I've visited the coffee station a few times and the service has always been a disappointment but I thought I'd give it another go this morning... We waited about 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table despite it not being terribly busy. The waitress made no mention of specials (although we heard her tell other tables about the specials after we had ordered). The food was mediocre but not bad, typical breakfast food. The "home fries" which are just potatoes with paprika sprinkled on top were better than usual but still lackluster. I was never offered a warm up for my coffee despite it being a bottomless cup. I don't mind paying $1.99 for a bottomless cup of coffee but when no one comes to offer me more.... why even call it bottomless? Overall, the Coffee Station is overpriced and offers subpar service for the area. Save your frustration and go down the road to Nifty Fifties where the service and food are better and you'll save a few bucks too - Coffee Station has a LOT of room for improvement. read more

This place was so-so. The coffee was better than I expected to be. So that's definitely in their favor! The waitress and food runners were both nice and professional. No issues there. I ordered the pancakes, and they were really thick and bland. They needed some help, which included butter, fake syrup (like Aunt Jemima or something) and even salt. Then it was ok. My husband had an omelette that he said was fine. I tasted his hash browns/ home fries, nothing special there. I wouldn't order them as a side. We were seated in the vault, which was kind of cool. They have a lot of money themed decorations. But there was only one other table occupied, and we couldn't help but overhear their conversation as we were seated right next to each other, and they were SO depressing! Pretty reasonable, great coffee, great place to visit on a saturday or sunday. Family owned and operated, and the service is great. We love to split pancakes and omelets and always leave stuffed. You pay at the register so you are not rushed out and it is a pretty big dining space, so if there is a wait, it is never terrible. The coffee at the Coffee Station was weak and refills of coffee and soda weren't free. We ended up paying $15 for beverages alone. My bacon egg and cheese sandwich was skimpy. For the price, you should be getting a great meal and you will not. I'm surprised how crowded it was. Do people have money to burn? The waitress we had has been there since it opened, but she seemed like she had no idea what was going on, like we stumped her when we asked for hot cocoa. We will not be going back. read more

Both of us had one of the special's for lunch & the sandwiches were so good. I highly recommend Coffee Station for Breakfast or Lunch. They are open 6-3. I loved the Hazelnut Coffee too! Food is great 4 stars. Service however is a 2 star (generously ). Wait forever to have an unhappy person (most often) wait on you. Serving you seems to be a chore. Although I live near the Coffee Station I haven't been there in years and not since they banned smoking. The last time we went I could barely see my meal for all the smoke. Please note - they do not allow smoking now. So Saturday at 8am we went to BJ's just down the road and they didn't open until 9 (I never knew that). With time to wait and hungry belly's we decided to give the Station a try. We were seated by friendly staff right away and drinks were ordered. The place has a nice kitschy decor. She ordered a kind of open face Egg McMuffin and I had SOS. Since serving time in the military I have always considered myself some what a SOS expert. CS SOS was very good, not the best I've had but good. The prices were great and the service attentive and friendly. The only test they did not pass was the sweetener test - they only had the pink stuff. Overall a great place if you like Diner food. read more

This place has all the things you do not want as a paying customer. Let's begin with the surly waitress. Ignored when we sit down a young lady asked for our drink order. No big deal,right? Actually that is how I like it- service as soon as you sit down. The young lady comes back right away with two glasses of water as requested. Minutes later our waitress shows up with a pissy comment about us giving the coffee order to the young lady as she brings us two mismatched mugs.The computer wasn't working so taking the order was a " no-no". When the table behind us told her they were going to walk she said she would put the order in the back ( how nice of her!). My order is simple: scrambled hard/dry, Canadian bacon. That is it! Of course wrong side of the bed waitress doesn't write anything down so the eggs show up juicy and soft. Send those back to the kitchen would ya honey? The 2 paper thin slices of Canadian bacon are fatty as any piece of Candian bacon I have ever seen. On top of it they charge $2 per coffee where Niftys and Springfield Diner include that in the price not to mention the service and food is better in both spots. My dining companion said her egg white omlet was good and priced about the same as Nifties/Springfield Diner. But we will NEVER eat in that place again. I thought they deserved one more chance after my previous bad meal. Things have gotten worse which is a shame. On a positive note the decor is nice. read more

Stopped in for breakfast today. When I walked in I noticed the very homey atmosphere. It's a tiny, cozy place with Alll different types of coffee cups lined the top of the ceiling, over 100 different bobble heads were on a shelf above the kitchen, and pictures of Philadelphia and other sports memorabilia were on the wall. A friend and I sat at the bar and I ordered 2 pancakes, 2 eggs over easy, 2 slices of bacon, home fries,and a side of toast. Everything was cooked perfectly. I'm from Chicago and I don't know if it's just Philadelphia or just the particular woman that was serving us or what, but everywhere I go the customer service is very lackadaisical. For somewhere named "the coffee station" my coffee mug should never go dry. When I order a side of toast, and then tell the waitress I still didn't get my toast, I should get it. She never brought my toast. My friend asked for hot sauce for his eggs, they don't have hot sauce... it's the little things that make places great for me. Getting the food I order is a must. I'll give this place another shot, but it needs some improvement. read more

I love breakfast and I was in Morton visiting family at noon and we went to The Coffee Station. Service was great and I got coffee and others got their soft drinks right away. I loved the breakfast sandwich on the pretzel roll. NY and CT don't offer pork roll and Phila. cheese steaks so if you are in the area, you have to make a stop here. The meat in the cheese steak is plentiful and try it with sharp provolone. French fries are served hot and crispy. The wait staff here are special people who make everyone feel welcomed and the decor is interesting...look around at the collections. read more

Have been here with a group a few times, got barely acceptable service; came alone twice and was ignored--both times I couldn't get my bill and wound up going up to the cashier to try to get her to issue me a check, both times service was so bad I left $0 tip, and I'm an unusually generous tipper. Server never came back to refill drinks, on any of the times I've been here, and wasn't even in sight to be flagged down. Last time I was there, they had gluten-free bagels available. I was excited, as I have celiac disease and have to be gluten free; with a GF bagel, I had a chance of lunch, not just eggs. I asked if I could have the chicken salad sandwich on the GF bagel, they said it was no problem. When the bill came, they had charged me full price for the sandwich plus $3-4 for the GF bagel. I questioned the charge and was told it's their policy to charge full price for both, even though I didn't get both. So I paid about $10 for a chicken salad sandwich and a single cup of tea, in a diner-ish setting. Rip off!!! I will never go back, there's too many other places to eat that have better service. I would give them one star because the service is so bad, but the food is decent so I raised it to 2 stars. But barely. read more

I've been to this establishment multiple times since moving to the Ridley area. Overall the food is delicious but the service is atrocious. I went this past Saturday late morning and the place was not busy. We were seated quickly and sat there for a good five minutes before someone came to take a simple drink order from us. I've experienced this lazy waitress in the past. She never introduces herself, doesn't ever crack a smile, and never returns to the table once she takes your order. Perhaps a coffee refill mid-meal would have been appreciated. At the end of our meal we sat for 13 minutes watching our "waitress" (if you can even actually call her one) gossip with another grown woman about who cares what. She finally threw our check on the table and walked away. I was so tempted to not leave a tip for her but my boyfriend convinced me otherwise. Don't let their food fool you. Customer service makes or breaks a business and this establishment needs a serious attitude adjustment. read more

I've always loved this place. The food is consistently delicious. I always get what I'm expecting, fresh homemade food served quickly. And the prices are great. You'll never leave hungry. In addition to the food, this place has THE BEST service. I wish I knew all of their names b/c each server deserves recognition. Most of them have been there for years (10+). They are incredibly efficient, friendly, well spoken, familiar with every inch of the menu and take pride in their jobs. As they should b/c they are the reason (in addition to the food) that eating at the Coffee Station is a wonderfully pleasant relaxing experience. To the owner of the business: Great job . You have selected awesome, talented people to be your employees, produce quality food and be the face of your business. Though there are others whose names I don't know, I'd like to say that Jesse is definitely one of the best employees you have! I highly recommend the Coffee Station for breakfast and lunch.
