The Copper Fox -- a new favorite I stumbled into The Copper Fox and left already planning my next visit. The food was outstanding, the service on point, and the vibe hit that perfect sweet spot of cool and relaxed. Atmosphere From the moment you walk in, the aesthetic tells a story--clean lines, copper-topped tables, bold fox art, and a cozy hearth that makes the room feel warm without trying too hard. Music and lighting stay in the background so the conversation (and the food) can shine. It's stylish, unfussy, and comfortable. What we ate (and loved) Mr. Fox Pizza Ultra-thin, blistered crust with a great crackle. The pepperoni had just the right sizzle, the ricotta dollops added creamy pockets, and the basil brightened every bite. Balanced, craveable, and dangerously easy to finish. Buttermilk Fried Chicken Golden, shattering crunch outside, tender and juicy inside. Served over a tangy slaw that cuts the richness and a creamy dipping sauce that I'd happily buy by the jar. Simple, confident, perfectly seasoned. Wild Mushroom Pizza Earthy mushrooms layered over that same crisp crust, finished with a shower of shaved cheese and a fresh tumble of arugula. It's the "one more slice" kind of pizza--bright, savory, and satisfying without feeling heavy. Scallops & Corn Risotto A comfort-bowl masterpiece. Sweet corn and silk-smooth risotto with beautifully cooked scallops, topped with fresh herbs for lift. Every spoonful hits creamy, sweet, and briny notes in balance. Lemon Curd Bramble (dessert) A tall glass of joy--silky lemon curd, whipped cream, and buttery crumble. Tart, bright, and refreshing; the ideal finish after a rich meal. Service & details Service was the definition of hospitality: warm welcome, smart pacing between courses, waters topped off without asking, and helpful guidance on the menu. You can feel a team that cares about the guest experience. The verdict The Copper Fox delivers across the board--thoughtful cooking, polished service, and a chill, modern atmosphere that makes you want to linger. If you're deciding what to order, start with the Mr. Fox Pizza and Fried Chicken, add the Wild Mushroom Pizza to share, treat yourself to the Scallops & Corn Risotto, and don't skip the Lemon Curd Bramble. 5/5 -- Epic meal. We'll be back soon.

WAITER SPILT ON US AND DID NOT APOLOGIZE** After a day of skiing, we came to this restaurant to enjoy some good food and time with friends. But we were very disappointed with the service of this place. We were seated quickly, but after that everything went downhill. The service is extremely slow and the staff was not very tentative. We had to flag down our waiter to put in our order for drinks our order for food and for dessert. We were a smaller table of five people, so this was surprising to us. One of the waiter spilt a whole glass of Coca-Cola on one of us, and did not apologize or say anything about what happened. We had to ask for extra napkins to clean up the mess ourselves. We saw this was extremely weird and rude, but we continued on with our meal in hopes for an apology at the least, and maybe a compensated drink. When we asked for the check, they did not mention the spill and nothing was compensated on our bill. We were actually charged an extra Coca-Cola. Even though the food was really good, I would not come back here just because of the service it took us three hours to eat just because of how slow it was and obviously the servers were not apologetic.

This place came recommended by the Airbnb where we were staying -- We were told it was their favorite place. We asked the server for recommendations and she said the dirty potatoes were a staple! And they were really decadently tasty. For mains, we split a kale Caesar with grilled chicken (chicken was very fresh) and a gluten-free truffle mushroom pizza. We also had to mocktails and while I cannot recall the names, they were tasty and fun. Very good rec that lived up to the expectation.

This place is magical. We were in Vermont for a girls spa weekend and found this place about 20 mins away from our hotel. It is highly recommended to put in a reservation due to the size of the dining room and how amazing their food is. We got there about 20 mins before our reservation but they were able to sit us. I instantly loved that the kitchen was open. You always know a clean restaurant has an open kitchen. Our waitress came over promptly to pour us water and ask us if we needed help picking from the drink menu. The menu had a great selection of unique cocktails but she gave us a few suggestions and each of us ordered a different cocktails. I cant remember the names of the drinks but they were delicious and strong with some unique tastes in there. We ordered the Dirty Potatos because of previous reviews and them raving about them. The raving is 100% accurate these Potatos will keep you coming back for more. I almost wish they had it as a side for one person. We wiped that plate clean. We ordered our entrees and they came out fairly quickly with great presentation. I ordered the Clam Chowder, my friends ordered the chicken alfredo, brisket gnocchi and the cast iron fried rice. We each shared a bite or two to try everything and lets just say we left with no left overs! The food was full of flavor and was amazing! If you are questioning going here dont because it was an amazing experience that ended with an espresso martini. We all know dessert sometimes comes in the form of a dessert martini.

Such a cute and amazing place! Excellent top notch service and attention to detail. We had the white clam pizza and the skillet fried rice. The cocktails were amazing and the food was delicious! Such a hidden gem in this tiny Vermont town!

Updating my review since my previous review was a year old but its still such an amazing restaurant with great people, delicious food, and an atmosphere you'll never forget. 110% check out this spot if you are in the area. You won't ever want to leave!

So wish I lived closer to this restaurant because I'd come again in a heartbeat. Came with a party of 14 and we were blown away with every dish and drink. My friend and I ordered the Maple Glazed NY Strip Steak (they didn't have the Flank Steak that night so they subbed it with a NY Strip) and the Jamaican Jerked Pork Shoulder to share. I'm still thinking about those 2 dishes even now that it's been a couple days since having it. For the Pork Shoulder, the meat was insanely tender and I absolutely loved the creamy polenta bed and the contrasting slightly sour cabbage. For the steak, the wine glaze + chimichurri were the perfect pairings for the meat. The glaze was slightly sweet and complemented the savoriness of the chimichurri. Really enjoyed the scallion potato cake and brussel sprouts that soaked up the glaze too. I ordered the Snow Day drink and that was well done too, not too sweet. Overall amazing amazing meal and stellar service as well!

A local favorite where strangers are welcome. Come all ye skiers and such and enjoy a very delicious selection of craft cocktails, delightful beers, tasty soups and food, and some of the friendliest people over the Vermont Line. A little of something for everyone, including menus you can draw on with the kids. I was on my way home from a day skiing, and I have zero regrets. This town is a mix of pizza places that don't have staff, some other establishments that serve chain food, and then you get a really awesome gem like this place. I don't know about you guys, but after a day of skiing, and not wanting to spend $1 million on cafeteria food, I am willing to wait and spend a little more on a quality dinner and cocktail that really says "you did it girl!". The drink pictured here is a yummy bourbon cocktail, highly recommended. ;)

So we sat next to the owners at one of our favorite restaurants in Ludlow and they told us about The Copper Fox. This restaurant is amazing!!!!!!! The space is so inviting, modern rustic and beautifully decorated. All of the servers were friendly and engaging. The cocktails are so interesting packed with flavor. The hardest part was deciding which one I wanted. Started with the soup of the day which was so yummy and satisfying. The ginger was incorporated into the butternut squash for an even balance of flavor. On point. The charred Ceasar salad was delicious but the buttered breadcrumbs instead of standard croutons made this salad amazing. My husband had a chicken sandwich that he said was delicious. My entree was a surprise for me since I am vegetarian and the chef will custom make you a dinner. What!!!! Who does that? Chef you made this girl so happy with your pumpkin risotto. It was so delicious and satisfying. We ate every bite and didn't have room for dessert but will be back to try the awesome desserts on our next trip.

The staff is phenomenally friendly! Great service, great conversations with the local staff! They had an issue with our reservation, but really made up for it! The set up is gorgeous. It's so cute and inviting with local Vermont art! The food is amazing. I will admit my party of 6 was very hungry LOL but we really enjoyed everything we ate!! But a pretty long wait... so beware!

Tomato/parsnip soup, beet salad and buffalo cauliflower. All fantastic!

I started with the shrimp cocktail, followed by the surf and turf, which included a filet mignon and a lobster tail. The shrimp cocktail was served hot. It was actually good, but it was the first hot shrimp cocktail I've ever had, so it was a bit unusual. When my surf and turf arrived, the filet was overcooked and the lobster tail was undercooked. When the bartender asked how everything was, I told her. She responded that they could put the lobster tail back on the grill to cook it longer, but there was nothing they could do about the filet. I agreed to have the lobster tail cooked a bit more. Unfortunately, when it came back, it was overcooked to the point that it felt as though the chef was trying to make a point rather than fix the problem. This is a one-and-done restaurant for me.

The inside is charming and has that old wooden bar smell that I like. This would be a great place to grab a drink on a cold winter day. Very Scottish, lol. We were seated immediately for our 6:30 dinner reservation. We each ordered appetizers, which took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, even the cup of soup. Mozzarella sticks were nothing special, the cheddar tomato soup was really tasty. My mother in law loved the cock-a-leekie soup, and my father in law liked his scotch egg. It took another 20-25 minutes for our entrees to arrive. For a restaurant that closes at 8 pm, it was surprising at how long the food took to come out. They must have a very small kitchen. Everyone in our group liked their meal. My "loaded vegetarian baked potato" was just a full cup of sour cream and cheese on top of a potato with lukewarm broccoli on the side. A bit disappointing, with there were at least chives or seasoning. Basically nothing else vegetarian on the menu so this was what I was stuck with. Desserts were good, especially the sticky toffee pudding. I would call this place a step above average in the area, but service leaves a lot to be desired.

I usually stay at Best Western, but their stay 4 nights but pay for 3 attracted me to try again HH is NOT a B&B. It is a mansion with nice rooms connected to a motel. They have a nice bar, but only open it when large group books motel. They have a commercial kitchen and dining room, but don't use them. I was at an event, and food came from outside caterer (pretty poor buffet, but that wasn't HH's problem). The motel rooms are clean but spartan, no coffee maker, just a small TV and a bed. One light didn't even have a lampshade on it. In the old days the restaurant was one of the best in town, but that was a long time ago. HH's idea of breakfast is a few piles of pre-packaged scones and muffins that were there all day, every day. And a Kuerig to make your own coffee/tea. For service, there is someone at the desk from 9AMish to 4:30PM. Nobody there overnight. If you arrive after 4:30PM (checkin begins at 3PM), your key will be in an envelope taped to the OUTSIDE of the front door. And you're given a 4 digit code to open the front door. If, god forbid, there's a fire at night, firemen would have no clue which rooms are occupied since no employee would be present to tell them. If as a customer you need some help after 4:30PM, you are just f&%ked. This used to be a pretty nice place, but time and decay have not been kind. As it is with the rest of Springfield. I don't consider it a business, its more like a hobby. Even with the reasonable price for extended stays, I won't be back. And that's just sad, it could be so much more.
