Was in the area meeting up some group of friends and was having dinner at Tarla Mediterranean Restaurant next door and we all decided to check out Mercantile Social and Terrace. The hotel itself is pretty and chill and the staff are all soo welcoming and accommodating. I dropped off my vehicle at the valet and they are prompt and well mannered. The bar tenders at Mercantile were friendly and took good care of us throughout the evening. They had outdoor patios that are clean and equipped with outdoor heaters and fireplaces so it was very warm and chill. The drinks were made good and we all enjoyed the ambiance of the place as it is private and relaxing. highly recommend this spot and will definitely return.

There's limited parking in the area, but it can be tight. We had a reservation for a late afternoon and the restaurant was getting pretty busy. I would definitely recommend reservations during peak times dinner hours. We were pleasantly greeted and had an opportunity to walk through a very cool bar area. The restaurants surrounds a courtyard, which would be lovely in warmer weather. Just beyond the courtyard you can see from just about every area of the restaurant right into the kitchen, which is always fun. Without any surprise, there's an extensive wine list available as well as a fantastic list of mixed drinks and mocktails. Every dish was amazingly flavorful with attention to every detail. As visually beautiful as all the dishes tasted. Everything was made with quality ingredients and flawlessly executed. The pastor tacos (also happy hour) were by far the best pastor tacos I've ever had. Super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the lettuce wraps. They were good, but probably not something I'd order again. The fried chicken sandwich was solid, juicy, flavorful chicken, and I loved that it came with fries since that's becoming rare in Napa. The burger was also good, again with fries (much appreciated). THE STAR: the octopus. WOW. So tender with the perfect balance of flavor. It was the only dish I managed to take a photo of because the presentation was beautiful and honestly better than any octopus dish I've had in the valley. 10/10!! Nice touches adorn the restaurant throughout. The menu has a lot of wonderful options. The service, provided by Alex, was excellent. We started with the Dungeness Crab arancini, which are probably the best thing we ate all evening, and that's saying a lot because everything we had was great. These arancini are perfectly fried crab meat rolled into a ball served over a delicious tartar sauce. I wish I had 3 orders of this, at least. We ordered the soup of the day and their bread service. The soup was a white bean and sausage and it was perfectly salty and fatty. The bread and butter was a perfect accompaniment. The Carpe Diem salad was also really special. It had these Cabernet soaked dried cranberries that were so good and tart. For an entree, we ordered the short ribs which come over a risotto. It felt a little heavy, and maybe the sauce could've used a little acid to cut the heaviness. It was still really delicious though. For dessert, we had the espresso crème brûlée.
