Came here twice so far and both times are solid. The outdoor seating is nice and has heaters, great for people watching. The indoor seating also has heaters and the employees offer to turn it off if it's too hot. I got the shrimp ceviche and the jasmine tea cocktail. The drink was too strong for me, I prefer a fruity drink. I couldn't finish it and decided to order the passionfruit one instead and that was great. The waiter came to check on us multiple times and noticed that my jasmine tea drink was barely touched and he offered to take it off the bill which was so great of him!! Was ready to pay for it but now I'm going to come back and try their other dishes and drinks as well. The ceviche was pretty standard, did the job. Gotta note that all the food came out at the same time and was so fast! I think it was 5-10min from placing the order to getting the food. Food was good, but the service was abysmal, to put it nicely. Our server (I think) took a couple drink orders and then went back to his side gig as an extra in a Cheech and Chong movie. Unknown, because the drinks did come, but he never came back. We had to flag down a different server who, we later found out, owned a different section, and although he helped, he didn't seem much more clued in to what was going on. His answer to "what's the soup of the day?" was "no clue." Overall it felt like a free-for-all to get any sort of service, where only the strong survive. I had a pretty mediocre experience overall. Service was the biggest issue. Once our server took our order, she never came back to our table at all. At one point, we tried to get her attention as she walked by. She stopped next to me and responded with a quick "yeah" but stayed focused on her device and never actually lifted her head to look at us. We asked for an extra bowl for our poke salad. She nodded, then went to another table and never brought it. I understand it can get busy. Just be polite and responsive. That's all. The bussers, however, were polite which we appreciated. Eventually, I believe the manager or owner came by with the bill, and he was nice and professional. We even had to go up to the front to follow up, since our waitress never checked back in or handled the bill. As for the food, it was okay - nothing particularly memorable. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. First time visit this week. Great experience. Nice location near the Santa Monica airport with a large easy parking lot. The restaurant is very inviting a nice indoor seating as well as outdoor patio. We sat in the patio our group of four. Service was very attentive. I had a chicken pot pie, which I thought was delicious which included mashed potatoes and some mashed peas all which was simply excellent. Wash it down with a mimosa was perfect for me. Two in our group had salmon burgers, which they enjoyed very much. It was simply a nice lunch experience during the week. I even got there a couple hours early with my bicycle and took a ride west to the beach they did not have any problem with me leaving my car there. read more

Came with a gal pal who I hadn't seen in a while. We had a lovely lunch in the garden on a Friday. Beautiful and peaceful setting. I ordered the fish tacos which were superb and she had the Chinese chicken salad which she enjoyed very much. We each had a yummy mimosa. The restaurant was not crowded, and honestly service could have been a smidge better, but the food and the atmosphere made up for it so I am giving it 5 stars. I will definitely go back. read more

Outside is perfect for a warm day, it's a nice area (even with being across from the airport) I normally come mid day for lunch and it's calm and peaceful. I've dined at this place multiple times since I was very young. It has a lovely location being across from a soccer field/park/airfield/flight museum which means plenty around it that gives it a lovely atmosphere! The outdoor seating is lovely and the inside seating is no different. The waitress's/waiters vary. Some are very engaging and will check on you while others don't give you as much attention which didn't ruin the experience, it just was something to note. When it comes to the food it's very average pricing when it comes to a restaurant with this vibe and setting. This most recent visit the Chicken pot pie I had was better than most I've had. It was thick and the crust was very nicely done. The mashed potatoes and peas on the side was great as I got to add however much I wanted. Though I enjoyed the chicken pot pie, it still lacked seasoning. Just a note. Overall I'll come back here to try more of the menu but it's not anything special in terms of the actual food. The food is consistently incredible, but what really makes it special is the people. Every single person who works here makes you feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely happy to be there. Kevin and Riley always take such good care of us and Carlos finds space for us in the most chaotic times. They have intentionally created a fun, energetic, comfortable vibe and the kind of place where you walk in and instantly relax. Whether it's a busy night or a quick stop in, they somehow always make it feel personal. We've shared so many meals and memories here, and I realized I should have written this review a long time ago. Kirsty just went above and beyond to help us host an amazing brunch for 30 people and everyone loved it. My first time at the Cloverfield with my friends for my 23rd birthday. I was super excited to try the jumbo shrimp linguine pasta but unfortunately didn't taste the way I had imagined now this doesn't mean the food wasn't BOMB. A side of fries is $8 but SO WORTH IT, imagine a fancier McDonalds fry.. this is it but so much better!!! My friend traded me their margarita pizza which is very delicious! My other friends got the fried chicken sandwhich and french onion dip and they loved it! The ambiance is sooo nice especially outside! I will definitely be returning! I now have a new spot to take friends visiting from out of town, for a date night, or to share a meal with a large party (10-16). Dog friendly! Right next to the Santa Monica Airport which you'd never know since it feels like you're in your own little tucked away backyard. Great location, plenty of free parking in the back or on the street. I love their outdoor seating, small to large tables for couples, friends, or family gathering. Noticed a more intimate outdoor patio for private parties. They also have plenty of indoor seating and a bar. Made a reservation just in case, but it really didn't start getting busy until 7pm for a Friday night. Service was decent, but nothing stood out with that. The Agave Pina was strong on the mezcal and didn't really taste the pineapple, so wasn't a personal fav. The Margherita pizza did the trick as a pairing for the pasta dish but standard personal size that's shareable for 2. The bucatini really stole the show! Fresh noodles, amazing flavor, came out hot and was delicious. Definitely want to come back and try their brunch and more dishes! read more

This place is hidden gem. I came here for brunch and it was delightful. We walked in and got seated right away on the super cute patio. I ordered the fried egg sandwich. The sandwich is a good size that is precut in half for you. I really appreciated that they included 2 eggs that were split between both halves instead of just 1 egg. Also ordered the shrimp ceviche and it tasted a bit fishy and perhaps a tad old. The dragonfruit cocktail wass sour and tasted like vinegar. I couldn't finish it. Great local spot adjacent to the Santa Monica Airport. I really don't think anyone would know about this except for locals which gives it extra charm. They offer cute indoor dining but we found the outdoor area to be exceptional especially during sunsets. There's something about seeing everyone with their sunglasses and the amber hues of the sunset across their faces. You couldn't ask for friendlier servers. Our guy was super chill. It is Santa Monica after all! Great assortment of food choices on the menu from pasta, salads, and sandwiches. We of course went with their famous fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. This place felt average to me. I loved their hummus plate with pita bread. The pita is made from scratch is delightful. What I didn't enjoy from the French dip! Nestled next to the Santa Monica airport tarmac is a great indoor and fun outdoor experience. The staff is kind and the dining areas are clean. They can even charge your phone if you ask nicely. My recommendation is the soup of the day and sharing 4 of their incredible tacos. Great bartenders work here and can hook you up with some beautifully strong drinks which are a great value. There is talk about the airport becoming a massive park and The Cloverfield could possibly become the center of this incredible new entity. Also, special room is avail in the back perfect for celebrations! We can't wait to have our cast party here. read more

You can even eat reasonably healthy if you want. Our dogs didn't get into the biscuits, but it was a very nice touch to make them feel welcomed. Food was the French dip sandwich and skinny fries. Delicious! Drinks: craft beer and a purple gin and tonic. No complaints with drinks. Our server was a little off. We heard so many great things about this place and was excited to check it out. We went last Sunday around 11am. We came in from the back, where the parking lot is, and entered a really cute patio. There were plenty of tables but no host or sign about seating so we asked a worker if we just sat ourselves, and he looked at us and yelled no! He pointed to other end where the host stand was and said someone would help us there. They did, we got seated and then my husband went to the bathroom. When he came out, he looked sick and said we have to leave. He said the worker that dropped off our water went into the bathroom while he was in there, did his business, and left without washing his hands. Gross. But when we told our server this, she didn't do or say anything. Granted, she looked tired and overworked, but we thought at the very least she could bring a manager over so we could tell them, but that never happened. I can't say anything about the food but everything else about this restaurant was a complete let down. read more
