limited-range swing, though I'm sure that would be dangerous once food is involved. What we got: Butter chicken with rice - 3* one of the reviews I read said the Indian food here was good so I had to give it a try. You never know when a restaurant could have a secret specialty. Unfortunately that review was a bust. The Indian food was mediocre. I didn't dislike it but I wouldn't order Indian food here in the future and feel rather silly for trusting that thought despite being game to try these kinds of leads. The lunch special said each dish comes with fries and choice of house or Caesar salad. The fries were never delivered with my order but after tasting my partners I didn't think I was missing out on much. It was a discrepancy that I noticed and thought was worth sharing. Hickory Burger - 4* it wasn't medium rare like asked but it had good flavor. Despite looking small it is surprisingly filling and my partner ended up packing up half to eat later. Tuesday 11/19/2024 This spot was initially brought a to my attention few months ago by a friend at the gym. I spent $67.84 for a pick up order and got a few recommendations from my friend and a few popular items. I got the Clark's family platter $22, brussel sprouts $10, hickory burger (medium) $16, and the butter chicken flatbread $16. While picking up the food I experienced pretty good customer service and the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Also you get a nice bag for takeout. - Clark's family platter comes with 4x wings (I got bbq), 4x egg rolls, 4x quesadillas, and 4x shrimp which is pretty good value and it was my favorite. Everything was pretty good and I'd give it an 8.4/10 as a whole. - Brussels sprouts (6.5/10) were one of my friends top recommendations but they're were just alright and for $10 I definitely wouldn't get them again. - The hickory burger (7.3/10) was solid but tasted a lot better with their bbq sauce. Also the Fries were aright but could've been better with seasoning. - The butter chicken flatbread bread (7.7/10) comes with 6 mini slices and it was decent. It's not the best butter chicken I've had but it's decent and I enjoyed the concept. Overall, Clark's lodge really impressed me. My top recommendation would be the Clark's sampler platter as you get a bit of everything for a fair price. read more

Time for yet another mostly positive review again, may get around to a negative review next depending on my timing now. I was here with my girlfriend & our 4 friends (2 couples) for a TRIPLE date! We were at the Owl Moon Fest out at Black Hills Regional Park on Saturday, 11/9. One of the friends lives in Clarksburg, so she knows this place well and likes it when her & her boyfriend (now fiancée) have gone. When my girlfriend & I walked in, we were greeted with a Lodge feel, which I thought was cool with moosehead, wood paneling, etc. We were a bit ahead of the friends. I went to use the restroom, which was nicely decorated & clean. Once I came out, the 6 of us were being seated. The menu had a wide variety. I ended up with butter chicken. My gut said the Indian would be good here, which I was right. It was on par with a solid Indian restaurant. Initially, I was going to get the fish & chips, but my girlfriend got, so I decided to go for the variety. Although the fish & chips were good from what I tried, mine was better. I felt the fish was a bit salty. She acknowledged she liked my dish a little better too. The one negative was the server wasn't friendly, he got closer to 15% instead of 20% or possibly more percent. It largely didn't detract from the experience here, and I would possibly come back here if I was in Clarksburg. Maybe, I'd get a burger or sandwich next time. He answered people's questions, but seemed annoyed particularly with my one friend. Overall, it was pretty solid in spite of a couple of negatives. read more

With us being the only table I thought she would be more attentive to us but she wasn't. She came to take our order, bring out the food, and collect the payment. Didn't come to refill our complimentary chips or ask how the food was or anything. The food was alright. It was priced fairly but it was bland. Good thing they had salt and pepper on the table. The inside was nice, they had a lot of fake animals around the restaurant and had some window seating areas which was pretty cool. We had the Rueben, which was a good sandwhich and I enjoyed it. The other order was the 12 oz Ribeye (medium rare) at $34 and it came out looking very thin more like a sirloin. It came with vegtables and mashed potatoes. It did not come out hot and the sides were warm at best. It lacked in flavor and was tough. Unfortunately, I do not recommend ordering the Ribeye. The waitress was very nice, but could not tell us how the Ribeye was spiced or prepared. I recommend Clarks Lodge as a great neighborhood restaurant with very nice staff and management. I can only say that the menu needs a little work with flavouring the food. I am rooting for this place to rise to the occassion. read more

We came for happy hour (M-F 4-6:30pm) on a weekday. Our bartender Sam was super friendly, and attentive. We got the lodge margarita, and wings (lemon pepper). The drinks were good. The wings were decent size, however there was not much lemon pepper flavor. I wouldn't have guessed it was lemon pepper flavored wings. It would be nice if the happy hour also applied to the outdoor patio, as it could get busy on the patio, especially during the summer days. There are several TVs so could be a good place to watch a sports game at the bar. read more

Went in there for an early lunch on a weekday. The interior really leans in to the ski lodge feel but it isn't to the point of being overwhelmingly tacky. Seats are pretty comfy and they have pillows on the long benches which I suppose is a cozy addition until you think about how many people roll through and get food and stuff on them. They didn't appear filthy so I digress. Had a host waiting tables but it didn't slow service down that much. It did take longer to get the order in and get drinks because of it. I understand it's a fine balance to have to pay a dedicated host when the place isn't packed and you just opened for the day. The appetizer salad was definitely an appetizer size so if you are looking for it to scratch an itch, cool but don't expect it to take the edge off and allow you to get a smaller dinner. The BBQ burger though was awesome. Stacked high and fresh burger set with decent size patty. The bun was perfect toasted so top marks there. I was definitely thrown by the presence of American traditional and Indian fare on the same menu but maybe it's a simple case of the owners demonstrating their range or an appeal to local demographics. I'm not sure. I Didn't get any mixed drink or beer so I can't help you there but they do have a set up for large bar service and outdoor patio. Overall, it was a good experience despite starting slow. They had food runners so it moved after order was in and drinks were dropped off. I would go again. It's in a shopping plaza next to Harris Teeter so parking wasn't an issue. read more

Have had their appetizers a handful of times but we typically come in the later evening when the kitchen is nearing its close. Regardless of this the staff are always so friendly. The bartenders are good at communicating and welcome us with a smile every time. We love the drinks here; always top-notch. If you come at certain times they'll often have live music which can really change the vibe depending on the day. I personally enjoy it a lot, there's not a lot of other places in the area that can compare. One day we'll try their entrees and I bet they'll be equally as delightful. read more

First time here after the former tenant, Grill Marx, closed its doors. It was a soft opening and the place was filling fast for happy hour! It is essentially the only true neighborhood restaurant located central to Arora Hills. See the pictures: everything tasted great. My salad was to go. Remember they are in the soft opening stage so pack your patience. If you don't have patience then come another day. They will fair very well from what I see. The management is hands on and came to ask if everything was ok. Our server was very patient and her customer service was on point. The team bringing out the food were also professional and on point as they too learned the ropes. If you come in, TIP YOUR SERVER!! Next time we will order from the dinner menu and provide feedback! We ordered appetizers, salads, wraps, and entrees - so a little of everything. * Cream of crab- not your typical soup but still delicious. Do not expect to be cream of crab. * Clarks Quesadillas- solid * southwest eggrolls- good * crab dip- delicious especially the Baguette for dipping- could use a few more pieces. * Asian zing wings- something different but good * boneless Buffalo- we did not enjoy this. * southwest chicken wrap- good even as leftovers * lodge salad - good amount of chicken and lettuce but I would have liked more of other ingredients * garlic shrimp- delicious. The band called OMG is so off key, we can't even identify the song. We should have listened to the people that we met at the door saying dont come in because of the band sounding awful. This place has really great decor! When you sit down at your table, instead of bringing bread, they bring you a plate of house-made potato chips. They're delicious! We had a late lunch here; I had the Greek salad and my friend had the caprese salad. I've heard good things about the butter chicken flat bread, so decided to come by to check it out! My wife and I arrived around 8pm, and were greeted by the host upon entry. I noticed there was a game going on at the bar, with a small crowd, however the dining area was empty. We were promptly seated at our table by the window. Knowing I wanted the butter chicken flat bread, and my wife was ready to order the south western wrap, we were ready to order! Or so we thought. No one had came to our table, at all. Even with an empty dining room. Eventually the table next to us had two guys that were apparently smoking outside, return to their table to resume their dinner. Approximately 10 minutes later, a server came towards our direction. I flagged him down, but he served the other table first. Eventually he walked away without even attending to us. We had to finally approach the hostess and ask for our server. Eventually the server finally arrived, and noticed we didn't even have our water! He returned with water and chips, and finally took our order. When the food came out, I was pleasantly surprised with the flat bread. The south western wrap was a simple wrap, with a bit of extra onions. Throughout the entire meal, our server did not check in on us once. We had zero water refills. I eventually asked a busboy nearby for the check, so he had to hunt down our server too. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, but the service was terrible. Upon exitting the restaurant, I had to walk by a group of smokers as well. Including a few of the restaurant staff. I guess that's where they were! read more

I discovered the first lodge a while back on a self care day and this one is just as nice but in Clarksburg! I got the fish and chips, classic Rueben lunch specials - you get a lot for $16... both come with the main, fries, and a salad. The house salad is preferred over Caesar. We came on their first Wednesday international buffet night (every Wednesday from 4:30-9:30 pm for $25.99). We were greeted immediately by the owner/manager, sat at a table, and provided water and chips. The international buffet included Indian, Chinese, American, and Mexican food.
