Came to Classic Cup Cafe for breakfast one morning to meet up with a few friends. The restaurant was clean, and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and checked on us regularly without being overbearing. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with fresh fruit instead of fries. It was good overall, but I would have liked a little more sausage--the dish had much more gravy than sausage. The biscuit was also a bit dense and not as light and fluffy as I personally prefer. One thing I did notice is that the portions are very generous. Looking around the table, everyone else's meals were quite large as well. While my breakfast didn't quite have the "wow" factor I was hoping for, I enjoyed the experience overall and would definitely give Classic Cup Cafe another try. There's plenty more on the menu I'd like to sample. read more

I had a delicious brunch here with a friend, on an unseasonable for a March day. We opted to sit out on the back patio, which was a nice option. Our server, George, was attentive and engaging. The food was delicious. I ate a veggie omelette and subbed the eggs for egg whites and the side of potatoes for a side of grits. The food was perfectly seasoned. For funsies, I had the coconut espresso martini--which was perfection--and a crème brûlée, that was just okay. This is a true KC gem on the Country Club plaza!! We went in for a weekend brunch and sat at the bar. My wife loved her Mimosa and she also had a breakfast bowl which she enjoyed. I absolutely love their Cup Club sandwich and get that nine times out of ten. The chips are a good addition. They have plenty of outdoor seating in the front and back when the weather cooperates. They also have private rooms downstairs for holiday parties. read more

The server apologized for the delay and wait for our food to arrive. He seemed stressed. Looked like the back of the house was very short help. Upon leaving, the hostess was sitting with her feet on the hostess table and never looked up from her phone. Not a good look. This was the perfect spot for my birthday breakfast. We were staying in the Plaza, and it was just a short walk from our hotel so no parking stress. The space is bright and airy with tons of natural light and since it was a beautiful sunny day, this place made it a great start to the morning. I had a fantastic ratatouille sandwich on a rainy summer day and the combination of flavors was wonderful.

Another great spot walking distance from the Hilton. Get there early as there was quite a line at the 9:00 am opening time. We sat on the front covered patio, although the side/ back one has lots of umbrellas. I wish we had got to that one because the traffic noise can be loud and distracting out front. Service, even though they were fairly busy was prompt. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich and fries while I had the biscuits and gravy with home fries. They have all day breakfast and lunch here, so depending on your mood, they have you covered. She enjoyed the ciabatta bread hers was served on and the fries had a satisfying crunch when bit into. My biscuits were a tad hard on the bottom, requiring a knife to cut them, but they had great flavor and the sausage gravy was quite savory. We will return on our next visit. read more

Disappointed... I have always loved coming here over the years and RSVP'd for brunch weeks in advance to celebrate my sister-in-law's bachelorette weekend (only 4 of us in attendance so not a large party). We were seated at our table and took a while to be waited on. We then sat at our table for over 60 minutes with no check-in from our waitress or warning that the kitchen was backed up. We nearly missed our spa appointment and never got our food. We would have really appreciated a warning when we checked in about how long food service was taking that day and would've been more appreciative to come back a different day and go somewhere else to actually have time to eat. BAD PLACE. NEVER GOT OUT FOOD. We made reservations here at least two weeks in advance. We got here and we sat inside. Right over a vent. It was freezing. The waitress was nice at first, took our orders and everything was going fine. 45 mins later, we still hadn't gotten our food so we asked her to check on it. She said they would be another 15 mins but they were slammed because the patio was full. Meanwhile, the inside was nearly empty. They shouldn't be prioritizing the patio if we had gotten there 45 minutes beforehand. After waiting more, she came back and said it would be 15 mins. So we said ok we can wait but we have another appointment to get to (we had 2 hrs to eat and get there which seemed like plenty of time) so we'll have to rush and take the check now. Then another 5 minutes goes by and she comes back and say she isn't confident it would be done in 15. At this point it has been over an hour that we've been waiting and we really had no time to wait more and be able to eat so we left. They didn't charge for our drinks and I wouldn't have paid even if they did. It sounds like she just forgot to put in our order and was blaming everything else... for her to not even come check and give us updates on when our food out be out is crazy. Never coming here again. Went back here recently for breakfast. We had Friday off and decided to have breakfast on the now declining Plaza. Food was wonderful. I had the Brisket hash. Flavor was great and quantity was satisfying. Get a cinnamon roll to start off -just because. Service was wonderful. Our waiter was great. This place was packed too. The food is overpriced, let's just get that out of the way. Breakfast does not nor should it cost this much. You're paying for location. Ambiance is great. I ordered the Cubano. I had high hopes for this sandwich but left very disappointed. I think they forgot to add the meat because what I received was not a Cubano at all. It was a toasted hoagie with a few shreds of crispy pork meat. The French fries tasted like they weren't cooked all the way through. Overall a very disappointing meal. read more

The vanilla latte was incredibly sweet and the hollandaise sauce was watery but the potatoes were delicious. If you go and it's nice out ask to set outside in the front that way you have a cute view. The Classic Cup is just that. It is a Classic on the Plaza. Since 1977 they have been pleasing the KC faithful. It comes as no surprise to us. We love this place, and it is a go-to staple. No matter how many times we staycation in KC, at least one morning starts here. This morning we went crazy. How can you be super hungry after stuffing yourself the night before? I never really understand. Start me off with an Irish Coffee. Why? No short pour here; they nail it. Today I want the Sicilian Omelet. Once again no shortage of ingredients, and the sausage flavor is so good. Get it. Just get it. Off the charts good, as are the potatos. (Ask for them to make them extra crispy) Want something other than the Sicilian? Migas is excellent, and the biscuits and gravy are soooo good! BTW I not only had the Sicilian but split an order of pancakes. Don't judge me. I told you right at the start I was hungry. Don't miss this cafe. Our group of about 45 people celebrated with a Holiday Dinner last week. The set-up and presentation by the Classic Cup staff was outstanding. We arrived first and were greeted by Michelle who served is drinks and we reminisced about our past Classic Cup memories. She and the rest of the staff did a commendable job making sure everyone was tended to. Dinner was terrific--we had choices of filet, salmon, or chicken. We came to see "La Copa America 2024" and we stayed at the Hilton Country Club. The first morning it rained a lot so we looked for a place to have breakfast nearby. We found The Classic Cup cafe and the truth is that we were very lucky to find it. Inside it is nice and clean. Our waitress was professional and friendly. We went again today and we had the same waitress, Nailey ( not sure if her name spelled like that, dark hair, glasses, very sweet) When she arrived at the table, she brought water as we asked for yesterday, she remembered what we had eaten (there were 4 of us) and she also remembered our tastes in food and asked us if we would pay the bill in two different cards like yesterday. What a memory! and she was so kind to us. I really love this place! I have been here a couple of times and it has always been a really enjoyable experience. I always make a reservation and it goes smoothly every time.
