Why, oh why, do they make it soooo cold inside?? I love how there are so many seats, big and small tables, and sofas available - which is perfect for studying. But every time I come, my hands are literally shaking. I think I can study there about 1.5 hour max before freezing away. That's really my only major complaint but I think blasting the AC is a trend I've been seeing amongst most coffee beans. Besides that, I absolutely LOVE going for the tea lattes. I ask for the tea menu and choose a tea that sounds good to me that day and ask for that tea latte. It's always so good (hot or cold). Today, I was up to step away from my favorite Starbucks and try something new. This coffee/tea house is a great place for studying/working; outlets available for every chair, plenty of group study areas, nice sitting outside. The Internet is free, but too slow; both computer and phone legged big time. Coffee was too sweet; I asked for reg skinny charnel macchiato like drink. Definitely, it was overdone on Carmel. I came here right after having Olive Pit. I had an iced coffee. The coffee was good but I don't think it's as a good deal as Starbucks. You actually get more at Starbucks than you do at Coffee Bean based on size and price of the drink. Iced coffee refills also costs a dollar. But I do like their coffee. I like to come here whenever I need to write a paper or catch up on a book. There's ample seating, but because of that it's always full. And if you're like me and plan to stay for a few hours you'll probably finish your drink, so luckily there's a water spout you can fill up on rather than going back up to the counter and wasting away another plastic cup and further destroying the environment! The drink prices are fair comparable to that of starbucks, but I would say coffee bean has a fresher taste. For coffee drinkers who enjoy the taste of coffee, you'll probably like this place a lot better. This one is one of the roomiest and most convenient Coffee Beans I've ever been to. It can probably seat 40-50 or so. There's a Trader Joe's next door, which is always a plus. There's a pizza place, various other markets, and eateries. This is a great place to bring your laptop. The interior is very spacious, clean, with lots of study tables, padded seats with electric sockets in the front, there are stools by the windows, and even patio seating. There's also a Drive-Thru. I usually wind up just chilling here, working on my laptop whenever I get here. Free Wi-Fi with no need for passwords is nice too. My friend and I were tired of the crowded starbucks shops around the area. We just wanted a place to study and to get coffee. Is that too much to ask for? We decide to change it up and get Coffee Bean. This location was absolutely perfect for studying! No restrictions on wi-fi, many chairs and tables to study on, and not crowded at all! We easily found a spot to settle (with outlets!) and no line to order our drinks. I got the hazelnut latte which I actually prefer as a frap but the latte was a great study buddy. Not sure if it's just me but I think CB caffeine is a lot stronger than SB. Finding a good study spot is crucial as a college student! This is a short podcast from Saile & Fe at the CB&TL. We were very happy with the server who was very patient with our madness. The drinks were great and the chairs super comfy. Even though we ordered iced teas that weren't the teas of the day they came super fast though they were supposed to take longer to get brewed. Cool. And the a/c was perfect. This location had improved as far as the taste of their drinks. It is always busy since it is located in a shopping center with rarely any places to park. There is indoor and outdoor seating which is always taken. The benefit of this location is that they have a drive thru as most CBTL don't. In comparison to other coffee shops, CBTL uses powder instead of syrup on most of their coffee based/tea drinks which gives you more of a rich flavored taste. My favorite, favorite, favorite drink is the Malibu Dream. It is a smoothie blended with strawberry & banana juice, CBTL's french deluxe vanilla powder, and topped with their best tasting whip cream. CBTL's whip cream is so delicious! This is one of the best tasting drinks they have to offer; I highly recommend to try. Also, I like their Blood Orange Sweet Tea (cold) when I am in the mood for something refreshing. I prefer this drink sweet, so I make sure to tell them to add more sweet tea without the need to add sugar. Always taste your drinks before you leave to make sure it's to your satisfaction. I've been a fan of the Coffee Bean for a long time, and was very happy to see that they opened a new location near my house, and with a drive-thru! The inside of this location is very spacious, with a variety of seating including tables, bar tables, and couches. I especially appreciate the outdoor seating, they have two lounge style sitting areas, and then three other patio tables. The free internet is also a plus, although I find the 2-hour limit a little short (when studying) and it can be slow at times. The staff seem to be very friendly and helpful. I usually order an iced latte with whole milk, which seems to have a nice balanced flavor and the espresso is not to strong or weak. I also find their flavored teas delicious. I actually find their mochas and flavored drinks to be too much on the sweet side, but it is usually not a problem just to ask them to make the drink with less powder. Tried one of the new summer drinks, a large iced vanilla coffee. Not thrilled, hardly any flavor. And left a powdery residue around the cup! WHAT THE HECK!! The large iced vanilla coffee I get from McDonald's has more flavor than this did, and costs 2$ cheaper. I love Coffee Bean! But the last two times I have been to this location near closing time, they have locked their doors before 9:30. Now I don't like being the person showing up before closing but I figured it wouldn't be too big of a deal and tonight I got there at 9:25 to drive thru and there was a cone blocking the drive thru so I got out and their door was locked. I checked their posted hours and they close at 9:30. I knocked on the window and the girl came out and told me they had to close early because of an injury, which if it were true, maybe they should post a note on the door? I also have never heard of a business closing for an injury, but who am I to say it doesn't happen. You couldn't pay me enough to clean your men's bathroom. Let's recap: - coffee... Good for being a chain - service... Depends on the day and time - space/seating... Plentiful and a nice outdoor seating area. They also have a great area against their windows that look out to imperial highway that is nice for natural lighting - temperature... Bring a jacket even in the summer - ambiance... Mixed crowd but really chill and able to get work done while still socialize. BUT THE BATHROOMS!!! I'm only speaking about the men's room at this point...I honestly think they follow the "spring cleaning" concept for this location because it looks like they only go in there once a year. I've seen urinals in nightclubs, at 1:45am in the peak of the drunkards pissfest, cleaner than this. And don't get me started on the toilet and government issued TP. Just hope that nothing splashes back or you'll be needing to get a special ointment for whatever hits you. Like I always say, coffee and toilets come hand and hand. Relative to other Coffee Beans (and I LOVE CBTL), the pros are only GIANT space with lots of space and seating, and the drive-thru. What drives me ABSOLUTELY MAD is that more times than not the wi-fi isn't working or is aggravatingly slow. Of course, maybe it's my fault for not checking before I order my drink but nothing makes me angrier than paying for a drink, sitting down to do work and not being able to, or having to log in to my phone's mobile hotspot. The staff doesn't care. They say it's on and working, sorry. Drive thru medium coffee and they fill it to the absolute rim of the cup. When liquids are hot and in cardboard cups it will cause them to fold easy especially when filled to the point that if you pick it the wrong way the lid pops off and coffee is everywhere, which was my case about 10 minutes ago. This place is poorly managed and slow. Every time I come here, I need to wait. Doesn't matter if there's no one in line or several. They always make you wait. Meanwhile there's usually 6-7 people behind the counter busy doing whatever it is they're doing.
