I can't believe there's a coffee bean near me again. Do you guys remember when the West Covina mall had a coffee bean?! I know there's one near the Puente hills mall but it's just not the same since it's part of Krispy Kreme (which can be dangerous, if you know what I mean) Anywho, the first time I came here was last Sunday - drive thru before work. I had ordered and they gave me my total & when I got to the window, they told me "don't worry about paying, Wescom is paying for your drink today!" -- it was so nice of them & totally made my morning. This past Sunday, I went again and this time we went inside. There's a huge parking lot so I can't see parking being an issue, the store itself is pretty big. It's beautiful and brand spankin' new. The girls who work there are beyond nice and welcoming. We ordered 2 Everything bagels, toasted w/cream cheese, a blueberry scone, a pure chocolate iced blended and an original mocha iced blended. I have been to other coffee bean locations since I'm a local in Baldwin Park, this is my go-to place for coffee. Their coffee is pretty good in general, it's not that weak trashy coffee. This coffee spot is kept clean and nice. Wait time has been okay but understandable since a lot of shops like these are struggling to find employees now-a-days. Normally it's not that bad. The service is usually great. I frequent this place enough to know the people that work here, haha. Susie has been there for awhile, one of the best baristas there. Since COVID, they hired some new workers & Abel is another barista that sticks out of their new hires. ALSO, Marta is REALLY GREAT TOO; helped me remake my drink whenever something was off. Okay. So I had bad luck at first visit. The place wasn't busy but it took unreasonably long for the barista to take my order. And they got it wrong. The restroom was always occupied. The Internet wasn't working. It was like four months ago. I gave the place a second try yesterday. This time they actually greeted me, took my order promptly and got it accurate. I have also recently tried their rose hazelnut latte, which was a bit on the floral side, but still very delicious and different. They also have GREAT TEA. The best part about this location is that they have a drive thru and it is super adjacent to the 10 Freeway. The staff is friendly and polite, which is the only reason I go back often. However, today I was totally appalled. I ordered a medium coffee, with hazelnut flavoring, the employee advised that there would be an extra charge, which was fine. But, this is where the issue was, I then asked her to steam the half and half to keep my coffee hot, she then informed me that there would be an extra charge for the steaming as well. During these times of low foot traffic I would imagine all hands on deck are made available for drive thru orders, in particular when the lobby is empty. 2 lattes took atlmost 15 minutes today....for 2 drinks, that is way too long. Even w a car ahead, which was only 1 drink from what I saw. Staring in from the drive thru window and seeing 4 or 5 people in there, I question how efficient they are or supervising skills. Nobody came back just to let me know my order was almost ready or what not. 2 people manning the hot bar and 2 on cold should make drinks come out as fast you need them....13-20sec for ur espresso to brew to go with ur ready dairy or non dairy base, added flavors...should be quick...5 minutes tops... A few months ago I was very excited to find out there was a Coffee Bean at this location as it is very convenient for me to go to on my way to work at home! I've probably been here at least 15-20 times. I am a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf lover. My go-to and favorite drink is the Iced Chai Latte... second fav Ultimate Hazelnut Iced Blended. I've come here for the last time tonight, Thursday 9-26 at 8:30 pm. The reason is this: poor/rude customer service and lack of consistency in the flavor in my iced chai drinks. There has been a handful of times where they've tasted soooo delicious like I know them to taste. (There is one by my work in Downey that I visit regularly and the one in Glendora is another Coffee Bean I constantly frequent). All the other times they are unusually watered down, where you can hardly taste the chai, or it is practically all full of ice. I happen to get the 32 oz. because I want more iced chai liquid, not ice to make the 24 oz. be a 32 oz.! So frustrating! Anyhow, the last few times I started speaking up and saying something like "I'm sorry, this tastes watered down and I can't taste the chai" ... they've remade it for me, but don't seem to get it right. Tonight they obviously didn't want to deal with me, they re-made my drink (I think), but it was filled with ice! Usually my 32 oz lasts me half tonight and the other half in the morning no prob! Tonight I was done in 5 minutes, no exaggeration! I was sad! Plus the girl that helped me, was clearly frustrated with me by the way she grabbed the drink back to remake it. Oops, I'm sorry... I absolutely love the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. They have amazing drinks, however, this precise location was absolutely the worst experience. I had placed an order through the app 15 minutes prior my lunch break but after the estimated time of delivery had passed, I never received my order. Unfortunately, after speaking with Martha, the manager she informed me that a Door Dash driver had already left to deliver my order and in fact, delivers to the wrong person with the wrong last name and wrong address. (Keep in mind we verified details of my order and information). When I asked for a full refund, Martha stated she was unable to refund me and that I had to call DoorDash direct. I understand your position MARTHA, but I spent my entire lunch break connecting with a DoorDash representatives and specialist in order to clarify the situation and resolve it. The task was simple: refund me for the mistake between miscommunication between YOUR store and YOUR third party. I never got to eat during that break. Don't order at this location. Management is horrible with customer service and apparently bad at resolving issues. UPDATE: I got in contact with corporate CBTL. Apparently, the manager at this location was suppose to refund me. So I put on what I had a bandana covering my nose and mouth and they refused me service because the manager felt it was not and "appropriate" Or "legal" mask ??
