I ordered the conch fritters- one on my favorite vacation snacks- and I honestly could not tell that they even had any conch in them at all! The 2 workers were busy, but not very friendly at all. Came here at the recommendation of a blogger who said they had the best conch fritters. I ordered the conch trio. The conch filets were a little tough but very flavorful and I ate them all. The conch ceviche was also brimming with flavor. The conch fritters however were disappointing. The amount of conch in each was minimal. It was mostly breading. It was served with fries which was unnecessary and they weren't great. Had I just ordered the fritters I would have been disappointed. The filets and ceviche brought this place back up in my book. read more

Holy moly I'd give this place 10 stars if I could! This place has it all! Yummy food, cold beer, good prices and the most awesome staff! I had the best cheeseburger here. The patty was so flavorful and the outside had that little crunch from the grill. The way the cheese melted into the juicy meat. The bun was soft and the toppings were just right. Put this with an ice cold beer and you have achieved perfection! Sit at the window and you're in for some friendly conversation with the staff. Word around town is a lot of the locals favor the burgers at The Conch Shack. :) read more

We tried the Maine Lobsters Rolls and the Conch Fritters. Not so hot on the fritters. There were shell pieces in them. However, the Maine Lobster Rolls made up for them in a big way! They were ALL Lobster; little to no other ingredients. Loved them! The drinks were good as well; plenty of liquor! There was a lady that walked up as we were finishing coming back for a second round of fritters so my guess is we just got a bad batch... Would definitely recommend! read more

I am giving 1 star as customer service there is terrible!!!! Young guy at the counter feel he needs to be an Asshole by pointing at the menu and talking to you like you're slow. We asked a simple question and he reacted as if he was bothered!!! Very bad personality!! Well to the asshole kid at the counter learn respect for patrons of your business, As this is how you make your money to get a paycheck!! Amazing conch fritters. Lobster roll has tons of chunky lobster...they don't skimp on the lobster.

The conch ceviche was the worst I have had. Spongy and no flavor. Red fish blue fish around the corner is 100% superior.

We went here on our first night in key west based in the very good reviews here. The conch shack is a little shack in Duval with some outside seating. More suited for a quick snack than an enjoyable dinner. We ordered seafood sampler platter for 16$ consisting of fries, three conch fritters, shrimp and Mahi Mahi. The seafood was deep fried and heavily battered. The fries were tasty but not crispy enough. The Mahi Mahi and shrimp were fresh and would have been very tasty if not for the less than average batter covering it up. What a shame to ruin a great product like that. The fritters visibly contained conch but the taste was starchy and unpleasantly chewy. If you love deep fried food and want seafood without the taste of seafood served fast, this is the place to go. Otherwise spend your money elsewhere. read more

We went on a recommendation from a local bar tender at Sloppy Joes...it didn't disappoint. We were looking for fried seafood which is hard to find. You have a choice of 4 sidewalk bar stools to sit on or stand to eat....its a food wagon....WITH THE BEST MAINE LOBSTER ROLL ON THE PLANET. The fried seafood was quite yummy also. Absolutely the best food in the keys. I live close to Key Largo and we make the 87 mile drive to Key West once a month just to eat at the Conch Shack. The food is made fresh right in front of you...No sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. The best Conch fritters anywhere, and I've tried dozens of restaurants for fritters.
