Horrible experience! One drink had to be remade 3 times for it to be right. The girl at the register was sweet and apologized for our drinks being made incorrectly but the others didn't seem to care about anything other than the drive thru line. We waited almost 25 mins to get our drinks. I asked the guy making the coffees if he was making our drinks over for us and he said, "sorry the drive thru line got really busy." This is not just a negative rant for the sake of complaining it is meant as a genuine bit of feedback for the franchise owner. You cannot have super slow service both inside and in the drive thru in particular during morning rush hour. I have gone to the drive thru four times in the last 30 days and every single time the line has not just been super long but is taking forever to get to the window. This is not a matter of impatience this is clearly a matter of not having enough employees during peak hours. Not a big fan of their limited breakfast selections. Such a large venue for a coffee place and still they have a very limited breakfast selections. Plenty of drinks and pastries but very few breakfast sandwiches to choose from and the three choices they have are very weird. I noticed this drive thru Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on my way to our pediatrician office in Yorba Linda. On our way back, I realized I was hungry and I only ate 2 out of the 6 times a day I normally eat. I decided to get a small Earl Grey Tea latte ($3.50). I forgot to ask for less sugar but it was perfect and a very yummy and filling drink that is around 150-200 calories. I read on the sleeve that they only use whole tea leaves and they only use the two top tea leaves. I also love they iced teas and they have a huge selection! read more

This location seems a bit sterile, like it's too close to the freeway or something, I dunno. It's 9:10pm and I am taking my family to see the Christmas lights. We stopped at Coffee Bean to get 4 Hot Chocolates. My 10 year old son had to pee very bad so I pulled into a stall before getting into the drive thru line so we could get out and go inside so he could relieve himself. A policewoman was just walking out of the store and as I grabbed the door she said that they were closing. There was an employee standing behind her ready to lock the doors. I asked if we could quickly visit the bathroom as my son couldn't hold it. He VERY RUDELY said he wouldn't let us in. His humanity was lacking and he didn't give a shit that a young kid was doing the pee pee dance in his Christmas Pajamas. We immediately left and went across the street to McDonalds to visit their bathroom. I took my family to Starbucks and purchased 4 Peppermint Hot Chocolates. I will never come to Coffee Bean again. This was my go-to store for a while. I love the convenience of the location (where I run errands and do grocery shopping) and that they have a drive thru. The staff here are pretty friendly. I saw on the app that they open really early, 4:30 am. I commute to Irvine from Placentia for work and decided to drive here first to get my early morning coffee. They weren't quite open yet when I arrived but the gentleman that greeted me at the door was super accommodating. He made my drink and I was out the door and made it to work in record time. Service here is bad for such a wonderful chain of stores. I prefer Coffee Bean over Starbucks but I dread coming here quite often. A common issue has been receiving other people's drinks instead of our own. This seems to have stopped as I'm sure people complained, and now I noticed that they label drinks during peak hours. Some of the baristas man...I'm not sure if it is the coffee driving them crazy or boredom from stirring powder all day but some of the employees here can be downright mean for no obvious reason. There was one fellow a year or two back who was particularly nasty to me one day after I got the wrong drink (again) and went back instead of taking it and not saying anything. I wrote to the branch specifically because of that occurrence and stopped going for months - I was a regular and he knew me and my family. I didn't understand the hostility and wasn't demanding a refund or legal action. I wasn't upset and was willing to work with them as maybe I was in the wrong. That was until he blew me off and didn't acknowledge anything I asked. I noticed since he left the incidences of swapped orders has gone down considerably. The drive thru honestly, is terrible. Somehow information gets lost in translation, your order ends up being completely different than what you asked. Typically it's the drink size or missing purchases. Pastries not heated up or completely forgotten. Weird looks when handed e-gift cards. This is one of those coffee houses with a high turnover rate so you go here for a month and the next there's a new crop of faces to deal with. If the coffee here wasn't so good I probably would go to the one down by Jamba or Yorba Linda. I'm hoping they'll open more Coffee Beans in my area soon (especially drive thru!). read more

I love the CBTL! I also love the location, the roominess and the fact that it has a drive thru! I haven't seen very many that have one. I come to this location about 2-3x a week and I've always had great service and never have to wait too long for my drink. I can't recommend any speciality drinks, as I usually only drink my coffee black but I have had their ice blends a time or two and they're sooo good! I wouldn't recommend studying or working here as this location is always busy, noisy and the wifi is awful but it's a good place to hangout and chat for a bit. If you decide to stay, Make sure you bring a jacket...it gets cold!! read more

I ADORE THIS PLACE!!! So much study space, clean, has a men and women restroom,plenty of outlets, and not freakishly cold. It's clean , they play Bob Marley and there is a drive through. She tried to redeem online, website did not take it. Wife forwarded email to me and I drove down to get coffee item for my wife figuring location would honor (or else why email a promotion for people to visit location in the first place? it worked, I was there to buy something). Little barista guy said I needed to bring in my wife's phone. WTH? So if I was picking up coffee for my office mates with similar e-coupons, would I need to bring everyone phones? A great place to study but the staff is not the greatest. I walked in and straight to the cash register and then had to wait over 5 minutes for them to take my order as they were talking to one another. They were perfectly aware I was waiting but I guess I am not that important. This has happened many times and I have begun bringing Starbucks coffee into the coffee bean. That said their vanilla iced coffee is good if you are willing to wait to get your order taken. In summary I recommend this place to get work done. I just wish the employees were more responsive. I got mango cold brew tea! It was good, tasted like it usually does. Decided to sit inside and get some work done. One of the baristas (not sure of their name, but one that was possibly on drive thru) was walking around cleaning up. An older man with a cane was struggling to get up. He was trying to leave. He couldn't walk with his cane and hold all of his stuff. The barista picked up the mans stuff and went out of his way to help the man go out to his car. While visiting back home, I always make a point of going to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf almost everyday. The Anaheim location where I used to frequent has since closed. I think this Brea location is my new favorite now. I love that it's a drive thru. Awesome!! They keep the drive thru running quickly and smoothly. The people at the window were pretty friendly each time. I did go inside once, but I think I'll stick with the drive-thru. The cashier that was at the front when I went inside was not friendly and kind of on the sour side. My drinks each time were consistently good and just how I like them. They have two larger 6 seater tables, which could work for larger gatherings, but it's a gamble if you can get here when they're vacant. Could use a few more power outlets though. So I guess I'll have the ginseng peppermint tea with lemon and honey instead. Get up to the window. "Excuse me! What did you guys order again?" Repeated the order back. Drove away. Drank my fuckn steaming HOT tea that burned my bottom lip. Did not taste any lemon or honey. Get my order right next time and don't make the tea sooooo freakn hot!!!
