Great location and ambiance, but the food quality and execution did not justify the hype. The Cloverfield has a fantastic location and inviting ambiance, making it an appealing spot to grab a drink or meet up with friends. Unfortunately, the food and service fell short of my expectations. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but given its desirable location and atmosphere, the pricing feels somewhat justified. Also, the restaurant business is tough to manage, especially with recent increases in rent, insurance, and supply costs. That said, based on my experience, the food is overrated compared with the praise it receives in many reviews. The Cloverfield Cheeseburger - 2/5. The menu suggests the burger is made with high-quality beef, and that may well be true. However, the patty itself tasted bland and lacked the richness and fat content needed to make it memorable. It also lacked a well-developed crust, which left the overall flavor underwhelming. The bun deteriorated after only a few bites and lacked the chewiness and structure of a good burger bun. The produce was equally disappointing. The tomatoes were pale pink, seemingly underripe, and lacked the deep, juicy sweetness that can elevate a burger. The lettuce was pale and lacked both the crisp texture and fresh flavor needed to complement the other ingredients. Overall, this burger was a letdown. The Scramble - 2/5. This breakfast plate comes with scrambled eggs, pan-fried potatoes, and toast. The potatoes tasted as though they had been sitting on the side of the griddle for some time - dry, overcooked, and lacking freshness. The scrambled eggs were similarly disappointing. They lacked the velvety texture and rich flavor that distinguish well-executed scrambled eggs from average ones. The dish was serviceable but far from memorable. Cloverfield Chili - 2.5/5. The description is promising, highlighting ingredients such as grass-fed beef and lime crema. In practice, however, the chili was merely okay. The flavor profile felt somewhat bland and one-dimensional, while the ground beef lacked the moisture and richness that make a hearty chili satisfying. More disappointing was the serving temperature - the chili arrived only slightly warm. A dish like this should be served piping hot to deliver the comforting, hearty experience diners expect. The Cloverfield excels in location and atmosphere, and I would happily return for drinks or to catch up with friends. However, the food did not live up to the expectations set by its reputation or pricing. While the setting is enjoyable, the overall dining experience left me underwhelmed.

We always drive by this place when we're on our way to our local Costco and it's always busy so we decided to drop in on a Friday evening. We were able to get a last-minute reservation easily. They have an outdoor patio area that is dog friendly, and the food is pretty good. We ordered the hummus, crispy chicken sandwich, tuna tostada, and the ceviche. Ranking everything in order from best to just OK: tuna tostada, hummus, ceviche, and then the crispy chicken sandwich last. The tuna tostada and the hummus were by far the best dishes. I would definitely come back just for those two. It seems like they usually have live music, but because of the World Cup and the Knicks game that is on hold. It was so good that we decided to book reservations for tomorrow even though we're eating here today for the Knicks game.

Huge portions, amazing food! It is clear that this restaurant takes the time to make great food with high quality ingredients. The service was fantastic and the outdoor dining has great vibes! Very family friendly! Dogs, too!

Great restaurant that's tucked away. Lots of brunch, lunch and dinner options that all sounded good. Parking was easy since it's near a park but can see how it can get busy easily. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Their patio is really nice too for larger groups.

Lovely restaurant with outdoor seating. Perfect for a warm summer day. Loved the vibe but the fish n chips were only alright. My friend did like the chicken sandwich so maybe i just got the wrong dish! Service was great.

Great atmosphere and friendly service. The outdoor patio seating is perfect and spacious. The food was great as well. Ordered a pizza and Cesar salad. Simple and hit the spot. Would definitely come back soon!

The Cloverfield is one of my go to spots with a nice quiet patio and yummy food when I have guests or meetings. The servers are friendly. I enjoy their brunch quite a bit, especially the pancakes (always order them for the table!). I opted to get the Asian salad while my friends got more breakfast dishes. Everyone kept saying they really liked the location.

    What's the corkage fee/policy?

So I see theres Al fresco / Garden / Patio / Dinning as options for seating but what/where exactly is this?…

It's a regular restaurant. You can dine in the garden (outside seating), on patio or inside.

    Are there vegan options available?

Yes, a few of the expected suspects. But it is all good and the outdoor space is so worth it. Actually planned out before covid so it wasn't a lady minute hack job.

    Are you dog friendly?

    Yes! Ee love dogs!

Do you have to make a reservation to dine in? We were turned away and said they only take reservations after going through the trouble of showing us the menu.

We certainly recommend reservations so you are guaranteed to have a table. You can call for a booking, book through our website or Resy.com.

During the social hour times, what menu is offered? Brunch or dinner?

The social hour menu is offered. https://thecloverfield.net/menu/#social_hour_menu

Do you have high chairs for kiddos?

    yes we do...

Why are you not open during the week for lunch? This doesn't make sense to me?

Thanks for reaching out Steve. We are currently open for Dinner Wednesday - Sunday and Brunch on the Weekends. We look forward to expanding our hours as we continue on, as Covid restrictions are relaxed and offices and schools open back up.

Our server, Murray, was so patient with us and was amazing all around. We were very indecisive and he gave us great recommendations, and was attentive, welcoming, and when needed, gave us our space to enjoy the meal. Thank you, Murray! We started with the Rye me a River cocktail and the Mezcal cocktail which were both perfect for our tastes. My mezcal drink was beautiful with a black salt rim and beautiful Smokey flavor (along with the word Chelsea spelled out on my ice cube). My friend loved his Rye me a River cocktail. For food, we started with the oysters and lobster sliders which I don't get a picture of, but they were both great!!! The lobster sliders were actually my favorite bite of the whole meal. My friend devoured the oysters, he loved them so much. We then had the boar ragu tagliatelle which was excellent. It was sweeter than most ragus that I've had, but that was my friend's favorite dish of the whole night. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, absolutely perfectly, and the pistachio crust was delicious. We ordered steak frites and asked that the fries be truffle fries, which they kindly accommodated. So glad we asked because the truffle fries were delicious, they came with a cilantro dipping sauce that was delectable! The steak itself was cooked perfectly, and the gravy accompaniment was an excellent complement to the steak. We also got the peanut butter and chocolate turnover for my friend's birthday. Yall, it was SO good! It really exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back! My friend was so happy with his birthday meal!! We found street parking, but they do have valet if you need it as well. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, great for a date night. They have dimmer lighting, and great booths and tables throughout the space. The bar is beautiful and has a small tv screen in case you want to watch something but it's small enough and out of the way that it's not distracting at all if you don't want to watch any sporting event.

Wonderful combo with the watermelon, haven't had it like this before and would repeat. Sweet Corn & Ricotta Ravioli: Thai green curry based sauce. It was delicious but deceptively spicy. My kids tried eating some but it was too hot for them and we ate the rest. Seared Tandoori Scallops: Saffron risotto, tarragon beurre blanc. The risotto was so good! Overall very friendly and helpful customer service. Loved the outdoor seating options. Felt separate from the other restaurants and the street traffic despite being so close to the sidewalk. Clean tables (bird free) and metal chairs (no padding - if you care about that). Food: BREAKFAST BURRITO ($16 + $5 extras) Not bad. I would have liked a little more seasoned flavor overall to make it more cohesive in the bites. But I understand each ingredient has an individual bland taste, so the only option would be to season the eggs. Something in the burrito had a slightly salty taste to it. That may have come from the avocado or the turkey bacon. But without the turkey bacon or the avocado, this would just be a burrito with eggs and tater tots. Ingredients... Scrambled eggs, green onions, monterey jack cheese, tater tots, flour tortilla with choice of ranchero salsa. Added avocado smash (+$2) and turkey bacon (+$3) Drink: DEEP ROOTED ($10.5) This presentation was everything! So beautifully lavender in color and creamy flavor. If you enjoy espresso, this is a great drink to order that has a creamy taste that's not overwhelmingly sweet but compliments the coffee. Ingredients... espresso, coconut, ube (sweet potato) used coconut milk. The price to item ratio is a bit much, so should be taken into consideration. I would come back to try some other items on the menu if I'm in the area.
