Great spot for a cocktail when you're in Minden! $6 IPA and several food options. Great spot and very friendly service.

    Inside. Nice and cool.

Cute place, simple food, brief menu but what we ordered was Yummy. This is more of a drinking place so I'd assume the drinks are probably pretty good too. We don't drink so it was super cheap. Roast beef sandwich with pasta salad and jumbo hot dog. Nice place to hang out. Lots of customers drinking at bar or watching sports on TVs.

    Meatball slider - sooo satisfying!!

Once again with my trusty Yelp app in hand up pops The Corner Bar and this was a GREAT FIND! Not only were the reviews true about them on Yelp but also on other Social Media venues and they did NOT disappoint. Small local corner bar with a warm, inviting exterior with sports memorabilia all around. The service we received was beyond friendly and welcoming - the server/waitress ROCKS here and we have enjoyed coming back to see her and YES she's remembered us too! For drinks I have had 'the' PERFECT Raspberry Vodka Press each time I've come here and my hubby opts for a craft beer of his choice (usually what his palate is up for that evening). Now to the AMAZING food that also brought us here - first the JUMBO Shrimp Cocktail - ummm oxymoron, yep we all know the pun and what not, but if you dream of the PERFECT Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with celery cut to the precise size that (okay I'm losing it over here - MUST GOOOO BACK FOR ANOTHER SOON!) is the right balance of celery to cocktail sauce ratio - yep PERFECTION! Our Gal/Server Extraordinare told us about their Meatball Sliders and that they were AMAZING plus she could get those out pretty quick if we would like to give those a try so ummm yeppers!! WE WERE IN! When this Bite-sized Slider arrived it looked and smelled amazing - the melted mozzarella, marinara and the meatball were seasoned and tasted DIVINE! Next we carefully looked over the pizza choices and then selected the Margherita Pizza and once again with some of our wonderful server advice we opted to add prosciutto. When our personal size pizza arrived it was tastyyyy- OH YEAH!! The crust was crisp to perfection, the toppings were hot, cheese melty and the flavors - OMTASTY!! YES!! the reviews are spot on for ONE OF THE BEST PIZZA'S AROUND!! We have made the point to pop in again and have Meatball Sliders of course and tried the Pizza of the night - and we were once again ELATED with both service and food plus our drink choices. And we will DEFINITELY be back again and again - maybe make one of the Wednesday Trivia nights too. Happy Yelping Everyone!

Mushrooms, Roasted Red Peppers and Procuitto Pizza

My friend, daughter and I had never been here so we decided to give it a try. We happened to go on Wednesday trivia night. We were asked if we had come in for the trivia which we told them it was our first time there. We were encouraged to play. We came in last place but had fun participating. Our server was amazing. Super friendly personalty. She suggested the stuffed mushroom which were so yummy. Our personal pizzas were cooked to perfection with just enough of the crust crispy. I added procuitto to my pizza and it was delicious! I wish there were a few more items on the menu to choose from but consider the size of the kitchen I realize that offer a few amazing things and keep it simple might be their goal. We will be back!

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with pasta salad. Both are pretty good. Pricing is fair as well. Great service.

I absolutely love this restaurant! It's under new ownership, but they've kept the menu and Chicago…read moreimported ingredients the exact same, with some exciting new developments...! Tonight I ordered the pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza and a Chicago dog to-go. The pie was square-cut Chicago-style, with browned cheese, pepperoni, crumbled Italian sausage, and mushrooms. The sausage has the fennel note you expect on a Chicago pie, not bland grocery sausage. The dog was built the right way: Vienna beef, poppy seed bun, yellow mustard, neon relish, onion, tomato wedges, pickle spear, sport pepper, and celery salt. The restaurant still imports the dogs, sausage, Italian beef, relish, giardiniera, buns, and rolls from Chicago, and the mushrooms are imported and blanched. The dining room still has the original family photos and Chicago memorabilia. Ordering is easier than it used to be. They now have online ordering at chicagomikes.pizza, you can create an account, and they deliver. I also witnessed DoorDash there while waiting for my order to be ready; so that's an option now too. If you sign in to the new website, they run a points setup that can turn into discounts or a free side once it adds up. Confirm the current reward on the site when you order, because that part is not spelled out yet on the menu. This is still the Chicago-style stop I use in the Carson Valley: thin square pie and a Chicago dog made perfectly; not a generic pizza chain. They also sell deep dish if that is what you want. Hours are limited (typically closed Monday and Tuesday), so check before you go. Menu: https://chicagomikes.pizza/menu

So there we were. We…read morewanted to take a bike ride, have breakfast, and enjoy a beautiful spring day. We did all of that and we decided to have breakfast at the Overland. We knew it wasn't going to be crowded and the food will be fresh, but it was so much more than that. Overland is lucky to employ Tennessee, who might just be the best server in the Carson Valley. I grant you that we haven't been to every restaurant and we haven't had every server and so it could be hyperbole to try to tell you that he's the best, but we need to be sure to let you know that he is clearly in the top percentile of quality, local servers. Why you ask. He anticipated our every need, and so we always had water, always had coffee, and he cleared every single time he got near the table. His positive energy is infectious. Yes, I can hear you now, what about the food? My wife can, on occasion, high maintenance, and this was one of those mornings. She ordered the Eggs Benedict without the bottom bread plus one more whole extra Eggs Benedict, and Tennessee didn't flinch. I ordered the vegetarian omelette and I had side breakfast potatoes. All of it tasted great. I even tried the hollandaise sauce on my wife's eggs Benedict and it tasted fresh and tasty. So, I say give Tennessee a raise, and when you go to the Overland, hope that you get seated in his section because it will be an experience that you won't forget soon, and the food is very good. Somehow, this breakfast restaurant is flying under the radar on Saturdays and Sundays. They truly deserve to be packed as they have the formula for success, great service, good food, and a clean environment..

Bonus, we caught happy hour! Our server was helpful, clarifying some menu and general questions for us. We didn't realize that it was the same owners of Great Basin, but it was very reminiscent with pub fare, similar menu styles, and Great Basin beers on tap. We'd stop again, but wouldn't go out of our way since we have several Great Basin locations to choose from in Reno.

Their salad wraps are huge, fresh, and delicious. Much like the rest of the food on their out-of-the-ordinary menu. One word of caution, if you go when the dining room is not busy, you might be better off sitting in the bar. The waitress stays mostly in there, and dining room service can be painfully slow. I checked this place out in the afternoon before deciding to go to dinner there. It looked pretty casual in the menu look like something everybody would enjoy. When we got there, we were greeted nicely and our server, JC, was very nice. All of the food was bountiful. We ordered the appetizer with three different items which was pretty good. It was onion rings, fried zucchini, and fried mozzarella sticks. The zucchini was a little undercooked. On to the main courses. It took longer than we would think and they brought it out in pieces. The two men got theirs first and my daughter and I got hers a few minutes later and Grandma was served last. Grandpa ordered a steak sandwich and he said it was good. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak, which she said was decent. Grandma ordered fish and chips and she said it was so so. The french fries were thick steak type that were really good. A couple of us tried them. My daughter and I were excited when we saw the lobster tacos and we ordered them. The chips that came with them were salty beyond belief! We could not even eat them. When I told JC, she said there's nothing they could do about the chips and she offered to take the salad off the bill which I thought was nice. Both of my daughter and I could not eat the chips. The lobster tacos were not good. If the corn tortillas were warmed or cooked, it must've been very, very little. The lobster was chopped up in a wait and mixed with some kind of sauce that we can barely taste the lobster. We got two tacos and barely ate one. We took them home, but it didn't seem worth it to try to mend this. The best thing I can say is that the people they were very welcoming and pleasant. Also, JC gave my father-in-law a lemon bar for his birthday as we walked out. That was really sweet. Lastly, make sure you bring cash because you have to pay extra for using a card. We have to pay over $6 extra because we used a card. Am I understanding is that is happening a lot in restaurants. So, I don't think this is unusual.

Before you get there, decide how many tacos you want to eat. There will be temptation, stick to your guns. The quick and efficient service may tempt you into an extra taco, resist. Develop the plan, work the plan, stay on the plan. The same goes for weenie Wednesday. The waitress explained it to us once. The owner secures Casper brand hot dogs, bring them over the hill weekly, and the hot dog is designed to snap when you bite into it. I'm convinced this is a covert plan to get you to change your plan. I wish you the best of luck here. The weenie Wednesday menu reflects a variety of flavors that will tempt you into deviating from the plan. I've never heard of a Reuben dog, or a Caesar dog. When I grew up, I had mustard dogs. These dogs are way beyond that and the venue tempts you to try new versions of different hot dogs. One of my excuses the last time I had weenie Wednesday was that " sauerkraut is good for my gut biome." So on taco Tuesday and weenie Wednesday, you could be tempted into a second round. That's not a good thing. The service has been fun, the environment, friendly, and welcoming, people laughing throughout the room, enjoying their food. Makes it a great experience. Oh heck, you're in the building you're hungry, change the plan, enjoy.
