    Coffee Pecan Roll
    Cameron

Where this cafe shines is that it's a large space and a favorite spot to do some work with pretty good coffee and a wide variety of snacks. I especially love when they open the space up with their outdoor seating, lots of space available for mostly students to come and do work in a homey environment. The coffee was a bit cold, but I liked their dark roast. I have tried their specialty lattes and have found them to be okay, not really worth getting again. I truly enjoyed their pecan roll, but all their pastries are pretty solid, especially love that they come from a variety of other local businesses. I think it's not my go to for coffee in the area but pretty reliable for a pastry and one of the easiest places to find a seat to study/do work.

I'm going to be honest...the coffee here is not good and I would not come here if I just wanted coffee. The lemonade also tasted a little bit like what I imagine cat pee would taste like. HOWEVER, this is a good study spot. I recently went when it was snowing outside (and a guy playing the clarinet was in front of the shop) and it was a very cozy and warm vibe. The wifi is not good at all so you'll have to use a hot spot, but there are lots of people studying here so it's a good working environment. There are a few outlets, lots of tables, and pastries if you need a little study fuel. Overall, I'd definitely come back to study here sometime.

I ordered a fruit smoothie there but I'm disappointed because it's not made of real fruit juice. The place is spacious and people who work there are very nice.

Love that I actually had no idea where I was because there's literally no branding at all....got the vanilla cold brew. Smooth and tast. Would recommend if in the area instead of Starbucks. It was $5.61. Very spacious cozy place to chill with comfy seating and tables to do work. When you go further back kinda looks like a creepy Panera...but there's a quiet room. I will def come again. Idk where you would park if not local tho.

A very popular cafe and study spot with lots of space and even a quiet study room. Right in the heart of Walnut St. in Shadyside so very visible. While the coffee is average, I so appreciated their Spring seasonal decorations of tissue paper flowers they have hanging from the ceiling. They were all so beautiful and realistic! I was told the owner did them, so credit to her.

NICE COFFEE SHOP IN SHADYSIDE. The coffee tree Roasters is right off the main strip. And offers quite a bit of seating for work, studying, or just people watching while enjoying your latte! I got a matcha latte and was impressed with all the different milk options. I went with Pistachio milk in my matcha latte and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the busy shop. This place does get packed on the weekends so be sure to tip your baristas well and be patient when waiting in line for a drink or table. Enjoy!

Always a cool hangout whether it's for a run group or remote work. Ice coffee is pretty great. Very friendly service almost every time I have been. Outside chairs are great for people watching in the city.

Coffee stains- I'll add my cup holder full of coffee when I get in the car too...

The cups disintegrate shortly after you get them- spilling coffee into your car and on white pants.

Such a cute coffee shop! I decided to come here for a coffee break after shopping around Shadyside. It has a cute vibe with lots of seating. I ordered a small oat milk cappuccino and a flax seed bar. I enjoyed the cappuccino, but I felt like the espresso could have been a richer flavor. I tasted more oat milk than coffee, which I thought was strange for a cappuccino. But it was still enjoyable! The flax seed bar was a nice, homemade pick me up. I loved supporting this local coffee shop today! If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular here. It is a great place to grab a coffee with friends or bring your laptop and get some work done.

They had many amazing pastry options, and their drip coffee was delicious and flavorful. Their bear claws are huge! The only downside is they don't serve them warm unless you ask--and even then, the pastry is never really warm. Still, it's a great space to work from with plenty of seating. I'll definitely be back!

Nestled right before the Sephora sign and the card game shop, this is a very popular spot in late morning weekends. Despite nearly every table being taken up, service was still fast. I didn't see where it came from, but our Thai iced tea came out in practically less than a minute. It was overly sweet for my taste, though. They have some nice perks to sit down like a little story printing machine and several free ice water dispensers.

It has a roastery, bakery, and several cafes in Southwestern Pennsylvania, and it provides training and equipment to other businesses. My husband and I were customers of this cafe in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood one time. The menu listed coffees, espressos, lattes, teas, hot cocoa, cookies, muffins, scones, sandwiches, etcetera. A refrigerator contained yogurts, juices, oat milk, and other bottled beverages. Shelves held bags of coffees and kettles. Employees kindly took my husband's order and payment and promptly made our beverages. Some tables and chairs were inside the cafe, so we sat down to enjoy our beverages. Other customers were using the dining area to read, spend time with family and friends, and work on laptops. I rate the Chai Latte has 5 stars and the holiday Sugar Plum Latte as 4.5 stars. We enjoyed their flavors. Each beverage was 12 ounces, and their total price was $11 plus tax and tip. I did notice that the cafe was very humid because of the cold weather outside and the many customers inside. The windows had much condensation. I wonder if a dehumidifer would reduce the indoor humidity.

One note is, I think they have a wifi limit where only a certain number of people can connect. I tried all night to get a connection and could not for any of my devices, nor could my friend. Overall the ambiance is catered toward chatting rather than studying as the tables are very small and slow or no wifi. I like the night vibes it has though, we need more late night 3rd spaces like this one!! I got a hummus plate and ginger tea. The ginger tea was just okay. The ginger was overpowering in not a good way. It highlighted the spiciness of ginger without letting any type of "tea flavor" through. It tasted more like ginger water. For a tea house, I thought it would have more depth. The hummus platter was very yummy! The pita was warm and the olive oil on the hummus added a nice touch to it. I think I would have enjoyed the experience more had the tables not been as wobbly, the WiFi worked at any point, the tea had a bit more nuance to it, and the cloying smell wasn't there. It is a very good chatting spot for late night meetings ups with great food!

I honestly have not been in the area much lately and was surprised to see its prime location on South Highland in that East Liberty, Shadyside and Friendship corridor. The inside of the shop was packed by the time we got inside so I did not get to see much of it other than the coffee bar and the large selection of baked goods. For my coffee this morning I went with a butter beer cold brew while my wife went with an iced Almond Joy latte. The menu described mine as cold brew with butterscotch syrup and cheesecake sweet cream. My wife's was described as just like the candy bar with dark chocolate and coconut topped with coconut flakes. My coffee actually ended up tasting pretty good. The butterscotch tasted somewhat similar to caramel but the cold brew was definitely the star. It was rich and strong which I always appreciate. The cheesecake sweet cream was also a nice addition as it was sweet like you would expect but also had a bit of tartness that reminded me of actual cheesecake. My wife also enjoyed her coffee and especially liked the combination of chocolate, coconut and coffee flavors. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed our drinks and I would definitely be interested in trying some of the pastries next time.
