I love the interior and concept of the place but.... They have a sub-par Beer selection (better off going to Antoine McGuire's nearby). Menu is missing acceptable vegetarian options (I am not vegetarian). Food is clearly coming off of a buffet table, meats can be dry, sides can be slimy. Completely offended I went, during a downpour of rain, back inside the restaurant to complain. I came back outside and told her I will call the police if she didn't allow me to leave. She became irate and started cursing at me. Luckily, ownership came out and made her move so I could get out of the parking spot. This restaurant is very family friendly and the staff and service are absolutely great! The place is beautiful and the TV's are in abundance so you can keep track of games! My husband and I had burgers, which were average. My children had chicken fingers & fries, which were average as well. We had Carribbean jerk wings, which we did really enjoy. This is another one of those places which gets points simply for existing, in a place that's something of a crossroads where a traveller is likely to be grateful for almost any decent meal. The Long Path passes through Mount Ivy on its way between South Mountain Park and into Harriman via Cheesecote. It's also the terminus for the 45-bus to New York, so there are two reasons why a hiker or traveller is likely to find himself here. The Copper Still is not open for breakfast, but I believe there are other places around which are, so you're not going to starve if you find yourself at Mount Ivy in the morning--unlike Bear Mountain where the ghastly Bear Mountain Inn is the only place for miles around. The Copper Still opens at 11:00 AM and is open all day thereafter. I know this because one day, planning to arrive here for lunch, I grievously underestimated the time it would take me to walk across High Tor and South Mountain parks, and didn't get here until 3:30 PM! Fainting from hunger, I wondered whether I'd find everything (years in Europe with their fussy and narrow mealtime-hours will do that to you.) But no, this is America, once a restaurant is open they serve meals continuously. I've had lunch here twice, both times the Farmer's Burger with an egg, bacon, cheese, and brown gravy. Good, decent meal. Also a good salad with pears, blue cheese, and, I think, raspberries. So if you're passing through MI and need lunch, you could do worse. One complaint: the first time (this is more than a year ago) I asked about drinks, and the waiter only said: "We have a full bar." Sorry, that's a ridiculous reply. Surely you have at least a list of beers? One fact for anyone who might be planning to return to New York from here: there's a bus at 10:00 AM and then nothing until 3:50 PM (and that one might well be late.) Grumble...so if you leave the CS at around 1:00 PM, don't make the mistake I did, and sit at the bus stop, wondering as the hours pass where the $*&# the &*%$ bus is, know you have a three-hours wait and stroll in South Mountain park or something. read more

My wife and I walked in at about 11:15 pm last night. We have been inside the previous bar, Chugging Rhino, that is now the Copper Still. The new layout is beautiful and the location is completely renovated. Last night at about 11:15 the bar was busy but many of the tables were empty, so my wife and I decided to sit at a table . A very nice young man took our drink order and informed us that the kitchen was closed. He returned quickly and told us that his shift was over and we had to get our drinks from the bar. Now hungry and thirsty we find two seats at the bar that sill has four empty bottles of beer from previous customers. My wife and I sit there behind the bottles with my credit card in my hand for about 15-20 mins without a glance in our direction or to clean the garbage left behind. We left thirsty and hungry to Stony point and got a bar pie and many drinks at a lot busier bar. Sorry look and a hello would have made the difference. read more

We didn't even finish our one drink before we got up and left. Its a dump bar that has employees that have no respect for their customers. This place is clean, updated, food is okay. Burgers are great, Mac and cheese is delicious. I just wish they would use elbow pasta instead of Penne. The wings are good, but you need to ask for sauce on the side in order for it to be crispy. I don't like their fries. I would prefer regular. To let you know...I posted a comment about how AWFUL the Mojitos were we bought and I found out a bartender did not make them. I love this place and really hoped Jen the bartender would back off but NOPE she just kept being nasty to me. I was a regular actually since they opened when Keri was the bartender, my dad and I would go a few days a week and enjoy her company. I am not a bad person I made a mistake posting the Mojito was no good ( and it was awful) . As soon as restaurants were allowed to open for take out I spent at least 200 a week at the still supporting them. ANd I mean at LEAST it was probably more. I am literally heart broken over the treatment on my final day there. I would never treat a loyal , good tipping customer the way she treated me. I would have been fired if I did when I was a waitress. I apologized for my comment. I miss Frankie and Keri and Rich. I wish them the best and I hope Frankie likes his socks LOL. My first time at this place as I pass it everyday. First of all parking is the worst. Good luck in that dept. Walked in on a slow early eve weekday. Waitress was great. I ordered chicken wings (mild) to start. Wings were ok, but no residual sauce outside of a small cup of blue cheese. Portion was good though. My date ordered Crab Cakes with Cole Slaw. She loved them. I had 1/2 rack of ribs. I only ate 1 as I had to check the menu. Did I order a leather belt to chew. Wow. Tough. Tough. Ribs were obviously left over from days ago. Not fall off the bone ribs at all. Drinks were good. Will try burgers next time. Wish me luck read more

The food is all around really good. I love there strawberry salad it's simple but amazing taste with the goat cheese and a very nice warm balsamic dressing. The only downside is the up charge for adding meats is a bit too high. Adam the bartender is great host who treats anyone and all like he's a friend. The bar area is great to watch a game along with Adam pouring you a pint to welcome you in. They also offer some type of slow cooked bbq dinner most nights which is awesome choice also. Always have every TV tuned to something different and the staff has always been really nice. Want to try something a little different? Thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Ordered too much food but looking forward to leftovers. I ordered a full rack of ribs, thinking that nowadays it's hard to find a restaurant that serves up a respectable half rack. Well, this full rack was a full rack. Very tasty (in house smoked) but messy. I prefer dry rub but these were very good! My friend ordered a sizzling steak and said it was good as well. We ordered two appetizers to share- ultimate nachos and their own signature "pork wings" in a Thai sauce. They both were good and the "wings" were unique! I couldn't help but think as I was enjoying this meal, that the chef here must really care and be proud because it shows in the dishes they prepare. The "wings" came with home made potato chips which were perfect, the ribs came with fries which I hardly touched for fear of really over doing it, and the steak came with onion rings which were actually REAL onion rings - prepared to perfection. Greeted promptly with a smile, and got great service by 4 different people checking on us more than enough times. I really appreciate their efforts to make sure everything was good. My fiancé and I went out to have an early dinner with our kids. We decided to get an appetizer and we ordered the "Almost famous pork wings". They were out of this world delicious! The meat was so tender that if fell off the bone very easily. It came with a delicious sauce and restaurant made potato chips. The sliced steak sandwich and the buffalo chicken wrap were very good also. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was great as well. Had to dock another star because I opted to call in my order to take back home. Only to find out the serving is almost half of what it is in the restaurant.
