I saw this place while driving down the road and decided i try it out. I was welcomed in as came through the door. At the counter the staff explained to me the menu and also highlighted some favorites. I did not believe the Texas hot would be as hot as it was. The meat fell right off the ribs, which i love. Fall off the bone ribs. Super yummy! Friendly staff, great ice cream sandwiches and they have a FULL BAR. We have visited two different locations and they were exactly the same. I love that consistency is there for this small business. The restaurant itself is very clean and organized. Great for a casual lunch with friends or to have a casual date. Went to check it out. First I was greeted and helped with deciding what to get. I went with the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. It was nice and clean and this please has great hospitality. The staff is so nice and ready to serve they are all about great customer service. My kids loved it and it's family friendly for all ages. They also have a bar if you want a beer or a quick margarita. I love the lemonade. Amber was a great hostess and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was so sweet and willing to keep the customer happy. This place is awesome and I'm glad we have one near me. The Mac and cheese is so good. The door is fresh and next time I'm going to try and get there before 7pm to try the ribs be they sell out. Also a great place to meet friends. Tried a new chicken place that just opened called The Cookshack. The restaurant itself is cute from the outside in. Insulation is lacking so it was pretty loud inside; we chose to sit on the patio. It was peaceful with pretty plants across the front with a nice breeze. I ordered the chicken & waffles with no heat and a side of macaroni and cheese. My two sauce choices were honey mustard and gravy. Chicken was plump hot & juicy with a crispy coating. It was hard to choose which sauce i liked better because they were both really good. I thought the mac & cheese was just OK. The waffles came with a cinnamon butter and powdered sugar. They were good but I think I will ask for it to be crispier next time. My son also got the chicken and waffles but he chose medium heat with fries & the shack sauce. The sauce was a play on Cane's sauce. He loved everything. My husband ordered the chicken tacos, medium heat and french fries. He said the heat level is just right & he definitely will be back again. The have beer, wine and margaritas but we will have to try that next time. They have several heat levels for the chicken starting with no heat all the way up to AMF. I will let you ask the staff what that stands for. read more

Randomly found this place online. Such a gem! Chicken tenders are awesome! I don't like spicy food so I got the lowest heat level. Delish! Had the waffles too. Was really a good choice. My brother had ribs and tenders. He got his chicken hot and was sweating by the end - he loved it! For his side dish, he got the Kale salad and said it was good. I got a side too w the chicken and waffles. I picked sweet potato fries because a review I read said they were good. Another good choice! The service was good, too. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It was pretty busy (lunchtime on a Friday) but the food came out quickly and everything was hot. They visited our table a couple of times to ask if we needed anything. There are TVs on the walls and they had sports on. I noticed they had beer too. Would be a good Saturday afternoon choice during football season. Overall, I'm glad we tried it out. Will definitely be back. read more

9/23/22-My husband got the tacos and then we shared the rib and chicken tender combo. Two small little chicken tenders sitting on top of a piece of white bread. Barely had any crust on the tender. I was looking for a good crunchy juicy chicken tender. Also, it was a little tough. Very disappointed. The ribs were tender, but over cooked. Why do people think that it's a good thing when ribs fall off the bone. Look at any good barbecue restaurant and you will see that the meat is supposed to stay on the bone so you can pick it up and eat it. You're not supposed to be able to pull the bone out of the meat and then have to eat it with a fork. It tasted like ribs that were done in a pressure cooker and then sauced and put under a broiler to caramelize. Not good. Another first and last trip. read more

I have eaten here, in person, twice and ordered Door Dash 3-4 times. In person, the ribs and tenders are AMAZINGLY good! The ribs are fall off the bone tender and the tenders are moist and hot! All but one time for delivery, it has been great! I HIGHLY recommend it. read more

Went inside for the first time recently and we were all very pleased with the menu variety and tried different things. A+ on the chicken sandwich and the chicken and waffles. We visited The Cookshack the first weekend they were open. Especially for a new business, they were on the ball! The restaurant was spotless and well-staffed. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and management was very present. The restaurant was pretty packed, but they were handling the crowd well. The food was amazing! They offer ribs and chicken tenders. We did not try the ribs, but the tenders were great. They are offered at four heat levels. My son had no spice, and my husband and I had medium. The flavor was excellent, not too spicy at all. My son enjoyed the honey mustard sauce, husband had their sweet and spicy sauce, and I had ranch and blue cheese. The ranch and blue cheese were the least favorites, but still good. For sides, we tried the macaroni and cheese, fries, and dragon fries. All were delicious, especially the creamy macaroni and cheese. The sweet tea was perfect. My son didn't care for the lemonade. Overall, this was a very positive experience, and we look forward to our next visit. read more

Finally a good hot chicken joint in Spring! Came during lunch hour, and was surprised at how little the wait was for our food. I got the chicken sandwich at the heat level just under "AMF" (hottest one) and it was on point with a good amount of heat that my nose started to run haha. Good sized sandwich, not greasy, and juicy chicken with good toppings . Delicious! You get one side with it and they have a good variety. My friends sweet potato fries were so good and a had a little sweetness to them. They have chicken tenders and ribs here too which I didn't try but I will next time. I'm gonna start with a 3 star review but I plan on going back and giving them another try. It's a new restaurant in our area so I loved the atmosphere and cleanliness. Everyone was super helpful as we arrived at 11:30 for lunch. I ordered their 2 finger special with a side of sweet potato fries. And I ate most of the fries right away they were so good. But I didn't want the chicken to get cold so I dove in, mild heat dipped into bbq sauce. It seemed greasier than I had wanted. And the flavor was all right. But I was a bit disappointed with the chicken after eating those delicious fries. But like I said, I'll be back to try them again. And get a pic next time. read more

Chicken is tough and has no flavor. The servers behind the counter taking orders were too busy chatting it up to acknowledge people until there were several people standing in line, and then they looked shocked despite looking at everyone as they walked in. The family tray comes with A LOT of food, but the taste just wasn't there. The Mac and cheese and regular fries were the best part of the meal taste wise. This place could totally have a lot of potential, but they need to do something to add some flavor to the chicken and make it more tender. read more

Never tried The Cookshack before, so this was my first time at this store. A great experience overall. I'm fine with counter service. The big difference is they bring the food to your table, and then buss (not "bust", as one illiterate reviewer wrote), the table afterwards. Ordered the rib sandwich special, and it was perfect in appearance, preparation and taste. Piping hot, too! Got the medium heat level, just as a starting point. I'm a heat lover, and the medium hit the nail on the head. Ordered a side of Dinosaur Fries, because I was told they were spicey. Apparently, I was served "regular" fries instead - no spice whatsoever. Okay, mistakes happen. The table server brings my food, and there's no cup for the drink I ordered. Okay, I get up, walk back to the counter for my cup, and poured my own. I then sit down to eat, and the sandwich is sumptuous - I would guess there was a half pound of meat on it. I immediately realized I needed a fork, which was not provided. I looked around, and everyone in there had not only a knife, like mine, but also a regular table-service stainless fork. I got up, again, and walked to the counter, asking for a fork. Instead of a regular table fork, I was handed a Mickey D's style packet of black plastic cutlery. WTF? This is an $18 lunch, for God's sake, but I don't get a table-style fork?!? This place has promise, and in all fairness, the young guy who took my counter order was new and didn't even know that the rib sandwich special was available. I pointed out the sign behind him, he checked with the young lady training him, and I got the meal I wanted. I think Cookshack has great potential, but they have a lot of wrinkles to iron out, at least at this particular store. read more

First visit was great but there were a lot of management there since it was opening week. Today visit was very disappointing. Confusion at the door and slow to take order. There was another cashier at the bar that could of taken the overflow but staff was too busy chatting. No ice at the beverage center and out of Diet Coke. A staff member stated it was being sorted but just put a "out of Oder" sign on the selection. Salad was great on the first visit and was looking forward to having it again..... avocado was slimy and hard and the salad was half the portion was previous visit. Also it was very warm in the dining area. No shades on the windows and no ceiling fans. It was very cool on previous visit and hotter outside. Will be a while before going back ... too expensive for that many issues. read more
