Very tasty burger. I was ravenous and headed towards my parent's house to help them with some home repairs; I knew I needed a quick nice bite to eat, saw The Club House and immediately pulled in. I was greeted right away by a female bartender who sat me and took care of me the entire meal. $32 for a bunless burger, side salad, iced tea & tip. Seemed expensive, but everything does these days...! I had to keep in mind that everywhere I go to eat has become increasingly more expensive as the purchasing power of our dollar has plummeted. Yes! That's the answer to the question for this establishment. Yes, the food is good and my wife has learned how to order it so that we can share tastes and enjoy the meal. The other night we ate in courses we started with sharing the brussels sprouts then we each had a cup of the stew, and we concluded by sharing a hamburger. Well, I got 75% of the hamburger. We ate in the bar again on that night and so we were able to have interaction with the ownership team. Nice people who stayed engaged with us while they were doing side work. Oh, and I can't forget the cocktails. My wife and I feel like Norm from cheers as the owner knows what we like and makes it very well. The Club House is a fairly well known establishment on the south end of Gardnerville. They are located on the golf course and serving up lots of tasty bites. We visited the clubhouse on a Saturday night and enjoyed sitting on the patio. Our party of 4 + 2 kids was seated right away, though we arrived for a dinner quite early. Our drink orders went and in soon after, so did our food. Everything was going well and some live music even started up on the patio. We did have to wait quite awhile for our food. When it arrived, everything looked good and tasted good. One issue was that my step dad had ordered and was charged for extra bacon on his BLT, but I would describe the amount of bacon on his sandwich as extremely underwhelming. One other issue occurred with the ribeye steak being slightly overcooked, but not so much so to be a major issue. When the bill came gratuity was already added, which seems a bit strange since we were only a party of 4 adults. Do kids count as grown people who should pay gratuity? I will recognize the restaurants comping of my mom's meal for her birthday, which was very nice and appreciated. Overall I would certainly come back to the Club House. The food was good and the service was good and with a few small tweaks I think it could have been an excellent experience. read more

We tried this last night.. Save your money. The food was prepared poorly. Scampi with hard , not al dente noodles. Farm raised salmon being passed off as " Sea Trout"... then over cooked . I don't understand how anyone could rate The clubhouse less than 5 stars!!! The revamp is amazing. From the food, cocktail, service, to the ambience everything was top notch! The coconut crusted prawns, weekly fish special, and bread pudding were so so delicious! My friends and I enjoyed our dinner out on the patio that had been recently painted and cleaned up. I went to The Club House on a Saturday night and sat in the bar area where the music was playing. The atmosphere was welcoming. Some people are sitting at the bar, others in a comfy leather couch at the entrance. I went with my son, my grandchildren and some family friends. We enjoyed the singer, and the volume was perfect, not too loud, so we could have a conversation and listen to her songs. I was the only one hungry, so I was happy to see they would serve me dinner in this area. I had a Filet Mignon, which came with vegetables and a potato gratin. Yum! The meat cooked to perfection, medium rare, as I asked -I often get overcooked meat, so this was a happy surprise-. I loved the potato cheese side and would like the recipe. We were so excited to come and visit this new restaurant and were so happy we did! The min we walked in the kind and welcoming hostess Ashtyn greeted us and was accommodating to our request to be seated outside on the patio. The patio is wonderful. We've been in a few times. The first time was right after they opened and we were very pleased. They did a great job with the remodel. So bright, clean and modern. The wing appetizer and rib appetizers are outstanding. We went a few weeks later for lunch and it was just so so. We had sandwiches that were just ok. So we hadn't been back in awhile, until last night. We went to dinner and I was so happy that we did. They had a chicken parm special that was great! Enough for 2 meals and it was $20. This is not a steak house although they do have a steak for 40.00. .I have lived here and was a patron of the Country Club for 26 years. This Club house in no way is a replacement for the old place. Unlike the Country Club, there is no Free Sougher dough bread, no wine with free refills. There is no Basque family style dinners. The new owners should have kept the same menu, the same severs, and cooks.. Not bad, however, Roy's is better. Id recommend Carson Valley Inn for a steak house. The COUNTRY CLUB WAS an ICON FOREVER. My husband and I were on a date night and decided last minute to try this place as they recently opened under un ownership. We arrived a bit late for dinner and we were asked if bar sitting was okay as they were trying to finish up in the dining room. We had no problem since we were coming in late and the bar area was fixed up very nicely with new paint and nice local art pieces. Our server, Tori, was fantastic! Sweet and super helpful answering any questions we had. She got us some draft beers and took our order. I decided to try the Lamb Burger and my husband the Chicken Club. We added avocado on it. Instead of fries we got the side salad. It took roughly 15-20 minutes to get our food. It looked delicious and after our first bite we were loving it! The salad was a nice size and good. My lamb burger was so moist and delicious. My husband said his was really good. I had to taste it and omg, the panko crusted chicken was amazing! Cooked to perfection and juicy. We decided to split dessert which we decided on their bread pudding. It's not your traditional bread pudding but we loved it. Prices were average what you would pay at a nice restaurant....about $5 cheaper per item than if you went to Tahoe. The only thing I would recommend would be to offer a few more dinner & lunch items. Their menu is not huge so a few more options would be nice especially if they have regulars coming in. Can't wait to try something different next time we come in. read more

We tried the new clubhouse shortly after it opened with high hopes--we loved the old country club--and we were left with an overall feeling of meh. Since it was so close to opening, and to take advantage of their kids-eat-free promo, we decided to try again. Let's start with the positives: that bar is hopping. Their happy hour menu looks and sounds good, and we got drinks served to our table from the bar, and they were tasty. All started off well. I ordered the pasta with blackened chicken and added shrimp, my husband had the ribeye, and our kids had the cheese pizza and butter noodles respectively. The kids' food came out first. The flatbread pizza was what you'd expect, which is fine for a kid's menu. Nothing to write home about, but it does the trick. The butter noodles were actually very tasty! I snuck a bite while making sure it was cool enough for my youngest. My pasta, however, was not great. The chicken was not blackened--it was barely seasoned. And it was obviously some pre-cooked slices of frozen chicken. The little chunks seemed to be commercially-prepared, compressed chicken breast The taste was so off-putting, I stopped eating the chicken altogether. The shrimp, which is an add-on or substitution option, was cooked well and had good flavor. The vegetables were some frozen diced mix that were soggy and lifeless. The sauce itself was just ok. No depth of flavor and needed more salt and pepper. I would not be surprised if the sauce, chicken, and veggies were some pre-made, frozen mixture they received from their supplier, to which they added the pasta, shrimp, and some diced tomatoes. I stopped eating my meal and ate my youngest's unfinished pasta instead. It comes with no salad or bread and a hearty price tag. I definitely do not recommend. My husband's steak was cooked to the ordered temperature (mid-rare), and they did have blue cheese crumbles, which he always adds. The cut was of low quality, however, so the overall experience was subpar. Broccolini was cooked well but under seasoned. Mashed potatoes were fine. We won't be back, unless it's a date night happy hour bar situation. read more

I was very pleased for the most part with the food. We had the coconut shrimp for a starter which were excellent. For our main dishes we had the chicken pasta and the ribs. The pasta was very good but the ribs were very dry. Our server was the best part she was great but I do not recall her name. She was very on top of things. I see reviews that say the portions are small we did not find that to be the case. Prices are a little high but not out of line. read more

I don't know where to start. The portions weren't big enough to feed a child. We ordered a salad for my husband and it never came. And the biggie for us NO BREAD!! The vegetables were so under cooked that you couldn't even cut into the broccoli and the one carrot was pretty hard too! The only redeeming factor was the Georgia Cheese cake! It was delicious. Super crispy on the outside tender and warm on the inside. Falls straight off the bone. The new ownership has really given this old place a nice, fresh facelift. From the craft cocktails to the broad range of delicious dishes, I highly recommend giving this place a try! The staff is friendly and it feels like they are really finding their groove down at the Club House. I really like that the bar is separated from the main dining area. We've been customers of Norbert's Country Club since 2006, and having lunch here today under new ownership was refreshing. Food and service was beyond reproach. We indulged in Shrimp App, Western Burger, Fish and Chips (both with nice hot crispy fries), and topped it off with Blueberry Bread Pudding with a Vanilla Ice Cream add. Went to dinner at the Clubhouse with some friends and had a fabulous experience! The maple flavor and texture on the brussel sprouts were a highlight. I ordered the swordfish for my main, served on a bed of green beans with a sauce that paired perfectly. I also tried the shrimp scampi and fish n chips- both were a hit with everyone! The restaurant is super kid friendly, our 5 year old had crayons and activities to entertain herself with while some of the adults played bar games with the bartender.
