The Good: Chicken noodle soup was okay. Dinner roll -- buttered -- was good. Restaurant was clean. Service was not unacceptable (but not particularly friendly). Needs Improvement: $6.52 for 8 oz soup and a small roll? Terrible value. 3 pieces of chicken in this serving. Counter attendant asked if I wanted the roll buttered. I assumed that meant a pat of butter would be provided. Nope, they butter it for you. Cost savings for them, I imagine. Thanks I can butter my own roll and have you handle my food less. Bottom Line: Geraldines has great baked goods but is overpriced on about everything. Visit on special occasions, I guess. read more

Solid 4 star experience yesterday...stopped by on the way out of town and was pretty impressed by the quality of food, service and cleanliness of this bakery and sandwich spot. I had the spicy Italian which included all the great Italian meats with a little bit of kick as well. I had mine on the white French roll. The sandwich was packed full off meat and the fresh produce was a great accent to a well executed sandwich. The service was really good and the very friendly gentleman that took our order was exceptional. My only disappointment and my co-workers was we all got soup and it all tasted like it was either out of a can or frozen. Had higher hopes for a bakery not having homemade soup but the service and sandwich made up for it. read more

I called to order a lemon meringue pie for my mother's 95th birthday. She is in assisted living and has been in "lockdown" since mid-October. She reports that the flavor of the pie was good, but there was no crust. She most definitely wanted to give the baker a tip or two for a good crust! She was also disappointed in the smooth meringue-her old school ways insist on peaks in the meringue-but said it also had a good flavor. Kudos to the ladies who answered the phone when I called to inquire and again when I called to place my order. Friendly, informative, professional. I've been craving one of their cherry pies for what feels like forever and checking on the page to see if it's the daily pie. I finally decided to send a message on Facebook asking when one would be available. Not only did they get back to me quickly After business hours (I wasn't expecting a reply for a toasty second, but was thrilled to receive one so promptly), but they offered to make me one the next day. ON TOP OF THAT, when I sent another message asking if I could give a card number over the phone to limit trans-personal item contact during this Covid thing, I got a reply within minutes of sending the message, instructing me to call when I got there. I've been searching for the best cinnamon roll for quite a while now. I live in Twin Falls, ID but on a visit to my in-laws they recommended Geraldine's cinnamon rolls. They. Did. Not. Disappoint. UHMAZING. The dough is delicious. The ratio of cinnamon filling to roll to icing is perfecto. The texture is divine. This is my new go to place for cinnamon rolls. Totally worth the 1.5 hour drive. Probably a good thing it's far away. I could add some serious poundage if I lived closer. read more

I am writing this review because what we were served today actually made me mad!This place used to have delicious sandwiches and baked goods. Imagine my disappointment when my hoagie came on just an oversized hotdog' type bun. Gone is the meaty homemade tasting buns! To top it off the german chocolate cake was a dead ringer for a store bought Betty Crocker mix with canned frosting! Baked good that are absolutely to die for. That's about all that you should need to know about Geraldine's. They are most famous for their dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, and orange rolls, but the cookies, cupcakes and other desserts are just as fine. They also serve a decent lunch, with soups, sandwiches, and salads served until late afternoon. They have a small, clean dining area where you can eat in, but there is no table service. I'd recommend the turkey-ham salad sandwich and the dessert of your choice; I've never picked a bad item out of their dessert case. read more

Went there today and the lady working in front, I assume was the manager cuz she was older and the rest were kids didn't even bother to look up from her papers when I walked in and I continued to stand there for an awkward amount of time till she looked up and gave me the coldest greeting I've ever received. She really seemed like she could have cared less about the customer she just had walk in. I ordered a sandwich and soup, the soup had the consistency of water when it was suppose to be a thick broth. It was disgusting, the sandwich was alright but for ten bucks you'd expect more than two thin slices of turkey. I have mixed feelings about this place. Their sugar cookies are the best I've ever had, but their sandwiches are just ok and they are amazingly slow. Make you want to pull your hair out slow. And today was really the last straw. I keep trying to like Geraldine's. I want it to be the go-to local yummy bakery on the corner. It gets good reviews from locals. But in the handful of times I've eaten here I just get mediocre food that leaves me unimpressed. The soup tastes like its from a can or frozen. The baked goods are usually dry, including the cinnamon rolls they are "famous" for. They need to introduce more fresh ingredients and add more flavor combinations to give their food some depth if they want to compete with the recently opened Panera. It reminds me of cafeteria food complete with heavy set women in dirty aprons serving food on paper plates. read more

I love fresh baked bread and I'm picky about bread that I buy. This bakery consistently has the best tasting bread and rolls. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but I love to splurge on their pumpkin rolls or peanut butter bars. Mostly I just hope I'm in line when they put out their samples! There is no doubt that Geraldine's has several delicious choices on their menu, but as most people in Pocatello will tell you, they have gone seriously downhill. The current owner purchased the bakery and their recipes from the original owner and ever since they have gotten progressively worse. I will say the rolls and homemade bread as well as the cinnamon rolls and peanut butter squares are as delicious as they have always been, but stay away from everything else!!! The soups and cookies aren't homemade (despite popular belief), and they have had multiple problems with the health department about the temperature of their refrigerated items for sandwiches being too warm! You can definitely tell the only reason they are still in business is because of their rolls. Lots of better choices for a bakery in Pocatello, and they probably won't try to serve you a sandwich that might make you sick and an overpriced cookie they took out of a box in the back. read more

Geraldines Shop makes delicious baked goods & wonderful made to order dishes. However, my appetite was recently destroyed when I placed my order in person, a dozen cookies. The cashier was pleasant as she removed the cookies two or three @ time from beneath the display glass and placed them neatly in a box. She then proceeded to take my money.
