    Sizzling Shrimp Pasta.
    Emma G.

Having never come here to have a cocktail or two, I'm absolutely now under the impression that this is a place to drink at, not eat at. Sometimes "bar first' food can be pretty decent (Star Tavern in Orange, NJ comes to mind), but this is unfortunately not that. Any calories I consume here in the future will be sipped. I ordered lunch for pickup this past Thursday. It was a cold and rainy afternoon so something carby in the pasta family seemed appealing. I opted for the Sizzling Shrimp Pasta ($18.99), which featured penne pasta (one of my faves) in creamy garlic sauce with what was identified as "toasted French bread." The pasta itself was okay - cooked decently and while the sauce was predictably on the heavy side, also okay. I ate about half the dish, including the shrimp (a little sparse but honestly I can't remember the last time I thought a shrimp pasta dish didn't go cheap on the shrimp - the star is always the pasta whether you like it or not). Would I get it again based on that? Eh. Probably not, especially with the higher price point, which would be competitive if the dish itself was a better overall quality but even with my limited experience in this area I know I can get better bang for my buck. And while I did put the leftovers in the fridge, I wasn't interested in eating it the next day. The so-called French bread was literally the worst bread accompaniment I've ever had. Not an exaggeration. Based on appearance, they seemed to be going for kind of a garlic bread vibe with the seasoning. The bread itself was incredibly stale - it tasted like it was a week old, if not older. I had a co-worker sample it, who immediately agreed with me. The top had a little bit of flavoring but the bottom was completely neglected (didn't even seem toasted, which is bizarre) so most of your bite was just plain stale bread. The only positive is that it was so unappealing that I only wasted the calories on the single bite. Huge miss. The only positive (and some would argue this is more important than the food quality - debatable) was that my brief interaction with two staffers when I came to pick up the food was very pleasant. There was a young woman behind the bar who was cheerful and addressed me by name (they had it from the pick-up order), which I always think is a classy, professional touch that doesn't happen enough, and the fellow from the back who gave me my order and handled the financial transaction was chipper as well. I'd consider at least coming back for a drink based on that one- or two-minute exchange, so they're at least hiring good people service-wise. I honestly can't say the same though for the kitchen area.

Was genuinely surprised at the great level of bar food offered here. Most sports bars with dark wood and pub fare are normally meh and three star worthy. The food here was slamming tho. We did the bang bang shrimp were lightly coated and nice zest to them. Pork shank wings were a complete shocker and delish fest!! Can we housemate chips that didn't have too much flavor but were perfect e the spinach and artichoke dip. Speaking of the dip was super cheesy, not overly thick and def freshly prepared, not some frozen crap. Drinks were great as well! Will be coming back to try more

Pulled pork nachos (not great for take out, probably better in person)

Ordered take out the other night. I got the pulled pork nachos. Really didn't translate well for take out, chips were really soggy and the meat was not too flavorful (it's how it's prepared in the south without BBQ sauce). Now my husband got the Thai chili wings with fries and both of those were phenomenal!

Full rack of ribs, fully loaded baked potato, and coleslaw.

Amazing food, great service, very impressed with the waitress that took care of us. Thank you will be coming back!

Brisket was also tender and juicy The sausage was spicy but flavorful Crab cakes was decent, it wasn't overly seasoned so you won't have to worry about that. The sauce was kind of lemony, I would'nt recommend the sauce, The buffalo wings was unique, definetly not your average buffalo sauce, I would recommend eating them here and not to go in my opinion Charred broccoli was tasty Roasted potatoes was about what you would expect. But I enjoyed them, Corn bread was meh in my opinion, it could of been more moist, it wasn't dry but it felt like it was close to being dry especially the way it crumbled, but it was good just not great The lobster and shrimp pasta was a thin spaghetti: it wasn't bad but it was decent The Mac and cheese was cheesey a high 9/10 The cake was delicious and moist, ice cream was regular, enjoyed the graham cracker crumbs, and marshmallows as it complimented the flavors

I love that this is an actual filling station, still with garage doors. You can eat inside or outside - doors were open for the nice weather but I'm sure the place is heated in the winter. Fun sign out front. The very friendly lady at the counter answered all our question and we chatted about the restaurant as we were deciding what to order. All 5 stars so far. So for burgers, I fully admit I'm a bit of a snob and hard to please. I was heartened that these are Pat LaFrieda style burgers: brisket, hanger steak, short rib, not chuck. So I gave it my best shot and ordered a TFS burger (caramelized onion, mushrooms, bacon) with two cheeses, cooked rare, plus a side of onion rings. As others have said here, my "rare" burger came out medium, so I'm sure glad I didn't leave it as the default medium. The burger was a little too salty but otherwise solid and full of flavor like good meats and toppings ought to be. The onion rings were not all that great - solid breading that drowns out the onion, and you don't get a lot for $8 (plus dipping sauces cost extra, unless you just take a ketchup or mustard packet). Verdict: I like this restaurant, but it's not enough to draw me back here or any other Filling Stations (all in authentic garages) without two changes: * When providing high quality meats, please cook burgers thick instead of thin so that they can come out actually rare for the best taste. * There were no prices in the liquor menu. I'm not even going to try ordering a beer (or other) if you don't tell me the cost up front.

I couldn't believe how many different food items some of which I've never heard of or thought to put in a combination. The desserts are also absolutely adorable! And the drink drinks, the little brown sugar bear to make it extra sweet is so adorable and cute. The drinks that they offer are very unique and to be quite honest I'm incredibly impressed. I never thought of mixing some of those items together that taste absolutely amazing. The inside definitely does not look like a traditional Chinese restaurant. It has outer space theme and type of modern lighting. It's honestly not bad and overall a very nice atmosphere. The weight staff was incredibly friendly and helpful explaining what we had to do for the menu. I signed up for their rewards program because I definitely intend on coming back here again. If you intend on come here, I highly recommend the pineapple bun ice cream. It is so adorable and delicious.

Unfortunately, the service really took away from it. We waited a long time for everything: from drinks to appetizers to our entrees. and there were only two other tables in the entire restaurant. When one drink came out and we asked about the other, we were told it was "taking a while to froth the milk," which felt odd considering how long we had already been waiting. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive their food much faster than we did. It felt inconsistent and honestly a little dismissive. When it was time to pay, the waitress asked me to just tap my card without even showing me the bill or letting me see the total, and then hovered over us while we were trying to close out. That part felt uncomfortable and rushed. The food was good, but the service needs serious improvement.
