What sets this place apart, if you go more than once, it is like running into family or long lost friends. I can not think of a time when I did not make a friend or see a friend there. Just came here for the first time. Got here a bit late - 11pm on a Friday night. It was surprisingly not crowded! There's a good amount of parking, and the inside is very nice. They don't play the music too loud, and at least for tonight it's 90s music which I'm enjoying a lot. Good selection of beer and good prices!! read more

I have visited here in the past on a couple of other occasions and have not had issues, however my experience tonight does not want me to return. Beer selection was minimal (even though they were written on board they were out of MANY beers listed). The bartender was absolutely the worst I have ever encountered in a bar. Lack of customer service, unfriendly, and no knowledge of beer and what was on tap. Management was no different, made no attempt to help out when place was busy, was worried about writing beers on board that THEY DIDN"T HAVE until later. Absolutely would not recommend this place. If you're near the Alamo Ranch area and are craving craft beer, this is a groovy spot. It's small but it's welcoming. The bartenders are friendly and they know their products. This neighborhood bar brings friendly neighbors together and it's great! My ONLY negative remark is about their food availability. I seem to always go when someone is not in the back to warm up or prepare food. So, why offer it on a menu? I really hope they've improved the bar food issue since my last visit. First bar since moving to SA but this will definitely be one of the best we visit. Our bartender Ely (pronounced Eli) had a great Pandora station playing the whole night and was extremely accommodating and fun. The gf got the cider on tap, while I got a flight with a wide array of tastes. We both enjoyed our drinks very much (she was especially fond of the mead I had). We ordered chips and salsa and they were very tasty. The bar itself is extremely welcoming. Not huge, but it feels open and the decor is tasteful and fun without pigeonholing it into a specific vibe or theme; anyone can feel welcome in there. I think the best part overall though was the people. Not just the staff, but the patrons too. Like previous Yelp reviews have said, it's a neighbourhood bar, and the patrons are clearly invested in it. The gf and I chatted with them throughout the night, including Laurie who was helping out behind the bar preparing for Friday's big event (they have a huge event every last Friday of the month where brewers come to showcase their beer). 5/5 for sure and we'll definitely be back. Very cool little place close to home, great atmosphere and prices are reasonably priced for craft beers. I love the old pictures of San Antonio on the walls, gives a great cozy feel for my old soul. Stumbled upon this nice craft beer place and I would definitely return. It's a bit small, but it's a nice quiet place to hang with your friends. They have over 30 craft beers to choose from and some wines. They also offer you glasses of water and in house made gardetto type mix to munch on. A small selection of bar food is also available as well. The night I went, they were playing 50s music which was superb. They also play live jazz music on certain nights which could get a bit tight since it's a small place. Overall, the atmosphere is nice, and the service is fantastic. Want to take a growler home? Ambiance is very historic, with old bar pictures covering be walls and a great choice of music playing. 30 beers on tap with all the range of choices you could need. Felt like a small neighborhood bar. During our visit they handed out bowls of pub mix, made for a nice added touch. I love pub mix! I know they do have live music occassionally so it would be nice to check out. The outside area was small, I believe two picnic tables were out there and there is a house on the other side of the fence which makes it awkward. Eric was awesome! He was the bartender for my Tuesday night visit. He not only helped everyone at the bar with top notch service but catered food out to people & keep track of the beer levels. Impressed with the flow and ease of ordering at this growler shop. Was a little sad they didn't have 32 oz growler but that won't stop me from coming back. I love that they have "beer festivals" with beer reps supporting their beers by offering tastings. Great spot for rating local beers from SA, ATX and surrounding areas. Food was good- bar food. I adore this beer lovers paradise. They have over 30 beers on tap that are constantly rotating. They use the Untappd app to keep it up to date which is great for me when I want to see what they have at that moment.
