This review is for the Permanent Vacation. The Tiki Bar is a very unique and fun experience, however the staff is not very knowledgable, and the Bar Service takes forever, over 25 mins for a drink. They have a lot of rules, kind of like a Disney attraction. Neat experience for a date night, but not a place to frequent very often. They ran out of Pineapples for their pineapple drink, and said they only had a limited supply. We were there at 7pm on a Friday. We was told they only prep 3 pineapples for the night. When I mentioned to them that a drink should not take 25 mins to prepare, they said simply, well here it does. My intent is to WRITE THE WORST REVIEW that I am capable of writing. The staff at this place displayed the most inhumane, egregious, and down right cruel behavior to my father - that it amounts to ABUSE, assault, and quite frankly we are considering legal action. If you saw/taped an elderly man fall and the physical assault that followed, please let me know. DETAILS: I am writing this review on behalf of my father - a senior citizen. My parents went to Copper Rocket for lunch 2 Saturdays ago around 11am in August 2023. My father recently had eye surgery. When he entered Copper Rocket from the bright daylight to the very dark restaurant, he couldn't see the stage, and he had a terrible fall and hit his head on a table. Instead of helping him (Or even doing nothing), the managing staff quickly came over and YELLED at him to leave. He SCREAMED and refused service to my frail aging parents. The manager was clearly drunk at this early hour, yet had the audacity to accuse my aging and sober father of drinking - when he clearly had a fall because of the poorly lit entry way. The man should have helped him and offered to call an ambulance. Instead - he physically threw him out of the Copper Rocket!! He injured -my father, who is clearly a senior citizen, and the kindest man you will ever meet. My father was so dazed by the head injury, that he only later realized he should have called the police to file for assault. It made me so sad to hear this story. What has this world come to? Why can't we help an old man up after he has fallen? I do believe in forgiveness, but my family will NEVER return to this business. read more

The Bartender was super friendly and he was very nice, but I ordered the candied Mango Habanero and they tenders came out dry and we're just 100% hot, no sweet and spicy taste, no mango taste, and they were not candied at all. :/ They were having comedy open mic, but a few of the jokes were really distasteful. Making fun of the LGBT community and Racial slurs. I was excited to come here, because I just saw the episode of it on Bar Rescue, but.. I won't be coming back. read more

If you're looking to meet the two most under qualified and dumb restaurant employees in the industry, this is the place for you! The nasty curly headed bar tender and the manager with the patchy grey goatee are proof that you don't need to know a ~thing~ about your field to be employed in this state! I was traveling from out of state and wanted to have a drink with some friends. When asked to present my ID, I quickly presented it and was immediately accused of having a fake ID, refused service and made to feel like an issue. The manager and bartender laughed at me and told me to "try again" as if I needed a better "fake" Then they threatened to confiscate MY LEGAL IDENTIFICATION. They were loud, drew attention to the situation and as a 28 year old, I was honestly flabbergasted. But I was not wrong so I insisted the manager and the bartender go look up my home states ID. I was determined to not let poor service ruin my night with my friends... i let my friends know what was happening and wasn't shocked to hear that the bar tender was known to speak down to people and be unkind. My friend who goes there every week said she's constantly rude and clearly in the wrong field. As my friends and I were deciding to go some where with better service and after About 20 minutes, the bartender simply walked up and just asked for my drink order. No apology, no kindness, no acknowledgment of her wrong doings, just blatant ignoring of her loud ignorance. The patchy goatee manager later delivered the food we ordered and also didn't apologize for loudly chastising me for simply trying to patronize his business. 11/10 will not be back. I will say it's inspiring to know even if I have no brain cells, I can still be employed here! read more

Not impressed. Was famished and hopeful due to the good reviews. Perhaps it was too late for the kitchen staff to turn out a good product. It was 10:30 on Saturday night. Ordered the beef dip sandwich, everything was cold. The cheese on the sandwich wasn't even melted...at all. The fries were cold. The onion rings on top were the warmest items, but only lukewarm. The server was cordial and efficient. Received a discount of some sort, but the requested printed receipt never materialized. Likely won't be returning. read more

We went for the first time specifically for Simon Trivia Night on Thursday. IT WAS A BLAST! It goes from 1900-2100 but can run over for much longer. There are four separate games, so if you don't make it on time it's no biggie. We had a group of 6 which was plenty but you can play with how ever many in your group. It was very lax and overall a great place for hosting trivia. I'm excited to go back. The atmosphere was typical of most bars, the food was also typical of most bars. Of the several things that we ordered, the only thing we enjoyed was the French fries. The wings were dry and drizzled w/ sauce and the space balls were covered in powered sugar to the point of extracting any and all moisture from your mouth while you're eating them. I'm huge on sweets and I did not want anything to do with them. All in all, loved the place and looking forward to becoming a regular for trivia, but giving them a 4 because of the menu. read more

What a great dive pub that had an unbelievable beer selection. We also got 50% off our first beer from checking into Yelp which was a great surprise. The staff was wearing masks which sometimes is not seen at a dive bar these days. Great prices, food looked amazing, and great company that made it that much better. read more

I am glad we did! The food was great, much better than I expected for pub food and the service was top notch. The server was attentive and didn't rush us at all. I've been waiting for this day, my return to the copper rocket since its reopening, and the day finally came! I wanted to come in for lunch and avoid any crowd or noise that could possibly alter my opinion. Just coming in, the remodel is absolutely great! The pennies in the bar, more seating inside with low tables inside and outside. I'll miss the pool table and darts, but happy to see that they still have trivia, open mic night, and karaoke! But today was a test of willpower and curiosity about the food. I've been on a sober fasting for two months, and saw that Copper Rocket has 50% off draft beers with a check in, and they have craft beer on draft which I'm a huge fan of, and I successfully said no to the wonderful offer of the variety of beers they have on draft, bottle and can. The food however, I succumbed to a sandwich that reminded me of myself, "The Fatboy" a club sandwich on steroids that weighs over a pound! The sandwich had corned beef, Turkey, ham, two fried eggs, four cheeses, lettuce, tomato, mayo, fries, and Cole slaw. Each sandwich comes with fries, and I must, these are some damn good fries! Their crisp but yet chewy and beer-battered. The sandwich was good, but was odd. It was hot with the fries and egg, but cold with the other toppings. I ordered tonight, my food was cold, wrong order, and I ordered a beer while waiting and it was a complete problem for the staff somehow and had to be two transactions. I'm sorry but service has dropped and quality has as well. I will however never stop supporting Copper Rocket, just disappointed in what it has become. read more

Nothing was good about it. We sat outside as there were no small tables inside. All was fine up through ordering food, then completely downhill. We ordered the smoked fish dip. It is so grossly salty that it is not edible. We ordered food to eat there and 1 item for take out. So they bring the take out item next, not in take out container. Forever later they brought out 1 person's meal packaged for take out, which they had to redo. Then sometime later brought the other person's meal. All the while, we had to listen to the manager having meetings with employees about their schedules and how great she is at managing. Patrons should not have to listen to HR issues, and it seems that the manager should be managing and the employees should be actually working. Also, the burger I got was barely mediocre. read more

Finally a complete refresh everyone has been waiting for! "Third times a charm" This place is now open as of February 2018.. Completely redone from floor to ceiling with a modern look and feel with TV's everywhere.. Maitland was short on local bars/restaurants until now. Pretty good menu with even better food with attention to detail on everything. An outstanding beer and wine list and a killer draft! This time around I just ordered the Double-loaded nachos and they were really good to snack on! Great beer specials on drafts, bottles, and cans. Plenty of open seating in different parts of this new open floor plan space. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean bathrooms. Today is Thursday so they were doing Trivia and it was so much fun!! Place was packed with a really nice crowd. Plenty of parking. Located in Maitland however extremely close to Winter Park. I feel like this area is more Winter Park than anything. Right across the street from beautiful Lake Lily and Enzian theater. I'll be here often that's for sure! read more

The Grinch stole from Maitland! Wow, "Bar Rescue" NEEEDS to do a reunion show of this place. Nothing like walking into a bar to eat, to be greeted by the one and only Grinch in town! The place wasn't busy. The owner/manager, Mr. Grinch, got his mistletoe in check, and asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered a popular beer on tap... "We're out...," and walked away. Didn't offer other options. My man ordered a screwdriver; a simple pour of vodka and orange juice, right? No.... I ordered one, thinking it would make this guys life easier. The drinks tasted like crap. We went outside and no one checked on us, until finally the Grinch came out with menus. We ordered a burger. "You want cheese on that?" The answer was yes, but no mention of what kind of cheese. Time went by and he came out asking what I wanted to eat. I questioned the juice in the mixed drinks, as it didn't taste like orange juice. Maybe grapefruit? With those beedy Grinch eyes, his reply was he didn't even have that juice, and of course, No offer to make something different.. We finally had enough of our the nightmare on Elm Street, and started walking to the car. Mr. Grinch came out of the restaurant, with a cheeseburger in hand, YELLING AT US ACROSS THE PARKING LOT, (in front of other customers!), having the nerve to ask why we were leaving. Tried to order wings to go as it was extremely loud as it was their karaoke night. I explained to them that I have a food allergies so I would have to have my wings grilled, I was told it would only take 15 minutes I paid $20 cash. 25 minutes later I went to check on my order and they informed me they hadn't even begun to make it, their manager advised it would only take 15 more minutes. I stepped back outside where there were numerous drunk people, stumbling around and arguing that they were cut off, I went back to check on my wings and they had deep fried them with oil they used to make seafood, I said, can I just get my money back since I paid cash. Another 5-10 minutes they get their manager, and I'm informed that they have a new update on their computers and can't refund my $20 cash but if I emailed him he could work it out, I used to go to this establishment with coworkers, I will never step foot back in there again extremely poor customer service, they overpromise underdeliver! read more

Went in for the first time yesterday, called in ahead to make sure that my girlfriend and I could bring our pup (they have a patio) and they assured us we could. Sat in the back patio with our pup, got asked about 4x's within 10 min "are you guys ready to order food yet?".. eventually we were ready to order food, I got a pizza and she got the "fat boy".. pizza was very very bland for the ridiculous price, tasted like prego marinara sauce slapped on the pizza. The service from the man working that day was horrible, he was very rude to both of us and rushed us to order, yet when we were done eating, we didn't see him at all, never came back outside to ask if we needed anything, I had to walk inside after 30 mins of sitting there (after eating) to get a to go box (which I didnt even want to take pizza home, just felt bad) AND to pay our tab, we never received a check outside. That was my FIRST & LAST time there. Horrible service. Bad mannered employee (the man). Way overpriced gross pizza (would rather eaten a frozen Publix pizza). I ordered via Uber eats & the Uber driver got there 40 minutes ago. The wings were done about 20 minutes ago. So by now they're cold. By the time it gets to me it's going to all be cold. When I called no one answered. By the time I got an answer, I got a very rude woman who basically told me it wasn't their fault that they couldn't time food right and they were very busy. took me a little to figure out if i was going to write this review or not but here i am, again. came in with my friend after work to get some food October 12th 2023 in the evening....of course we sat at the bar while we watched several employees behind the bar walk past us for way too long to even be greeted or said hello to. upon finally ordering our food from the waitress. my friend orders first and then i ordered. it took a long time for the food to come and although my friend ordered first my food solely came first. i tried to wait a couple minutes for his food to come before i decided to just start eating. now mind you again there was several bartenders behind the bar serving people and we were the only ones that seemed to be invisible to the other bartenders and one guy particularly who claimed he was retired and wasn't on the clock or working yet he was serving people drinks expeditiously and taking payments. he was tall and quite large man but just describing him because he blamed him having a long day for his horrible hospitality. and then the waitress blamed her new people in the kitchen that the food was taking too long. as someone who has been in hospitality and management for 18 years....patrons or guests do not want to hear about your problems or that you have new people in the kitchen. that's actually the last thing guests want to talk about or hear about. you need to retrain just about every employee in the building. by the way my friend ended up never getting his food and we left because i finished my food before he got his and he ordered first. and you guys still made him pay for his drink after all that. it was pretty bad and whoever is behind the bar serving drinks probably shouldn't be retired or not actually working there. next time i'll call authorities for having some random person serving alcohol off the clock. that's illegal. we will never be back. RE-TRAIN ALL OF YOUR EMPLOYEES! they have 0 hospitality skills. i would run circles around all of them. if you're going to stand behind the bar with your arms folded at least have a smile on your face, say hi to your bar patrons...just seems like everyone "on the clock" has no clue what's going on or how to be hospitable. it's honestly sad and i wish i was a secret shopper. you guys would get ripped even worse. read more

Sadly we will not be returning to The Copper Rocket. We have given them chance and chance again and have had multiple bad experiences for various reasons (servers fudging tips, brittle, dry wings). We decided to give them another go tonight since we live less than a mile away and were hoping they would surprise us. Nope. We ordered 20 wings to go and a side house salad. When I went in to pick up our order the manager was extremely unfriendly and seemed as though I was inconveniencing her in picking up my order. This is also not the first time she has been rude to us and it seems a bit odd that someone in the hospitality industry would be so extremely inhospitable. The salad had lettuce that was clearly old and browning/soggy. If I had lettuce that looked like that at home it would be in the trash. I had to pick through to find the salvageable pieces. We also ordered 20 wings and only received 19. I know, I know one wing. However, I paid for 20 wings and we did not receive 20 wings. Not to mention they were extremely small. The only saving grace is at least this time they were hot and not dry and brittle, although still very small. It's very sad, we would probably be frequent patrons as we live so close and especially during football season, however we've been burned one too many times now dine in and take out. It seems from other reviews that people have had good dine in experience, but for some reason they just cannot get it right for us. Not sure if they just don't prioritize their to go orders or what. Give them a try if you feel like rolling the dice, however we will not be giving this establishment anymore chances. read more

This restaurant is right across from my apartment complex and nails my order every time. Their menu is filled with classic bar food. The best place to watch a game with so many tvs and they will put on whatever game you want. The tenders are my favorite because they're super fresh, thick white meat chicken. All of their dipping sauces are amazing. We have had the Hawaiian pizza before too, which is huge and delicious. read more

The first time my wife and I visited the Copper Rocket we stopped in for lunch and found they had a Giant Bavarian Pretzel to our surprise so we ordered right away as we love pretzels and beer cheese. Let me just say their Giant Bavarian Pretzel is the best we've ever had and the Beer Cheese and Honey mustard that comes with it is amazing. Since then I've been back 4 times just to get the pretzel. On our most recent visit we stopped in for a couple of beers and the pretzel and what stood out most was exceptional service we received, very friendly and knowledgable of the many beers they carry, I just wish they were closer to where we live. read more

This may be the most under rated hidden gem in WP/ Maitland. I think it's the best pub grub in town. Sandwiches and salads are huge portions and very tasty. Nice tap list with rotating local craft brews and all the standby domestic permanent choices. I think they have more TV's per square foot than anywhere else I can think of. I think it's like 48...Great place to watch games, if you land a big high top they will tune the TV at the table to whatever you request. It has quickly become our go-to sports bar, haven't had a single negative issue in 20+ visits. Game On read more

Awesome place. We came for lunch with a party of 11. Food was amazing. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff didn't show up for work, so the manager was cooking when he had planned to train his new server. She was really sweet and tried to make us all happy. Two of our orders were never put into the system so we never got all of the meals. Although it was frustrating, we still had a good experience and are hopeful that the day got better for the staff that was there. read more
