Risotto scallop truffle carpaccio: I never had truffles in large pieces like this before. I was exactly what I hoped for. The earthy woody flavor of the truffle, I like it. Australian ribeye Wagyu: delicious that's all I have to say! American Wagyu filet mignon: he said the flavor was so deep and perfect. Potato gratin with ham: so good! The slight salty taste of ham cuts the rich creamy and cheesy flavor. You don't taste the ham at first but if you pay attention you taste the slight hint. I loved it. Fresh cinnamon sugar donuts with bourbon caramel dipping sauce: it was fluffy and cake flavor and you can dip in the sauce to make it sweeter or eat it without. For us, the environment was the highlight more than the meal itself. That said, the location is great, right in the middle of a lively area with plenty of shops and things to explore before or after dinner. It's on the spendy side (you pay for the location!). Hands down one of the top 5 dining experiences I've ever had. Everything about The Continental was incredible!!! the vibe, the service, and especially the food!!! It was a chilly night and they had heaters set up around us, which sounds small but honestly made the whole experience that much better. We were a group of 10 (not easy anywhere), and the service was flawless from start to finish. We ordered a mix of steaks, scallops, branzino, cauliflower, corn, and salads, and every single dish was excellent. Funny enough, my least favorite was the corn and even that was still really good. The only reservation we could get was at 5:00 pm, so we were lucky enough to find out about their early dining menu! Our meal started with a visit from the Dirty Martini Cart, a great little treat offering freezing cold martinis and olives served from a table side cart. We then ordered from the early dining prix fixe menu. Great value, $55 for a starter, main and dessert. I had a tomato carpaccio salad, a perfectly cooked 12 oz hanger steak with asparagus and au gratin potatoes and fresh donuts with maple bourbon caramel sauce. Come to the Continental if you want a no-frills **fantastic** steak dinner! In typical steak-restaurant-fashion, the sides are all a la carte and larger in size, meant for sharing. My parents and I each enjoyed a different filet (we wanted to compare the options), and split potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The mashed potatoes were too good to be true (except... they were true!!!). I practically licked the bowl clean! Unlike trendier restaurants, it's not stuffy, and it's just an enjoyable atmosphere (with a gigantic front patio, specifically), and you get a great quality meal. They had a particularly great wine list and a nice seasonal cocktail special. It was a peach negroni - yum! Here's where they fell short: for such a fine-dining type experience, our server couldn't have had less of a personality, plus we could barely hear him because he talked SO quietly. We specifically asked and booked an indoor table as well. We waited until 8:10 to even get seated. As we were waiting, a group of 3 was seated at a 6 person table. We got seated outdoors. Once we got seated, we complained to the woman who walked us down. We asked to speak to the manager, the manager was unhelpful and not very apologetic. He didn't care much about what we had to say, or what went on. I do not recommend anyone to come here. My mother and I went to lunch at The Continental today. We have both been before and were really looking forward to it. I ordered the lobster burrata salad. It was a nice portion size and $28. Which didn't bother me at all. It was delicious. When my bill arrives it was for $48. I asked the waiter? 2 iced teas ($12) and bread ($8). I am gluten free. They were very good rolls. I was not informed that I would be charged for them? A basket full arrived. I only ate one. If you are going to charge me for the bread you should inform the guest, and then offer a to go container for the remaining rolls. Especially after I commented to the waiter that they were excellent and asked if he could find out where they get them. He never got back to me. We got the carrots & I cannot recommend them enough. Truly some of the best I've ever had. They had this herb sauce that was so good- I asked for the recipe. 1st visit here with my boyfriend. We have been to their sister restaurant for New Years, Ziggy's, which was great so when I saw the summer HH Special I knew it was time to make the trip down here. I'm so glad the weather was great we sat outside at the outside bar. We were the only ones at the bar which was great and we had the burger special but first we had an old fashioned and gin blossom. So great and refreshing! I was surprised this place wasn't that busy but I loved that we had the place practically to ourselves! Had dinner on the front patio here on a Thursday night, it was very empty when we arrived. Our server was fantastic. Really attentive and knew the menu inside out. They had a number of fresh fish selections available that day at $46 per dish. Scallops were cooked to perfection and served with a lemon and pickled veggies. It looked like a small dish coming out, but the scallops were LARGE and extremely filling. Would definitely recommend (when available). Cauliflower risotto was delicious. I don't love cauliflower rice alone, but turned into risotto it was *chefs kiss*! It was so hot, buttery, and perfectly seasoned. It's pricey at $18, but easily functions as a side dish for 2 people! The reason I knocked off stars is the number of extremely bothersome fans they had blowing at guests on the patio. There were three powerful fans pointed as us the entire time, and we finally got one of the employees to turn two off. We also watched the hostess (unsuccessfully) try to seat three different parties RIGHT next to a literal industrial sized fan (think 5 feet tall blowing at full speed) with no offer to turn it off. My table was an after thought when I put in months prior I wanted to sit outside by the flowers. This was my birthday dinner which they did nothing for no candle or anything. We used to love coming to the Continental for what the known for - Steaks However it was the second time when they overcooked my husband's steak ( he asked for medium rare and the steak came out well done ) , so we didn't get to eat our meals together. His steak came out cooked the right way 5 minutes later ( very fast / impressive) Our waiter was very apologetic and mentioned that the restaurant will take care of my husband's steak ( we never expected it or asked for it) ... however as our meal came to an end - they did charge us for this steak and offered a desert We never had a problem paying for our food, but if you say you're sorry for overcooked steak and offer to remove the steak from the bill - don't back off and offer us a desert That's definitely not what 300$+ bill restaurants do Needless to say - we'll pick someplace else to spend $$$ read more

We had a lovely evening at D'Amico's The Continental. The food was absolutely delicious, the presentation was impressive, and the ambiance truly elevated the experience. This is exactly the level of quality we expected from such a reputable place. However, one moment ruined the overall impression: after leaving a $40 tip on a $380 bill, our server returned to question the amount, claiming that "Florida law requires a minimum 20% tip." Not only is this legally incorrect -- tips are voluntary in Florida -- but it was also an extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional interaction. Let's be realistic: in Florida, a physician earns about $168/hour, a licensed attorney around $79/hour, and an experienced engineer roughly $56/hour -- all after years of study and hard work. Expecting $70+ per table, regardless of the service level, is beyond unreasonable. Tipping is a gesture of appreciation, not a mandatory fee, and should never be demanded or guilt-tripped out of customers. We truly hope this was an isolated incident and not a reflection of the restaurant's overall standards. Because otherwise, everything -- from the food to the ambiance -- was truly worth praising. It's unfortunate -- not because we couldn't afford more, but because we didn't expect to be treated like under-tippers after already giving a sum higher than most people make hourly in Florida. If gratuity is mandatory at your establishment, perhaps consider including it in the bill -- or better yet, training staff not to harass guests under the guise of "education." It's hard to enjoy dessert with a side of condescension. A lovely place -- on the surface. But behind the polished service, there's a tone that reminds you: tips aren't appreciated, they're expected -- and if you don't meet the quota, you'll be told so. read more
