One of the staples of Lower Greenville, the corner market is one of my go to's for breakfast on the weekend. A deli on the corner of Greenville and McCommas, The Corner marker serves up some solid cold and hot sandwiches, with a mean breakfast too. My favorite is the breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, potatoes and cheese. I don't usually like my tacos/burritos with cheese but this is the one place I make an exception for. Get your food to go, sit inside or out. Pretty good coffee selection as well. Because it's a smaller space it does tend to get crowded at times, so if you're waiting for food it might take a little longer than expected, but that also speaks to their following. Stopped in to get a quick hunger fix. We ordered a BLT and split it along with a cup of tomato basil. It was the most disastrous BLT we have ever had. It leaked so much juice from the tomatoes and had so much mayonnaise on it that it drowned the damn thing. The guy behind the counter saw us grossing out over the mayo mess and trying to wipe some of it off, but, he didn't care. Worst BLT I've ever had. That $13 went into the trash. The tomato basil came out too hot. The few bites I had were pretty good, but, after dealing with that disgusting mess of a BLT disaster, I lost my appetite. This place seems to be popular with Yelpers. Maybe I went on a bad day or something? The guy behind the counter was friendly, but, I don't think he was really into customer satisfaction. A very nice lady from the bakery came by with free samples. We walked over there to see what all she had to offer. Healthy breads, cookies, cakes, trail mix. I didn't eat anything but my partner got him a dozen of chocolate chip cookies for like $15 or so. A little steep for my taste, but, if you're eating this kinda stuff always expect to pay more. There's something about this place that gives it its "homey" environment. Upon walking in, you are greeted by an aroma that's so welcoming you don't want to turn back. Seriously guys, this place smell nice. Not only that, the people behind the counter were just very personable in the way that you're getting treated by your next door neighbor. They were all genuinely kind. I didn't order much to be honest. I just stopped by before window shopping at Buffalo Exchange next door, haha. I ordered their caramel latte and my friend ordered the mango slush. It tasted very decent, indeed. I may add this place is much better than your typical coffee shop. The next time I'm in the area, I'm most definitely going to try their food and possibly check out their flowers. I just recently discovered this is also a floral shop! I've lived in this neighborhood for 35 years, and I went to Corner Market for the very first time tonight, with Jamie for a light dinner. We got the pastrami sammie (fundamentally a reuben) and a salad trio: Reuben was hand made with fresh ingredients, pretty well balanced with meat, bread, and kraut/cheese/dressing schmear. I would have preferred that it be served 100% hot (ours was lightly toasted and cool in the middle), with a higher moisture (cheese, kraut, and dressing schmear) content. Salad trio was also hand made and fresh (they grow most of their own veggies on the roof in season)- ours contained chicken pesto tortellini, dressed cherry tomatoes and mozzerella balls, and dressed fresh 'shrooms and herbs. The pesto was the best for us (five stars), with the others coming in just behind. There are about 10-12 choices, from very meaty to all veggie, and they all looked tasty. There is a cute little pricy florist and knick knack retail space in an adjoining room (just east of the dining area, just past the salads display case), which supplements the relaxed hippie vibe of the overall experience nicely. We'll likely return here from time to time, now that we've finally had our initial exposure. read more

I'm glad I recently discovered this market. My gf and I were looking for sandwiches nearby because of the poor weather conditions and stumbled upon Corner Market. The staff inside was very friendly and the sandwich selection was great. We ordered a couple sandwiches, tomato soup and some pastries. When we got out to my truck it wouldn't start because the battery was dead. We went back inside and asked if anyone could help us jump start our car. The staff was very kind and helped us jump start our car in 25 degree weather! When we finally got home to try the food, we were delightfully surprised how delicious it was and the tomato soup was still hot. We will definitely be coming back. This is a cute little place to take your dog out for lunch and relax a little bit. That is exactly what I did last Friday. Baby, my dog, likes to sit and watch cars drive by and I was hungry. We moved away over 3 years ago. We were in town visiting friends and stopped by Corner Market to see if it was still great place to grab a sandwich and a good side. Rest assured it is. We got the melrose chicken breast sandwich and a side of Mozzarella Madness (cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and yellow and red bell peppers). The sandwich was good as always and the side was very tasty. A great small neighborhood spot. Dallas is the land of look a like strip malls, urban sprawl, and virtually nothing of history or character. Corner Marker is one of just a few authentic neighborhood cafes in Dallas in a somewhat older/historic building. Parking was always hard to come by, especially now that more apartments have come in behind the building. I hope Corner Market can survive / evolve with the changing neighborhood. Dallas needs more unique neighborhood places like this, not less. read more

I was having a slow moment this morning and mistakenly thought the pitcher of half and half was empty when pouring it into my drip coffee. I figured the cashier could just top me off so I walked back, let them know the pitcher seemed empty, and asked if she had some half and half behind the counter that so i could get on my way. Sounding exasperated she rudely told me to grab the pitcher and bring it back, and once i did she then made me feel like total garbage when it turned out not to be empty after all. I wasnt rude to her and had even tipped her on my two dollar coffee (having worked in the service industry before i tip just about everywhere i go) so i have no idea why she was so hostile. Why people go out of their way to make others feel shitty is beyond me, and that kind of behavior especially has no place in a neighborhood business like Corner Market. The coffee itself was fine, but i doubt i'll ever go back. read more

This past Saturday was one of the rare ones that I'm left to my own devices and woke up early with tons of energy. I couldn't sleep in but always wake up hungry, so I put on running (walking) shorts and a sweatshirt, laced up my running shoes (rarely used) and set out the door with my headphones in.....for the 0.3 mile walk from my house. I drive by this place all the time and highly overestimated the distance. I ordered the Longview Lox Sandwich (I believe $7.95) and a 16 oz house coffee for right around $10. This seemed a little pricey to me for a breakfast sandwich...until i received it. It was served open face on rye bread with thinly sliced red onions, capers, cream cheese and mass amounts of salmon. I love open faced sandwiches in pretty much any shape or form, but this one was loaded down with yummy smoked salmon and I feel I could have been very satisfied with just one of the two halves. So if you have someone to split with, $4 for a good sized salmony, caper-y breakfast treat ain't so bad! The staff doesn't necessarily have a sense of urgency, but neither did I this fine morning. The girl behind the counter was awesome and I loved watching her just interact with the other staff and seemingly regular customers. Plus she offered everyone free refills on their way out, but 16 oz was plenty for me as I already talk way too fast without coffee. Will definitely be bee bopping back over sooner rather than later! Side note: they have a adorable little flower/gifts shop off the left side of the counter area and I inquired if they sold playing cards (off chance I know) as I needed some more decorative ones for a project. They didn't but the nice curly haired lady pointed me in the direction of a possible spot at the mall that might. read more

A great place to have lunch while walking around the Greenville area. They offer a satisfying assortment of beverages and, of course, coffee. On the menu they have a variety of sandwiches made fresh to order. In the case at the far end they have fresh tuna salad, various pasta salads, mixtures of fresh vegetables, and, most importantly, chocolates. On both my trips the staff have been courteous and eager to help. If you're needing something special don't hesitate to ask as they are ready to help in any way. Very enjoyable. As a big fan of the Society Bakery next door, I knew I would eventually be lured into the deliciousness of this place. Between various pasta salads, chicken salads and mountains of tortellini and lasagna, I settled on the Morning Side Chicken Salad sandwich. Large chunks of roasted chicken were mixed in with celery, red onions, cranberries and tiny, tiny slivers of almonds were "salad-ed" up for me on a chabata bun layered in a cranberry dressing sauce. I'm not going to lie, it was a little sweet and I wish I had realized I could have put other toppings like spinach and cucumber on the sandwich to balance the sweet out. But, all in all, it was pretty damn good. They had a coffee bar, full drink side (bottles of soda, tea, juice, etc.) and chocolate fancy treats in case you weren't in the mood for a cup cake. The place is rather small for how much people love it, so get there and score yourself a table early if you want to avoid missing out on a place to sit. Next time I go, I'm going to try the macaroni lasagna (a.k.a giant tower of mac and cheese). Mmm...cheesy! read more

Very nice spot on Greenville for coffee. They are connected to this lovely flower shop. In addition to coffee they offer sandwiches and deli salads breakfast before noon & brunch Saturday's and Sunday before noon. Price is fair environment is cute quiet on week days brunch was a little busier so naturally there was more noise from other people around. My first experience with a call in breakfast to pick up was not great but I've come in twice since and i forgot about it. Charming place definitely need to check it out if you live near by or want to come check out lower Greenville!! read more
