After a nice beach day, I came for dinner with my family. I wanted a Pina Colada, but was informed they couldn't make this so I settled with a Malibu bay breeze (not pictured). My drink was very refreshing after being under the sun. For my food, I ordered the Bridge Wrap with sweet potato fries. The wrap was packed with mozzarella and grilled chicken, and had the perfect amount of balsamic drizzle. Stopped in for lunch and was greeted and seated immediately. Drink order was taken and arrived quickly. Plenty of options for everyone. Decided on the clam chowder, pot stickers, and fish and chips. Chowder came piping hot with a bag of crackers. Chowder was good, nice and creamy, not many clams but plenty of potatoes. Next came the pot stickers and was surprised to find they were deep fried. The dish came with a sesame dipping sauce that had a very enjoyable bite to it. This was the star of lunch. The dough was fried perfectly, good crunch and texture and the chicken inside was juicy, flavorful and well spiced. There plenty on the plate and could have been a meal by themselves. The fish was disappointing. Although it was very fresh and it was flounder which surprised me as I thought it was ground up fish formed into a patty. The flavor was good but the texture I didn't find pleasant. Fish was very small flakes which might have which was what I didn't care for. Been a long time since I've had flounder. Also the coating was pretty thick, had to really work at it to get to the fish. The.fish came with a huge order of fries which could probably be cut in half and would still be plenty with the dish. Small containers of Coleslaw and tartar sauce were provided. Will return for the pot stickers for sure and maybe go back to having the rib steak sandwich has been good in the past. Nice stop for lunch if you're in Charlestown, just not if you're in a rush. It took about 35-40 minutes for our food to come out when we ordered and there weren't many people here. The sweet potato fries were phenomenal- totally recommend. The burger was good (random note but the cheese is thick- my friend liked that and I did not so do with that what you will). Yummy though! They have a cute outdoor area to sit if that's your vibe! Inside is a little dark but we sat by a window so we got some natural light. The AC was really nice though. We got the fish n chips n strips which I thought was a perfect idea because I can never decide. I shared with my husband and we still didn't finish. It was great. The clam strips were amazing. It seems like a local hangout. Ambience is nice enough (rustic, welcoming), but holy crap, is it loud inside. Like, we're talking louder than a strip club. You're shouting to talk to the person seated next to you, otherwise, they can't hear you. Service was excellent. Waitstaff is top notch. Our waitress (Lily, I believe it was?) knew exactly when to come around to ask if we needed anything. As for food, I had the seared tuna to start, and the fish and chips. The seared tuna was...ok. The sear was pretty much perfectly done. but to be honest, there wasn't much flavor in it. It had a drizzle of wasabi mayo on it, which was very light on the wasabi flavor, despite being almost neon green in color. But keep in mind, with the tuna having a very light flavor, the mayo's flavor shouldn't overpower it anyway. Onto the fish and chips. Honestly, the fish was nice. Breading on the fish was beautiful. Light, crispy, and airy. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite taste the type of fish under the breading (once again, very delicate flavors). It wasn't greasy, and it had a beautiful golden color to it. New place NEW town. We are spending the weekend in the area and we wanted to try this new place. I have to admit I wasn't pleased with the waiting time, 45 minutes its a little to long for anybody but OH BOY! It was worth the wait? YESSSS. Our waitress was so sweet and so helpful. And the food? We were looking for a place to go after the first day of the soccer tournament. This place was not too far so we decided to try it. It was busy so we had a 20 minute wait before being seated. It's a nice place, nicely done decorations. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Food ticket times were very good considering the amount of people there. The food was cooked well, just needed a pinch of salt here and there but overall a really good meal. If you are in the area, it is worth a visit. read more

My favorite local place for dinner at least once a week. Sandwichs are huge as order of fries. All the waitresses are so accomodating, making it a pleasure to eat there. Love having specials each day, wish thye would post on line, but it is always a surpirse when we get there. And some of the Friday desserts are Wonderful. We come down every year to stay at Charlestown and our first dinner is always at The Cove. We got there late and were worried about the kitchen pushing our food out so they could leave for the night but that didn't happen. Dinner did not disappoint! The calamari appetizer and chicken tenders were excellent. The fish,chips and strips were outstanding! Lightly battered, flaky,fresh and delicious! Four out of our party of six had that meal. The other two had the baked scallops and rib-eyed sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we were still talking about it the next day. Thank you so much for the delicious dinner and great service, Sunny you were awesome! So sorry to learn about the passing of one of the founders of The Cove. We were shocked when she wasn't there to greet us but even more shocked to learn the following day of her passing. She was so beautiful, friendly and always so gracious to us. I Called in an order of crispy potato skins and a small order of Buffalo wings to pick up. She told me ten minutes and when I arrived, my order was ready to go. The potato skins are crispy, crunchy, loaded with bacon and cheese and travel quite well. Have some extra sour cream ready at home because you'll def want extra. The wings are crispy, and coated with Buffalo but not saturated in sauce. I like to pop these in the toaster oven for 5min and they crisp right on up. They come with blue cheese and celery sticks. The menu has some pretty good options and is seafood focused, which was perfect for us. I had the flounder sandwich which was cooked perfectly and flavored nicely, but not overly powerful. It was topped with lettuce and ripe tomatoes. My wife had the Jambalaya which had a lot of fish and sausage. The chorizo was nicely spicy. The food is simple, stuffies, prime rib, coconut shrimp, lobster rolls, etc. All of it is very good and the atmosphere is perfect as a local staple should be.
