Today I waited in the drive thru for over 30mins just to get to the window and be told that their card reader isn't working. I don't carrier cash on me so I was very upset to have my time wasted. The lady at the window wasn't very pleasant either which made this experience even more upsetting. I know the card reader isn't anyone's fault but they should let us know upfront or come out to let us know so we don't waste our time. Also customer service needs to be improved. read more

Worst coffee bean ever. Not only do you wait in line for 40 mins to get your coffee but once you get to the window the tell you "our card reader isn't working" luckily I had cash on me but I usually don't. Came here twice and seems whatever coffee making system you have going for the drive thru isn't working as well as getting off. Went through the Drive-Thru on Saturday evening and it wasn't very busy. Customer service was great & quick at the window. My friends drink was well made and my boyfriend enjoyed his coffee as well. This review is not for the drinks but for the staff. Every time I've placed a mobile order and walk in, I am never acknowledged and just stand there awkwardly. The staff always seem annoyed and I saw a girl ask about her second drink to which the employee responded "we're working on it, we have a lot of drinks to make," in an annoyed tone. When I received my drinks it was missing the whipped cream (which I did put on my order in the app) I said excuse me several times with no answer, finally a girl who looked like she had just started her shift was friendly and helped me. Always issues at this location. Last week it's the headsets not working at drive thru, so they had to "close early" (they put up a cone stopping people from going through the drive-through at 9:20 pm but whatever). Today I walk in to put in an order inside. As soon as I walk up, I hear the cashier telling the customer "we're all out of the $5 gift cards for the promo" the Christmas promo was buy a $25 gift card and get an extra $5 gift card on the side... I wasn't there for that, but if I was, I'd be mad that they don't have enough gift cards available for their promo. However, the promo I was there to use was COFFEE BEAN 5, which on their website states walk-in orders only, purchase any large handcrafted beverage for $5. On top of their register, they have a little sign stating "Baristas Choice- Mary's drink- Vietnamese cold brew with boba." Pretty simple, right? So I tell the girl "I'll take Mary's drink, large, use coupon COFFEE BEAN 5." "My district manager said we're not doing that promo anymore." She replies. I immediately pull up the promo on their website and show her my phone where the promo says good till 1/2/25. She insists that her manager said it's no longer available. I ask to speak to the lead. She tells me the same thing, district manager says the promo is over. What about it still showing active on your official website, I ask? Uhhh, we don't know that's just what we were told, is her response. She then tells me she'll "do it this time." Like she's doing me some favor by honoring an active promotion advertised on their official website. So now I'm waiting on my drink. There's another lady complaining in the lobby about them giving her drink order to the wrong customer, so now she's waiting on her drink to be remade. I can see it's been a tough night for these workers. Finally, my drink gets called out. Sure enough, they forgot to add the boba. I walk back to the counter annoyed at this point and tell the girl "you guys forgot the boba." "You want extra boba?" She asks? No, I tell her. I don't want EXTRA boba, I want the boba that the drink was SUPPOSED to come with that was left out. read more

Got into the drive thru only find out their decaf machine wasn't working. I was now stuck in the drive thru during rush hour. They should have at least put out a sign to warn customers their machine was broken before getting into the drive thru lane. I live across the street from this location. I have always had polite, friendly service each time I've come here. I usually request their drinks with NSA low sugar mix so I don't have to feel like I'm consuming tons of sugar. Their PSL is probably the best I've had-it's the only one that ACTUALLY tastes like pumpkin and not just the spices. The peppermint mochas are really good too without being overpowering. I feel like they blend their drinks better than SB. Tip for app users: You have to have bought something within two months of redeeming your free birthday drink! This use to be a pretty good location 4me but my last few visits are suspect? On two different occasions my coffee was not hot and taste water down, also my last visit I went inside to order was ignored for about a minute no one else was at the counter but me I was not greeted as a guest to this business as the team that was there continued to engaged with each other joking and giggling now don't get me wrong I'm all about laughter and fun but this was different it was in a rude way. It's nice to come across a CB&TL in OC as there seems to be less here. This location looks very new, with a fresh look and small inside, definitely with a drive-through focus in their service. But of all the times I've gotten my regular large iced hazelnut latte, NEVER have i ever gotten this much ice!!! I did not pay almost 7 dollars for a large cup of ice and a splash of coffee.. i don't even think they put an extra shot like i paid for. A good time had by all I haven't had a bad experience yet. I've only done the drive-thru, and aside from some long lines and kind over it employees, this is a really good location. I find Coffee Bean in general isn't as consistent as the other major coffee chains. For me, this location has been pretty on point each time with their drinks. I have done a pre-order twice this week. The first time, my iced drink had been sitting there for 10 minutes without a name, before they labeled it. And they only realized their error bc I had to ask. The staff was rude when I didn't want the drink. The manager, Alanis, displayed the same poor attitude when I called to complain. Today, I went again and once my drink was on the counter in the back. 5 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, I inquired if it was almost time. They grabbed that drink that had been sitting in the back, and put a lid on it and proceeded to hand it to me. I said he was supposed to have whip. The gal rolled her eyes, read the label, and passed the drink off to someone else to put whip on, but never said a word to me. We love this Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf because it has a drive-thru and that they're taking all the COVID-19 precautions. Staff wears gloves, requires masks, and even hands your drinks to you via a tray to limit the contact. This one is nestled on Lambert, so it doesn't get as crazy as the one off Imperial, which is a plus and the line usually moves pretty fast. My go-to is the iced vanilla latte with oak milk. Not only does it taste sweet without being overly sugary, the espresso shots give me that jolt of life that I need first thing in the morning or mid-afternoon. When not in the mood for coffee, their iced teas are always a good treat. Note, not all of them are sweetened, so best to ask ahead of time, or get some sugar on the side to add later to your heart's desire. read more

I really like that at this location they can have a drive thru! The old brea location did not have that option and with COVID it is a blessing. The entrance to the drive thru through me off at first but all ended up fine. I had not been to coffee bean for a while and I was craving a cookie butter iced blended! They are my favorite drinks to get here. I have yet to have a bad one. I got the medium and it was the perfect size. I miss getting the mini doughnuts along with my coffee. There was little wait time from when I placed my order & when my drink was ready. It made for a very smooth morning for me. read more

I placed my mobile order during the "morning rush hour", went in the store, the barista- Rebecca checked my order, they did not received it. But she still honored my order, when I checked my app, the location was accidently set on Imperial one. I tried to offer to pay, but she still insist it's ok. Waited for another 10 minutes, finally got my order. She apologized again for the wait. Clearly she did not have to honor my order and no need to apologize for the wait since I misplaced the location. But she showed a true honorable customer service which we haven't seeing much since COVID.... 2. I hate to say this, but the rest of the "team" there was pretty much a mess..... Rebecca kept checking the order, helped mobile order pick up line, she actually kept track who's order was made and kept the order flow going.
