I called to place and order for pick up and the phone was picked up and put on the counter. I could hear 2 ladies chit chatting like they had nothing to do and could even make out some of what they were saying and it wasn't very nice. I tried yelling hello to get them to pick the phone up off the counter to no avail. I held for over 3 minutes in hopes someone would pick the phone up but gave up. Of course when I call back the phone is busy. So headed there to order for take out, commented that the phone was off the hook and was told well, it's been ringing off the hook. When we first tried this place, we mentioned to the waitress that we were looking for a New Favorite Breakfast place. She told us we had found it... and she was right! The menu includes a page of healthy breakfast options - sadly they always seem to have an amazing sounding special featuring their in-house baked bread that I HAVE to try instead. And also, a warmed up apple cider donut to start. The homefries are better than average, the ratio of ingredients to eggs in the omelets is perfect, and if you like the toast, you can buy a loaf to take home! The only thing I don't like is that the mimosas (or pointsettas, which the very helpful wait staff introduced me to) have ice in them. Stopped in this morning on our way home from strawberry picking. It had been 9 years since we last got breakfast and I'm happy to report it was even better than I remembered. Everyone is friendly and there is an atmosphere exuding family vibes and team work. I had the tomato and avocado hollandaise, with a side of corned beef hash, excellent. Adam had a basic breakfast with a blueberry pancake and said he never wants to get breakfast anywhere else, ever. Noah got an Apple cider donut and the apple pie waffles and he was the happiest 16 yr old could be after 2 desserts for breakfast. They were both so satisfied they had to head to the city pool to work it all off! This place is great. It's a family owned local business and the staff is super friendly. Great in the winter or summer, but winter is preferable because you can sit next to the lovely fire place. Have tried a bunch of stuff here and it's all good. Their dinner rolls are the best and the clam chowder is to die for. read more

We have been coming to this restaurant for breakfast off and on for years and it occurred to me that we have never put in a review. The staff is excellent, their personalities are friendly and down to earth as well as very accommodating to your wants & needs. The food is absolutely fantastic! I have never had a bad meal here. First time my husband and I had been there. We were seated immediately at a dirty table which the young lady who sat us said she would be right back to wash the table. She came right back and sprayed a solution from a bottle which went onto both me and my husband. That should have been my que to just leave. But we stayed hoping for a great breakfast as we had not been out to eat in over a year with the pandemic. Our waitress came over and took our drink order and sent them to our table by the girl who was clearing and washing tables. My ice tea tasted literally tasted like fish, I couldnt drink it. The waitress came to take our orders. I didn't have a chance to tell her about my ice tea as she turned to the table directly behind us and started to talk to them Immediately after my husband gave his food order. When our food came, which was pretty quick, the waitress placed the 2 plates on the table and immediately turned and walked to another table. I never had a chance to ask for silverware and napkins. After 3-4 minutes I walked to the place where they were kept and asked for some silverware. The young lady who cleared table said she would get some because they were all being washed. she brought one set of silverware to the table, she returned soon after with another set. My pancake was so gummy I ate 3 bites from the edge and left the rest. The bacon was so blubbery it wasn't eatable, I did eat my over cooked egg, I was hungry . My husbands French toast was barely warm and his bacon was blubbery as well. The waitress never came back to see if everything was ok nor did she ask when she finally came with the check after I flagged her down for it. There were fresh loaves of bread sitting on the table where everyone coming into the restaurant had to walk by them as they were uncovered. Very disappointing on all aspects. read more

This place I have passed a million times as we live pretty close. We took the two kids with us looking for a change for breakfast. We were seated immediately in a cozy little restaurant. The kids were immediately taken with the baked goods on display as we walked through the door. The breakfast menu was pretty standard but there was a great healthy options menu which I ordered from. I got the oatmeal and fresh fruit cup which was very fresh! We shared a couple cider donuts which were good but a tad stale. Everyone was happy with their order and the service was outstanding. My wife an I had Excellent breakfast. Eggs, meat, home fries toast and corned beef hash. The home fries were not deep fried and the corned beef hash was so good we ordered extra to take home. Linda our server was fantastic. She did a great job presenting all the meal options, up selling and regularly checking on us. They serve a variety of mixed drinks such as Mimosa ect. Linda suggested a Poinsettia. It was very tasty and refreshing. This is a small, local Mom and Pop establishment with a basic rustic feel. Do not expect modern and updated. Their menu selection is large. Open for Breakfast and lunch only. We did not care for the bacon, next time I will ask for onion in the home fries. They have a wide variety of breads, which the make! I have a tendency to only write reviews if I'm not happy with something. Not today! I was here this morning and left very impressed. My job allows me into the kitchens and storage areas of restaurants. Some are really scary. This place is clean. I'm talking no dirt on the basement floor clean. Good sanitation practices are in use. Gloves, aprons etc. I did not have a chance to have a meal while I was here but did take a homemade donut with me for the road. Amazing! Chocolate glazed. I have been coming to Hampton beach for most of my life, until I arrived at the copper lantern have I received such bad service and food. I am a chef and could lead the kitchen how to prepare prime rib, What my wife and I had was so tough I could use the rib they served us to repair for leather on the sole of my shoe, When told the wait staff that I meat was tough we were told that the way we cook it "hence" they need someone to show them how to cook prime rib, and we were told that's the way, we have done it for years, and there was no compromise they would not take it off the check, we offered to pay for the soup we had eaten, We could not trust the kitchen we did not want anything else just to get out an run has fast has we can, they need to know the Meaning of customer service, I will tell more people what you order no matter how it comes out it's take it or leave it your paying for it, What an ego this owner had not to show one bit of respect for us I was disgusted. Are you kidding me?? I have never, ever been treated like this by management. Waffel arrives with none of the "stuff" on top. So we told the waitress, who brings it back to the kitchen, and then back to us with walnuts on top. Cool, how about the other 2 things? So we tell the waitress again who stares at us blankly for an awkward amount of time- clearly not knowing the menu, but honestly thats fine. Some people may be training... So she brings us one more ingredient on the side for her to plate, and still leaves off the 4th. Not the worst of it. But at this point the rest of us are done eating pretty much and the person who ordered the waffle (and who asked for milk 3 times for her now cold coffee) is feeling a little neglected and hungry, so after no one checked on us for a while I got up and asked our waitress who was in the kitchen with 6 other waitresses if we could speak to the manager. She points into the group of girls and says "Linda's the manager" and practically runs away. So I asked the girls which one of the 6 of them was linda? One girl pointed her out as another waitress who had just walked past me, clearly hearing me ask for Linda and I politely asked if they could send her over please. I watch them tell Linda who then proceeds to wait on 3 other tables in a leisurely fashion, taking orders, running food, glancing over at us and making a big show of how hard she was working in a practically empty dining room with plenty of waitstaff to help. When she came over to the table we quietly and calmly explained what happened with the food and her response was, "so you want whipped cream?" So we tried to explain to her... No, Linda, thats not the point. We are simply giving you feedback on the staff, both front and back of house, since as the manager I assume you would want to know when both people have no knowledge of the menu. So she offered to take the waffle off the bill. Thanks! That was the one right move she made. But with her attitude of expecting us to be gracious about it I mentioned that we asked for her 3 times and that we waited a really long time to speak with her about it. Still, not the worst part.... She then, very un-managerially, gets up in my face letting me know that she had other "very important customers" before me that needed to be addressed. But Linda, there were only 5 tables in the restaurant and 6 waitresses aside from you standing in the kitchen and youre the only manager. Youre telling me you needed to wait on 3 of those tables and couldnt have asked ANY of them to watch your tables for a minute while you addressed an issue in the restaurant... Calling her bullshit and saying that to be honest, customers with issues are of importance, she then put her hand up in my face, cut me off, said "there is nothing I can do to help you" and walked back to the kitchen. Put her hand up in our face... So I then told her on our way out (albeit in front of her staff that were all still standing there) that if she didnt want to fix the situation that we were just going to leave. A nice waitress in the kitchen piped up and said, "we DO want to fix it" and I saw a glimmer of hope for the place before Linda once again cut her off and said "there is nothing I can say to you to fix this". There were maybe 5 sentences exchanged between us Linda... there is plenty more that could have been said. To be honest, like I said, we work in the industry, 3 of us are managers ourselves so we know how to talk to, approach, and troubleshoot with our clients. There was nothing over the top about this situation but it was handled so incredibly poorly and insultingly by Linda that we will never go back. And if Linda is in fact the owner that the other negative review was referring to then a pattern seems to be emerging here on Yelp... read more

It's okay. The food is overpriced and they charge you $3 for bacon that is clearly Oscar Mayer pre-cooked and reheated bacon. There is also an additional charge on drink refills. WOW!!! Just got charged $12.80 for 3 eggs over easy, homefries, toast and coffee. The homemade bread seemed to be under cooked and coated with something that didn't seem like butter. It had a french toast texture. While I did ask for over easy, my plate had a puddle of uncooked egg whites as I tried to eat them. I left.
