This Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf location is located in Ventura in the Montalvo plaza. This has become my go to location, and to to be totally honest the first time I came here I really had to pee and didn't know where else to go. They do have two restrooms here that are unisex. But there are codes that you need to be able to get in there. I was a dummy and wasn't sure how to actually use it I was pressing the buttons a little too quick and they weren't registering and then finally figured out that once you press on it it will react right away. My go to drink here is the mocha latte with an extra shot. The tea lattes are a huge favorite of mine too. If you have the app you're able to get points in check in and redeem rewards. There tends to be plenty of parking all over the plaza. This side of the plaza tends to be a little busier and during lunch times it might be hard to find because there's a lot of different restaurants around here. read more

This was my first time to this location. I decided to try a Dirty Chai with an extra chai tea bag. I think I found the my perfect match for a chai and coffee lover. It's a chai tea with a shot of espresso. It kind of tasted like a hint of chocolate in it. It hit the spot for a Sunday morning of errands. This location is my favorite, on Victoria across from Trader Joe's and Green Thumb. I can sit in a quiet location on the patio and enjoy their tropical passion iced tea filled with perfect graupel ice, the small crunchy kind. Their breakfast sandwiches are great, too. I have been a customer since 2001 The first location I visited when I started being a customer was the store at Rose Ave in Oxnard California and I recently moved to Ventura. During my visits to the Oxnard location I met the manager Gabriel Laguna. A few days ago I visited the Victoria Ave location and he was there when I went back to get a refill as soon as I was ready to pay he interrupted the young girl that was helping me and humiliated me and disrespected me very bad. He made comments that the are consider discriminative. After saying what ever he wanted to me I said to him that I was not asking for anything for free and told him to change me the full price for my refill and he said that he was just joking with me. After disrespecting me and treating me like trash he said he was joking a few times. Just because look dirty because of their work doesn't mean that they are going to ask for free stuff. I work hard to get paid and buy whatever I need or want. Gabriel Laguna is the worst person I ever met during all this years as a customer. The rest of the employees are very nice and respectful not just to me but to everybody else. read more

Some years back we used to alternate between CBTL, Starbucks, and a few local independent coffee houses. Sadly, there isn't a CBTL close to our house now, and one of the locations we used to enjoy in Thousand Oaks (with outdoor fire pit) closed down. It had been a while since we'd been to one, in other words. Recently, we were in Ventura to get away from the inland heat, and had dinner at Caribbean Haven. Since I'm avoiding dairy these days, I couldn't share in the halo halo that Dear Hubby had ordered. He suggested that we sit outside while he had his dessert, then offered to get me something from Coffee Bean. I remembered their ice blended drinks, and had the mocha version. It was really pleasant to sit out front as the air temperature slowly cooled off as the sun was getting ready to set. CBTL sits at the end of a group of casual dining restaurants, near a small landscaped embankment. Beyond is a driveway leading to another section of the shopping plaza. The way the land is graded, it's like a small oasis the way the planter beds are set up. That added to a bit of relaxed feeling as the weekend wound down. We might try that combo again - Filipino food at Caribbean Haven, and beverages from Coffee Bean after. It's great that they're neighbors! read more

Their drinks are much richer, creamier, and satisfying than Starbucks'. They are priced competitively and their stores are clean. I love this location and I love CBTL. There's no shame in my game. I got several gift cards for the holidays and jumped into 2020 with a new signature drink for myself: Peppermint ginseng tea latte over ice. I'm #obsessed. I've been here more times in 2020 then I have in all of 2019; sorry not sorry. Every time I've come here the staff are friendly and talkative. But not in a pushy way. Plus, even if any of them hate their job - which I know they don't - they do not show it! I despise going to businesses where I'm greeted by crabby staff. Honestly - not once have I walked out of here with a bad taste in my mouth - no pun intended! This is a huge thing for me. Location is so very convenient, too. Be prepared though the parking sucks, Really and truly sucks. Good luck if you're here around lunch trying to find parking. I'd park at Ralph's and walk over if need be. I'm super disappointed. I don't like to order from Postmates but I had to due to limited time. Anyways I ordered a iced cold brew. When it was outside on my front door it was leaking everywhere! Maybe the absurd person that dropped it off just dropped it or I don't know what happened. I have the pictures and receipt. Postmates needs to stop hiring lazy ass people. As always, the employees are courteous and friendly. They are super efficient, skillful and get the job done right the first time. This is a perfect place for those who are in a time crunch; in need of a good drink and something to munch on before hitting the road. There are a variety of food and refreshment items to pick. The favorite spring seasonal choices are the Irish creme and midnight mocha cold brew. The coffee clientes are also in for a treat. They advised I try the vanilla iced latte and winter dream tea latte and they were both absolutely delicious. :D The winter dream tea latte was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet and had a gingerbread after taste which paired well with my gingerbread cookie. ^_^The vanilla iced latte with oat milk was perfect and smooth with a subtle coffee taste. I was really happy with the staff and service. They went above and beyond to make my experience memorable and coffee choice perfect. Sure there's plenty of coffee places in this area to choose from but you should be choosing this location. There's no one like CBTL. The quality of coffee and teas they have, can't be touched. Best unsweetened iced tea I've ever had, several flavors to choose from. You can even make a tea latte. That's right. TEA LATTE! You haven't had one? GET ONE! You won't regret it. I grew up in this area and moved out of state. You know where my first stop was coming into town?? This place. I told my husband how wonderful it was. Staff is still great and he said this was the BEST coffee he's ever had. That's saying something coming from the Pacific Northwest. They are surrounded with coffee options and trust me he's tried plenty. He fell in love with CBTL coffee and I know we will always be on the lookout for one. They have a rewards app now! i felt so embarrassed walking in. i came in at 6:02 AM just because my app wasn't working. there was 2 people working at the time and they did not once acknowledge me. they stared at me standing in line and continued to ignore me , i waited an extra 3 minutes or so and they still continued to stare at me. i was so embarrassed and having to walk out because they were just not worth my service anymore but , when getting back into the car they took another lady's order with no issue they also great her with kindness. i hope they have the day they deserved. read more

One of my favorite locations when in Ventura! It's a great atmosphere awesome customer service and the vibes here are like no other. Currently running a friends promo for a limited here and the drinks with the characters names are sooo sooo hilarious! The decor and openness of this specific locations is awesome! It is very clear that the employees there do not want to be there, nor do they care to help a customer almost every time I go in the other, give me a weird dirty looks or they roll their eyes at me, or make me feel just unwelcome and uncomfortable. The staff there also can't seem to get orders right? There's been countless times where I've ordered tea with honey, and they never put honey in the tea. This one time I watch the employee make my tea not add honey and then I proceeded to ask her. Oh, you put honey in here oh yeah, we already put the honey in there. Definitely a fan of this place. It's unfortunate that there aren't as much drive-through Coffee Bean & Tea locations as there are of the competitor, but I was happy to come across this large location in Ventura. Although it was a little inconvenient making the U-turn to turn into the appropriate parking spot, I found this store to a one of the larger ones I've been to which plenty of tables for people to sit and do work here. I ordered my usual hazelnut latte with half a scoop of the powder and an extra shot of espresso and it was amazing as always. I actually forgot to take a picture because, well, the obsession is real. The store wasn't as clean and the pastry display wasn't as fully stocked but it wouldn't stop me from visiting again. I'm loyal to CBTL. The customer service is also top-notch, per usual.
