Had my concrete patio and stoop replaced in my backyard. Junior(the owner) is a sweet talking salesman. He says he knows everything about concrete. Then why does my pad look the way it does? They did not bring any tools which I then had to borrow them. Never saw a level. I had to go outside and be the foreman on the job. The form they framed for the basketball hoop was so out of whack I had to coach them through how to square it up. The level of the pad itself was supposed to be totally unnoticeable. It is about a six plus inch difference from one side to the other. I already have settling cracks after thirty days due to the weak gravel base they put in. They also tarped the concrete with no breathing room and now the tarp outlines are totally still noticeable after four months. I have talked to other concrete guys and they say tarping residential concrete is a no no. So I payed 9000 dollars for probably the worst concrete job I have seen. Do not use these guys. They said they were going to come out and look and have stopped returning my emails and phone calls. Make sure you read the contract!!! They charge you 3.50 a square foot for repairs even if it is warrantied. read more

Their concrete work is good, but if you hire him to build you a dry well be prepared to measure it yourself to make sure you get what you pay for. I was pre approved for the "Stormwater Management Incentive Program" so my dry well should have only cost me $95.00 for the inspection, and I would be reimbursed $5000.00 for a 480 cu. ft. dry well. Which The Concrete Doctor was under contract to provide. The dry well was constructed and the inspection done. Neither Mr. Colao nor the Elmhurst city inspector told me the actual size when the dry well was completed, so I assumed it was the size I had the permit and contract for. When I received my reimbursement, two months later, I found out that the inspector's report on file at Elmhurst City Hall said the dry well was only 336 cu. ft. So my reimbursement was only $3528.00. A $1472.00 shortfall. Mr. Colao refused to refund the 1472.00. read more

We were having our garage remodeled and needed a new concrete floor. When the contractor's workers started breaking out the old floor, they found the structure of the garage was built on dirt, not a foundation! The contractor said he couldn't do it, but recommended the Concrete Doctor. Jr. came out and determined how it could be done and did a great job. So thankful for their work or we would not have been able to remodel and would have had to knock down the garage and build new a huge cost. So thankful they saved it! He was one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. Communication was great, job done when they said it would be at the price quoted. We also needed a dry well installed and it happens that they do that as well. JR quoted the price, had it installed and I was surprised how level the yard was afterward. He also indicated we would be eligible for reimbursement by the city and helped me with the paperwork. Very happy with the work so far. I would never recommend this contractor to anyone, I swear they are the worst. Both dumb and arrogant! They did an appalling job on my patio, it looks horrendous. I am extremely disappointed with there service and customer care. Its so sad that I trusted them, I dread the fact that I hired such a lousy business. My patio is cracking every where and the corners are peeling. No response back when I call or email them. In fact, they did not stand by there word which makes me even more angry. I requested service on 2/9 in the evening or 2/10 early morning. I was told i would receive a text prior to leaving and would wait on a confirmation prior to doing anything. This was to help my parents such that they didn't have to shovel the driveway for the day, especially since my dad fell last week and had sprained his back. Here's what happened - The person came in the morning at 7:11am on 2/9 and after cleaning the driveway, knocked on my dad's door to collect cash. The snow was clearly going to continue for another few hours and now my dad had to eventually clean the driveway again after they left within a few hours. Clear instructions weren't followed and i felt like we were forced to pay which clearly felt like a waste. Not using their service again for any personal use. read more

Junior and his crew did a great job on my driveway, walk-way, single step stoop, and the added trench drain. The estimate was right in the middle of other estimates we received. We chose The Concrete Doctors because Junior was very detailed on how he wanted to run water away from the house. The other companies that came out took measurements but didn't go into many details. It was a pretty large job that spanned about a week. There were some hiccups along the way like the need to add a trench drain in front of the garage. The grade wasn't ideal for hard rain so Junior and his guys recommended a drain to move the water. Throughout the project, Junior and his team kept me informed on what was going on and what the next steps were. He was always available to answer any questions I had as well. It was evident he had been doing this for a while and takes pride in his crew and his work. About a week after the job, he had a guy come back to patch any rough spots left behind from leaves or rocks surfacing.
