We always drive by this place when we're on our way to our local Costco and it's always busy so we decided to drop in on a Friday evening. We were able to get a last-minute reservation easily. They have an outdoor patio area that is dog friendly, and the food is pretty good. We ordered the hummus, crispy chicken sandwich, tuna tostada, and the ceviche. Ranking everything in order from best to just OK: tuna tostada, hummus, ceviche, and then the crispy chicken sandwich last. The tuna tostada and the hummus were by far the best dishes. I would definitely come back just for those two. It seems like they usually have live music, but because of the World Cup and the Knicks game that is on hold. It was so good that we decided to book reservations for tomorrow even though we're eating here today for the Knicks game. read more

The produce was equally disappointing. The tomatoes were pale pink, seemingly underripe, and lacked the deep, juicy sweetness that can elevate a burger. This breakfast plate comes with scrambled eggs, pan-fried potatoes, and toast. The potatoes tasted as though they had been sitting on the side of the griddle for some time - dry, overcooked, and lacking freshness. The scrambled eggs were similarly disappointing. They lacked the velvety texture and rich flavor that distinguish well-executed scrambled eggs from average ones. The dish was serviceable but far from memorable. Cloverfield Chili - 2.5/5. The description is promising, highlighting ingredients such as grass-fed beef and lime crema. In practice, however, the chili was merely okay. The flavor profile felt somewhat bland and one-dimensional, while the ground beef lacked the moisture and richness that make a hearty chili satisfying. More disappointing was the serving temperature - the chili arrived only slightly warm. A dish like this should be served piping hot to deliver the comforting, hearty experience diners expect. The Cloverfield excels in location and atmosphere, and I would happily return for drinks or to catch up with friends. However, the food did not live up to the expectations set by its reputation or pricing. While the setting is enjoyable, the overall dining experience left me underwhelmed. read more

The restaurant is very inviting a nice indoor seating as well as outdoor patio. We sat in the patio our group of four. Service was very attentive. I had a chicken pot pie, which I thought was delicious which included mashed potatoes and some mashed peas all which was simply excellent. Wash it down with a mimosa was perfect for me. Two in our group had salmon burgers, which they enjoyed very much. It was simply a nice lunch experience during the week. His answer to "what's the soup of the day?" was "no clue." Overall it felt like a free-for-all to get any sort of service, where only the strong survive. I had a pretty mediocre experience overall. Service was the biggest issue. Once our server took our order, she never came back to our table at all. At one point, we tried to get her attention as she walked by. She stopped next to me and responded with a quick "yeah" but stayed focused on her device and never actually lifted her head to look at us. We asked for an extra bowl for our poke salad. She nodded, then went to another table and never brought it. I understand it can get busy. Just be polite and responsive. That's all. The bussers, however, were polite which we appreciated. Eventually, I believe the manager or owner came by with the bill, and he was nice and professional. We even had to go up to the front to follow up, since our waitress never checked back in or handled the bill. As for the food, it was okay - nothing particularly memorable. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. Service, unfortunately, was a 1 out of 5 and really overshadowed the entire experience. That said, it may have just been an off day for our server, but it still left a negative impression. read more

Came here twice so far and both times are solid. The outdoor seating is nice and has heaters, great for people watching. The indoor seating also has heaters and the employees offer to turn it off if it's too hot. I got the shrimp ceviche and the jasmine tea cocktail. The drink was too strong for me, I prefer a fruity drink. I couldn't finish it and decided to order the passionfruit one instead and that was great. The waiter came to check on us multiple times and noticed that my jasmine tea drink was barely touched and he offered to take it off the bill which was so great of him!! Was ready to pay for it but now I'm going to come back and try their other dishes and drinks as well. The ceviche was pretty standard, did the job. Gotta note that all the food came out at the same time and was so fast! I think it was 5-10min from placing the order to getting the food. It has a lovely location being across from a soccer field/park/airfield/flight museum which means plenty around it that gives it a lovely atmosphere! The outdoor seating is lovely and the inside seating is no different. The waitress's/waiters vary. Some are very engaging and will check on you while others don't give you as much attention which didn't ruin the experience, it just was something to note. When it comes to the food it's very average pricing when it comes to a restaurant with this vibe and setting. This most recent visit the Chicken pot pie I had was better than most I've had. It was thick and the crust was very nicely done. The mashed potatoes and peas on the side was great as I got to add however much I wanted. Though I enjoyed the chicken pot pie, it still lacked seasoning. Just a note. Overall I'll come back here to try more of the menu but it's not anything special in terms of the actual food. I was super excited to try the jumbo shrimp linguine pasta but unfortunately didn't taste the way I had imagined now this doesn't mean the food wasn't BOMB. A side of fries is $8 but SO WORTH IT, imagine a fancier McDonalds fry.. this is it but so much better!!! My friend traded me their margarita pizza which is very delicious! My other friends got the fried chicken sandwhich and french onion dip and they loved it! The ambiance is sooo nice especially outside! I will definitely be returning! I now have a new spot to take friends visiting from out of town, for a date night, or to share a meal with a large party (10-16). Dog friendly! Right next to the Santa Monica Airport which you'd never know since it feels like you're in your own little tucked away backyard. Great location, plenty of free parking in the back or on the street. I love their outdoor seating, small to large tables for couples, friends, or family gathering. Noticed a more intimate outdoor patio for private parties. They also have plenty of indoor seating and a bar. Made a reservation just in case, but it really didn't start getting busy until 7pm for a Friday night. Service was decent, but nothing stood out with that. The Agave Pina was strong on the mezcal and didn't really taste the pineapple, so wasn't a personal fav. The Margherita pizza did the trick as a pairing for the pasta dish but standard personal size that's shareable for 2. The bucatini really stole the show! Had mixed feelings about a recent Sunday dinner at The Cloverfield. The Santa Monica Airport setting is fun, and the ample outdoor patio seating is appealing. But, the restaurant was extremely busy with multiple large parties the night we were there. The result was that they were already out of multiple menu items when went to place our order at 6:30 in the evening. Our server was very apologetic, and was generally quite pleasant and professional. But, the scene overall was pretty chaotic and noisy. Foodwise... I was very happy with my burger, but the two entree salads we ordered were pretty ho hum. Can't say that we'll be rushing back. read more

This place is hidden gem. I came here for brunch and it was delightful. We walked in and got seated right away on the super cute patio. I ordered the fried egg sandwich. The sandwich is a good size that is precut in half for you. I really appreciated that they included 2 eggs that were split between both halves instead of just 1 egg. Came here with my coworkers for a lunch out, and the patio is beautiful, its across from a field and by the airport. A lot of outdoor seating option and they also have heaters as well as needed. Went for brunch, the parking is shared with the airport parking, and the dining part of the parking is always filled as it seem, so do come earlier. there is also street parking available. the waiters are super sweet, the place is clean, and the food is delicious! I do think that the salad was a bit more bitter than anticipated and less fresh (I am a salad person if i should say, not that I am a pro, but i can tell when they're fresh or not) and I guess that was the differ point to that 1 star take off since that is a side option for all the main dishes - which you'd hope compliments the dish rather than ick otherwise i got the french dip sandwich which comes with a dip, and is delicious and the fries seems great. have bottomless refill on sodas other coworkers also rated their food delicious but the salad seemingly is the most untouched item among the table. restroom is clean, and food came out on a timely manner. what else can i ask for! read more

Great local spot adjacent to the Santa Monica Airport. I really don't think anyone would know about this except for locals which gives it extra charm. They offer cute indoor dining but we found the outdoor area to be exceptional especially during sunsets. There's something about seeing everyone with their sunglasses and the amber hues of the sunset across their faces. You couldn't ask for friendlier servers. Our guy was super chill. It is Santa Monica after all! Great assortment of food choices on the menu from pasta, salads, and sandwiches. We of course went with their famous fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. The food is consistently incredible, but what really makes it special is the people. Every single person who works here makes you feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely happy to be there. Kevin and Riley always take such good care of us and Carlos finds space for us in the most chaotic times. They have intentionally created a fun, energetic, comfortable vibe and the kind of place where you walk in and instantly relax. Whether it's a busy night or a quick stop in, they somehow always make it feel personal. We've shared so many meals and memories here, and I realized I should have written this review a long time ago. Kirsty just went above and beyond to help us host an amazing brunch for 30 people and everyone loved it.
