We've been here a few times in the past year or so. I never ate at the old location - it didn't draw me in. This place is fresher and cleaner than lot of places especially considering all of the kitschy stuff all over the dining area. The place is large enough but parking is limited considering the number of seats. The food is nothing to write home about. On this visit, I got what I usually get - two eggs over easy with home fries and toast. This time I ordered a side of bacon. The yolks were not over cooked but the whites were brown, (griddle too hot). I got 4 slices of bacon but they needed to be blotted from the grease. The potatoes are flavorless - they have definitely lost their salt and pepper shakers in the back (every time I come here that has been my home fries experience). My significant other ordered the eggs Benedict special. The English muffin was not toasted and the hollandaise sauce had started to break - not appealing. The coffee was good and fresh and we got a refill. I have similar feelings with regard to service here. It's often not friendly and you don't feel like they are there to serve you. I grew up down the street from The Coffee Station, and have gone there a few times over the years. I hadn't been there since the new location opened, and decided to go one day for breakfast. First of all, the coffee was terrible, and my coffee cup was dirty and had a chip in it. The menu is what really pissed us off. There are comments on the menu along the lines of "Good customers don't order small dollar items" and "labor intensive" written in parentheses next to hash browns. Big deal.... You're a breakfast place. You should offer inexpensive breakfast food and hash browns just like every single other breakfast place in existence. That really really put me off. And then when I ordered what I felt like ordering (eggs over medium, bacon and hash browns), I was put on a guilt trip by the waitress. When I got my breakfast, the eggs were over easy and not over medium. The whites weren't cooked and I couldn't eat it. Good food and friendly staff. Has a large but not too large menu with good choices. Like the bright atmosphere but liked the food better at old location. Chipped beef was good, was told it was homemade. Have only had breakfast here but everyone is always happy enough. Coffee was pretty good. Has a counter eating or tables. Has limited parking around building. Handicap parking right out front. Good for small or large groups and kids. Has a cheerful, colorful interior. Nice place to have a bite to eat. The Coffee Station has no more room on the walls for nick-nacks that they're utilizing menu margins to insert quips and puns. Get a breakfast sandwich on a pretzel roll. It gets crowded, and loud, and there might be a guitarist (or two) but thats the great thing about it. read more

This place is fun, there is trivia everywhere and plenty to look at on the walls. The food was o.k. warm, and eggs were fresh. The service does need some improvement, I agree with other yelper's.. where was our 2nd cup of coffee? It wasn't even offered or asked, finished the food on the plate, they came and took it away and left the bill, huh? We had eggs, bacon, hash browns (really just potatoes) and the Morton monster. So i wanted to wait to yelp about this place, really take it in in ya know. We have gone here a few times always on the weekend. I like the food. The food it good. I myself have had something diffirent each time and i have had no problems with the food. My other half will only get the Big John breakfast, he says its the best bang for the buck since he likes a bit of everything. The food to me gets 4 stars. Now the service.....as i think everyone on yelp has said, it needs some work. I myself am a server at a local place so I know what is expected and not. But there are way to many people coming to the table though the course of the meal. First the girl that gets your drinks, then your server, then someone else with your food, then someone else to ask if everything is okay, if you ask for something from one person another brings it. I Would like my server from start to end. I feel that is the only way to give good service. That is how i feel some may look at it in another way, that is fine. But maybe you should let some of those girls running around doing everything have a table for their self. read more

Stopped here for a cuppa joe but ended up ordering two over light with scrapple and rye toast. A unique diner with nice folks and an imaginative menu. Cool decorations and the back room is inside a bank vault. The mens room walls are covered with a collection of Eagles cheerleader photos. Came here over the weekend last weekend. I was a little afraid we would hit the church crowd and it was busy but not unreasonably so. We were sat and attended to promptly. The coffee was good but served scalding hot, needed to fill it with creamer and ice from my drink before daring to touch it. The staff were all friendly and attentive and did a great job at keeping the cups full. For breakfast I had the monster sandwich and a side of home fries. The home fries underwhelmed but the monster sandwich really hit the spot. On the menu it seemed ordinary to be called out as a coffee station special but it really was delicious. Apparently if I would have had another 3 of them in one sitting it would have been free, gotta love a good challenge! read more

The Coffee Station has great breakfast sandwiches.I ordered a turkey sausage egg and cheese on a croissant one Sunday morning around 10:00am. I was on limited time and decided to order it to go. When I walked in, the place was crowded. I've driven by the place so many times, but never took the time to walk in. Judging from the name, I just assumed it was a "mom-and-pop" coffee spot for those who refuse to purchase coffee from the big chains like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. The sandwich was really good. I've ordered breakfast sandwiches from other places in the area, especially with turkey sausage, and what I received was terrible. This was not the case with the Coffee Station. Bear with me because the explanation takes a minute. We came from Oregon and Ohio to celebrate our friend's 60th birthday. Our friend said this was her favorite breakfast spot. The service and food was good. We all had specific things we wanted and it all arrived just as we ordered it. Eggs, toast, scrapple, corned beef hash, Swiss and asparagus omelette, waffle, etc. All good and as we ordered it. I (the Ohio friend) paid for our dinner at Nifty Fifty's so the Oregon friend wanted to pay for breakfast at The Coffee Station. When it came time to pay, one of the local ladies in our group handed over her frequent diner card. The $50 bill would carry her far in her next discount. That's when the trouble started. The card was too close to the $100 mark to add the $50 so the cashier wanted to give us the $10 discount. The Oregon friend didn't want to do that so she didn't use the card. Upon discussion in the parking lot, we decided it was unfair that the $50 credit would not be counted so a 2nd conference was held at the cash register. It took way too long to decide to give the local person a 2nd card. I think we can all agree leaving without that $50 credit was not a possibility. I think The Coffee Station staff could have been quicker in coming up with a solution. BTW, the variety of mugs is a fun and different idea! read more

My family has been a frequent customer at the Morton Coffee Station for years but no longer go. First, a few weeks ago one of their waitresses greeted us at door and we asked for our regular waitress Patty. Then the waitress who greeted us threw the menus back in the holder and rudely told us to "go sit over there" in a very condescending tone! Then today we walked in at 12:53 and told "sorry ladies, we are done for the day!" Then lock the door or have sign you are closed BEFORE 1pm. There were more than a few tables of people eating! I understand it being a Holiday but if you close at 1pm and people come in before that should be seated! Plus some staffers are beyond rude to customers and owner does nothing!!! read more

Had breakfast from here and it wasn't that great. Eggs with cheese and scrapple on a Kaiser roll. Too many eggs for me bread was way too soft and not toasted like I request the scrapple was good. Home fries with onions not good at all, very bland barely ate any. 2.79 for a small paper cup of apple juice, I thought I was ordering a bottle. My fiancee grew up right down the street from here and now we live one town over. She always loved it growing up, and we figured we'd head over for breakfast. It was, without a doubt, the WORST breakfast ever. First off, it was incredibly crowded (WHY????) and there was nowhere to park and nowhere to wait for a table since the place is so crammed full of tacky, tacky, tacky junk. We elbowed our way through the crowd of slack-jawed mouth-breathers and made it to the counter. I was soon presented with a cup of nearly transparent, almost luke-warm (possibly tepid... is tepid colder than luke-warm?) liquid that tasted like charcoal. Apparently, it was "coffee" but I could barely recognize it as such. The surly waitress immediately demanded our order and left in a huff when we explained that we weren't quite ready (hadn't even had a chance to open the menu). Eventually, Queen Cranky returned and I ordered their combo-breakfast thing (two eggs, over easy, two pancakes, bacon, homefries). I will say this, it arrived very quickly. I only wish it hadn't, then I would have lived a little more of my life before subjecting myself to the horror they presented before me. It looked tasty enough, except they apparently never clean their pans or flat-top. My eggs, which were horribly overdone, and like everything else, cold, tasted like cinnamon. I assume french toast or something had been made on the same surface that my eggs were. The rest was worse. My cold, dry, gummy pancakes tasted like fish, as did my cold, mushy homefries. The "bacon" was two tiny shriveled strips that I can't imagine was ever actually part of a pig. God, it was awful. Please, I beg you all, don't go here. I don't know why it's so popular. This was my second trip (first to the new location) and after the mediocre experience I had before, I don't know why I returned. The crowd and the staff looked like a bunch of Jerry Springer rejects. Some emo grease-smear kept emerging from the kitchen to sneer at the rest of the bottom-feeders. The "cutesy" decor is nauseating. And it was raining. The rain wasn't, technically, the Coffee Station's fault, but if they had the power to make a meal even less pleasant, I'm sure they would have. read more

We have been coming here for the past 6 years. It seems to have fallen off a bit. We know mostly family works there, which sometimes gives the impression that they will treat you (the customer) like family in the ways they talk to you. For example, today I went to pay and I handed over my Customer Loyalty Card (that I only knew about, because they brought to my attention a few years ago when they started it-build up points based on purchases & get $$ off eventually) and then my gift card that I was using to pay. The older woman was working the register, (yes I understand that it is mostly her business, but still doesn't mean you can talk to people however you want). After I handed over the gift card, I was strongly informed that "You can't use both of those cards together", "I mean it doesn't matter now, because I already gave it to you" ok if that's your policy, I get it, but simply let me know. Never asked me how the service or food was, just letting me know how "lucky" I was that she gave me both "deals". Bottom line, the food is good, but service all around is falling off. Planning on using up the gift card and never going back again. read more

Woke up this morning, and decided the wife and I would go get some breakfast at a spot that's off the beaten path for a couple of south philly people. This place has the feel of an old time diner. The place is decorated with all kinds of retro photos, and a large collection of never before seen bobble heads. When we walked in, we were met by the manager, who sat us instantly at a table for two. The waitress was an older woman, who was very nice, and very attentive to our needs. The coffee is spot on, hot and fresh! The wife ordered bacon, egg and cheese on a roared Bagel, with a side of home fries. She said it was very good, not greasy at all. I ordered the two pancakes, with bacon, and two scrambled eggs. The pancakes were fluffy and light, and the eggs were not runny at all. The coolest part of this place are the coffee cups! No mug is the same. The mugs are a collection of mugs you would find in your kitchen, from the bright yellow happy face mug, to the mug from the local real estate office. I think it's really cool, and I would commend this place to anyone. They also have a lunch menu. We will be returning. read more

The Coffee Station is a small place with awesome breakfast. It closes at 2 on Sundays, so you can't sleep in to long :). Fast service, great food and cheap prices. Big Johns Breakfast is one of my favorites. My wife loves the eggs and hash browns. Sometimes you have to wait 20 or 30 minutes for a seat because there is a line out the door, but its well worth it. Coffee is excellent, as good or better than WAWA in my opinion. They seem to be moving to a larger location where the only PNCBank used to be, about 100 feet from the old location. I was early for work and very hungry, so I stopped in the tiny diner in Morton called "The Coffee Station" for breakfast. There were lots of interesting things to look at while I waited to order. I ordered and was soaking in the atmosphere before I my eyes landed on the waitress' "Coffee Station" T-shirt which said "I stand for the National Anthem". I felt physically ill. My coworker and I decided breakfast was an order a couple of days this week. The first day we had ordered from the coffee Station, we didn't get coffee so we can't really comment on that but their breakfast is amazing. I get my eggs over easy with American cheese on top and let's face it you can tell how good an egg is by the thickness of the yolk. These eggs are high-quality. Absolutely delicious thick flavorful yolks thick whites.. The toast seemed like a Texas toast, thick sliced. Potatoes if I'm being honest could use some olive oil, onion, and parsley rather than pre-boiled and hit on the flat top. They were standard diner fare. My coworker had the same meal on the first day the second day he decided to switch it up and have his eggs scrambled. Needless to say we both give it a two thumbs up. That's four thumbs people! Was just here for the 1st time. Staff were friendly but my son's order was completely wrong. Since he's a toddler, I let them know, but let him eat it (didn't want a hungry cranky toddler waiting for another breakfast). They gave us a casual "sorry" but still charged us for the incorrect breakfast. They did apologize & correct this when it was pointed out. I found the portions small for the price & average food.
