AWFUL -deserves 0 stars-some of the most basic cleaning tasks were neglected to be completed then when supplied with photos hours after same day of service the manager offered to have these items recleaned/cleaned for the first time and I waited to review until after that team left today... AFTER THE "RE-DO" which was really just them coming and wiping down a fridge and mirror-STILL not touching the downstairs half bath as all pictures below were from AFTER this supposed re-do -we wanted to have regular monthly services but after giving the company TWO tries to properly clean our home its not worth our time or inconvenience to try to work w/a company with an owner who things they can do no wrong and it about making money not satisfying clients when even his own employees agreed he's awful to deal with and MANY customers have the same issues with him. Now hes expecting us to pay $225 for an unsatisfactory service ...would you pay that for a product that arrives damaged and unusable and just let it go? Or demand a refund? ... STILL NOT CLEAN-lack of communication from manager to team obviously as my email was very detailed about what was missed-biggest issue being the charge of $225 for a first time cleaning thats supposed to be detail oriented in kitchen and bathrooms but counters were not wiped down, back of toilet STILL dirty, back of sink STILL dirty, these are basic basic cleaning tasks and now we will just have to clean them because no way we are wasting time to wait for another team to come "correct" the mistakes. We have worked with cleaning companies and had no issue but recently moving to the area wanted to find new services-Ive notified by neighbors and will be contacting our local chamber of commerce next to warn them of this company. read more

OMG, read the reviews that don't make the Yelp "cut" and that don't contribute to the already dismal star rating. David is a "Slick Willie" if I ever saw one, a used car salesman flunk out. I smelled his schtick on the first visit, I wish I had followed my instinct to not hire him. Anyway, Sue F wrote our review, David jumped on it, did a spin, and peppered it with lies. Apparently, this is his M. O. in reading the undisclosed reviews. Whenever we had a comment about work not being done correctly, or not at all, he changes the facts and becomes aggressive and defiant, claiming the house is filthy and he couldn't keep up. We've had cleaners for years, always commended how well we keep things. Anyway, don't trust the sales pitch, the action doesn't follow the words. Our experience was a classic lesson in horrible customer service, blaming the customer, and pretending to be the victim. We have since interviewed other cleaning companies and the presentations were realistic, caring and professional. Terrible service. The crews were never in my 3-bedroom/2 bath house more than 45min. I even found dirt they left behind that wasn't there when they came in. They seemed so rushed every time they came in. Way too expensive comparatively, and my 5yr old could do a better job. read more

I was with The Cleaning Authority (TCA) for 2.5 years. Crews did not stay consistent is one aspect I came to dislike. On several occasions I had to ask cleaners to redo mirrors or remind them to do sliding glass doors. They did do our wood floors very nice and the main reason I stayed with the company so long. Prices were raised 15% over 2.5 years (Nov 2020 to Mar 2021) which I felt was way too high for their services. I have since moved on to another company which is back to my original pricing from TCA with same people each cleaning. I found the owner David defensive when explaining my less then thrilling experience which lead to me cancelling their services. I would not recommend TCA to a friend in the future due to my experience and above cost of inflation rate increases. Follow up - Potential Clients - look at the long winded responses (more worried about those and ratings) and no level of responsibility on TCA's part per their owner is a common theme. This is not a company that is a two way street for clients... all about getting the signature on the account. I will let the owners words on the replies speak for themselves. Buyer beware. read more

I think they do exactly what they promise (when you sign up for regular cleanings): they do a great general clean of your home. They do not deep clean your house, but they do not promise this! I know that you can arrange deeper cleans at your own convenience and cost. I have not done this, but would consider it if I needed it, given the high quality of their general cleans. They have been cleaning our home for a year and a half now (I believe) and we have had several different cleaners with the same great results every 2 weeks. Most recently, Kenzie and Catherine cleaned our home and, again, we were pleased. Thank you, Cleaning Authority, for taking the task of home cleaning off our "To Do" list. I wish I'd of read these yelp reviews prior to hiring them. We had 4 "cleans" and I use that term loosely as there were issues with all of them. The people themselves were all very nice, so no complaints there. I believe that the training, or lack thereof from the owner/manager or whoever is training them is the real issue. They clearly cut corners wherever possible. Examples... ~do not move any small area rugs to wash floors underneath ~basically they don't move anything, but rather clean around it ~caught one of them washing my bathroom floor without it even being vacuumed first. When I questioned her, she told me "that's how I was trained" ~had 4 different teams each cleaning ~staircase, on last clean was never touched, which is part of the clean ~master bathroom counter never done properly ~screen porch was never cleaned properly. Streaky glass on the end tables, floor was once again "loosely mopped" without having been vacuumed first. ~by their own admissions., one of the teams did a "lousy" job on the first deep clean. Deep cleans are an absolute joke. Ceiling fans had never been cleaned properly ~stainless steel hood range was a smeary mess when they were done with it ~was told that it's "mandatory" for all of them to wear masks. First clean, they both showed up with no masks at all ~upholstery was not vacuumed per the "deep clean" instructions I could go on and on. It was an utter waste of money. No "inspector" ever came as promised, to check the job. Every time I complained to Dave, he had some excuse or just didn't respond or really care. He even gave us our money back for the last clean, when we parted ways, if I would take down a review I had posted. That speaks volumes of how he runs this company. He only cares about closing the sale, getting you to sign the contract and doesn't really care what happens after that. He's rude, and doesn't understand the first thing about good customer service. I would not have done this review, except his parting comment to me was "your house is so filthy, we couldn't keep up with it." Hmmmm, that's funny considering several team members told us how very easy our house was to clean because it was not full of clutter and dirty. read more

I would give it less than 1 if that were an option! They claim to clean your home in rotation but my baseboards haven't been touched in months, their "floor detail" is apararently a mop being squished quickly because there were spills left behind, I left a twist tie on the floor to see how long it would stay there ... a month. I had a supervisor come out after twisting my concern- she deemed the job adequate and she even missed the twist tie. Crumbs under ther toaster, no vac lines with their super old gross vacuum. I had the owner David come to my home and tell me although he can see they didn't hold up their end of the bargain, "we clearly cant work together". That's his resolution. He didn't have the correct dates and times of correspondence and blamed me. He shoved his iPad in my face to show me what he had "in the system"... I said get out. I asked for a refund and he said "good luck, that's not happening" My advice - Do it yourself if you want it done right and skip the aggravation! Naturally the Owner David puts it back on me to justify the baseboards not being cleaned. I had a new team every two weeks for months. Employee turnover costs more than a refund! I asked for the last clean to be refunded NOT several months of cleans. Nice try to skew things David. read more

I should have known from the first appointment this was not the product they so confidently sale you. The initial clean was no different than the bi-weekly cleans. To the point they had to send a second team which didn't do any better. Each time different people would come and each time they worked quicker to get out sooner. This last time two individuals were in our home for less than one hour for a four bedroom two and a half bath home, plus living, dining, kitchen and family room. Half the house wasn't dusted and I haven't seen a mirror yet that was cleaned. The vacuum they use is not high caliber of which when I vacuum after they leave, I still pick up a lot of dirt and dog hair. Don't waste your money as you can get a thorough cleaning, from the same person each time, at half the price. I am mostly disappointed that when I said we were cancelling their was absolutely no "Why?", obviously they know why people don't stay with them long. read more

We have been with Cleaning Authority, Cary for many years. They have a really good rotation system to ensure each area periodically gets extra attention. It is also possible to customize certain things, like not taking the trash out, damp mopping wood floors, etc. Over the years, the workers have rarely broken items and have never stolen anything. The very few times there were mishaps, the office promptly took care of the issue. The workers and the office have always treated us in a professional manner. The cleaning itself was ok but do not leave any valuables in your house if you are hiring this company or any cleaning company. We learned the hard way and it is very hard to prove unless you have cameras installed in your house. The items taken from us were not out in plain sight. They were hidden inside a dresser drawer. Since they are a customer of ours with a good reputation I thought I was putting my cleaning needs in good hands. I was very wrong. After 3 hours and $250 all I got was a clean frig, oven (that I had self cleaned prior) and microwave that was rarely used anyway. The shower doors still look terrible, the floors were NEVER touched and they "did not have the time" to dust. I will never recommend them to one or our customers as we have much higher standards than to refer a company like this. I have had to hire another company to get my floors cleaned and we will be cleaning the shower doors ourselves. Biggest waste of time and money I have ever spent. read more

They have the nerve to come into my house I am a blind disabled veteran. The company called up and stated we need the AC on for there crew. I told them I had to call the AC people for the season and they told me I don't need to do that I just need flip the switch. So I told them that you can skip this week and I'll have it done. I had help with my thermostat when the cleaners came they changed my thermostat setting. I spent and hour and half in the garage when they left I came into the house it was freezing cold they changed my thermostat setting to 65. When my wife came home it was very uncomfortable and again it was set at 65. It took hours to get our home into a more comfortable setting. read more

Started off great, but have been consistently slipping the last 6 months. They broke an item, didn't tell me about it, and don't actually clean that well. The only reason I know they've been to my house to clean is vacuum marks on the carpet and water marks all over my laminate flooring. I spend time afterwards dusting, putting things back the way they were, and calling them to come redo my floors. A huge pet peeve of mine is that 'triangle' they leave on my toilet tissue roll and paper towels. Try making sure the house is clean before doing that. Only makes it worse. Should have cancelled a long time ago and their service isn't worth the money. I'll be researching a new service. read more

Up to the last few months every thing was good. Things change. They have since knocked my shower door out of its track and I had to find this out myself. Since fixed by me. About four months ago they broke a glass fish. It took four month and several calls to Dave who by the way is in no hurry to call back to finally have the fish returned. It appears to have been sent to my 8 year old grand daughter instead o a professional . Tail on wrong and glue showing. Still waiting for a return call. Over all very disappointing. Well, David will likely reply and lay claim to many facts that simply aren't true. Fact, we played phone tag to correct what was an awful job done by Belen and Maddi on 2/13/19. When the option was to just forgo the fee and remain friends David replied with a 25% discount on 4 cleanings. Certainly, this was the same as just the one time adjustment. But the discussion, adjustment and everything else needed to be on his schedule. So when confronted with losing the business all together...he digs his heels in further. Probably a great engineer, terrible business owner. Needless to say we no longer will be working with CA-Cary and will go to a competitor. I have never been displeased by the service I've received and I have been a customer for going on 10 years. From the people in the office to the people who come to my home I have always been treated kindly and professionally. The cleaning is top-notch every single time. I like how they work - an overall clean every time with a rotating focus for a deeper clean in specific sections each visit. They come every two weeks for me which really works best for my place. They were here last on April 29, 2015 and that'll keep my house looking good until their next visit on May 13! I highly recommend them. read more

Don't waste your time. We had the Cleaning Authority clean 4 times. The first two visits were fine, however they make you pay extra for a 'more detailed' clean. The third visit was unsatisfactory with many items left not cleaned. I requested this be fixed and another team came back several days later. On the fourth visit, one of the team members reeked of smoke and I called to request that the people they send not smell overwhelmingly of smoke as we have a smoke-free home. Two days before our scheduled next clean, the CA terminates our agreement. How dare they have customers who expect them to send professional people and people who actually clean?! What a waste of our time. They may do a decent job, but don't complain about anything or you're done! read more

I had them come to my home on two occasions and both times, I had to hand hold the cleaners to clean my house. The last cleaning the girl Brittney said that is now how we were trained to clean. All I wanted her to do is take a bucket of hot water and wash my bathroom floor. She said they were trained to spray a cleaning agent on the floor and wipe it up...I said all you are doing is moving the dirt around. Dave the owner is very unaccommodating and his excuse is they are training new people, or maybe your house isn't for us to clean. Customer for just over a year. Have had many issues and complaints, few of which have been resolved. First, the crew simply does not do a consistent job cleaning our house. When items have been brought to their attention, they improve the next week, then performance falls after that. Second, they do not clean what they say they clean. Cabinet surfaces may go months without being cleaned when every week or so they state that they have been cleaned. Same is true for sweeping and vacuuming, scrubbing bath tiles, etc. Third, they simply work too quickly to do even a mediocre job. They typically are in and out of our 4000 sqft house in 75 minutes, and in that time, it is impossible to cover all of the areas they say they do. Furthermore, my wife, or I have been home many times when they have cleaned our house, so we see what is being done, which is not much. For their price point, you can find much better elsewhere. Love the people that The Cleaning Authority of Cary provide-- Kelli, Cheryl, Brooke, Jackie, Yanero, Jason, and Margaret have all serviced our home. They have all been friendly, good with our dogs and allowed us to come home to a nice, clean home. They were very upfront about not being a service that makes beds, changes linens or tidies up. I asked questions about everything before they ever started the service, so I don't feel I have any surprises. For the price, the quality is a fair deal. The team follows the plans laid out and I do appreciate they follow a rotation and leave a reminder of what they will do on the next visit. Again, Kelli, Cheryl, Brooke, Jackie, Yanero, Jason, and Margaret are really great and I appreciate their hard work and positive energy! Also, the rotation of people is because we have had to switch times around -- which they have been very helpful to accommodate. Ask lots of questions on your wishlist and you will be prepped for what they will or will not do.
