Some were soft, fluffy, and exactly what you'd expect from a good donut. Others were dry, brittle, and tasted like they'd been sitting there for way too long. I even bought the exact same type of donut and compared them side by side. The difference was obvious. One was fresh and one definitely wasn't. I mean, it's a donut. It's pretty hard to ruin one, but somehow this place managed to pull it off. Their donuts are barely palatable. Even worse, they all look different but somehow taste exactly the same. There's almost no flavor in the donut itself, just a heavy coat of sugary glaze trying to do all the work. I felt like I needed a chaser of Listerine after eating these horrible donuts. Overall, this joint sucks. It probably survives because it's the closest donut shop in the neighborhood, not because it's the best. Or maybe some of the regulars have never had a truly fresh donut and wouldn't know a good one if it slapped them in the face. Either way, this place has zero consistency. They don't seem to throw out the day-old donuts. They just keep selling them. Save your money and drive a little farther for a donut that's actually fresh.
