The salad stuff was fresh and the dressings were all good. On the hot side of the buffet they had chicken friend steak, ham, turkey and dressings, bbq brisket and friend chicken. Everything was excellent! The sides were all great. I imagine their homemade pies are amazing but I was too full to try any of them! I will 100% be back anytime I am nearby!!!

First, the service was excellent, I believe our server was named Presley. Very kind, always checking on us and keeping our water and tea full. On the buffet, my dad enjoyed the salad he had, but was surprised at the little variety offered that day. He said last time he was there with my brother there was more to choose from. He then got the fried chicken, which was greasy and barely any chicken on the thigh. I tried to find a drumstick but it was just breasts, thighs and a few wings. He did like the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. As for the fried okra, you have to eat it fresh. It is sitting under a heat lamp just makes it soggy and slimy. I ordered 4 vegetables a la carte which came out to be as much as the all you can eat buffet. First, their onion rings are OUTSTANDING! So is their homemade ranch. What was disappointing was the green beans, they definitely came out of a can and were heated. At $3.99 I expected fresh. There may have been a small piece of onion in it. Not sure if that was how it was cooked or if it fell in from another dish. The black-eyed peas were tasty. I also had a cup of the chicken corn chowder which was good. However, there was pieces of cubed chicken in it which also made me think that it was a prepackaged soup and not homemade. My dad got the coconut cream pie, which tasted good, but could have used more coconut then just on the top. He wanted bread pudding or peach cobbler, however at the time of day we were there, they had been picked over way too much, not leaving much for anyone else to enjoy. I did like the selections in the gift shop and purchased a tea towel before we left. I always like to try a place 3 times so I may stop in and try something else. Again, great customer service.

On a road trip heading up to Dallas, we made sure to make Collin Street Bakery a pit stop on our trip, and wow this place did not disappoint! They have lots of dine-in eating space, plenty of displays for you to look at the variety of food, a full fledged kitchen that you can have any kind of food to eat, a bunch of samples for you to try and especially the fruitcake! The staff are nice and friendly, I interacted with an employee on her first month at work, and she did a great job! When you go to the actual store, there have a huge variety of cookies and various treats, I've tried most of them and they are all delicious! I hate to say it, but I'm not the biggest fan of fruitcake, but having the samples are good enough for me when I stop by!

The cookie is also cute with the bright colors I adore so much. The staff was friendly and the place gave mom and pop shop vibes. They're famous for their fruit cake which was gifted to me - I could tell from the high quality packaging and taste this is no ordinary fruit cake. They did an amazing job (this is not sponsored )

We came in about 5:45 on Tuesday before New Years, and the place was basically bare. I was concerned. Went immediately to use the restroom, which was nostalgically decorated and clean as a whistle. The waitress was at the table taking to my husband when I got done, and my tea was already there, waiting for me, when I arrived. Now...the food: I got the chicken fried steak and hubby got fried catfish. Both were so clean and fresh I thought they'd been air fried! By the time the food arrived, dinner time must've hit, because as I write this from my table, the place is absolutely packed full of patrons. I didn't take a photo of my dinner, because I was busy enjoying it. However, I was able to get a quick snapshot of the husband's fish before he downed the last few bites. Seriously, this was the best southern comfort meal we've had in quite some time. We'll DEFINITELY make this a stop when we are passing through Hillsboro in the future! Seriously. Try them. You can thank me later, and ya might even run into Bubba while you're here!

We got that as appetizer, and they were fried well and tasteful. She ordered chicken fried steak, with fries and she said it was good, also broccoli, she said it was too smushy. I started my order by asking for the fried fish and shrimp, I was told that they don't have any fish, but they can add more shrimp. I decided to get the pork chop with side of squash and baked sweet potato. When waiter brought out our food, she said the sweet baked potato would take about 6 minutes or do I want another side. I said I will wait for it. We were almost done with our food, and I asked can I get the sweet potato to go, and she they forgot, and they can give me another side, I asked if I could get a side price removed. She asked her manager, and they honored it. I saw other guest getting the basked of rolls and I asked can we get some and is there extra charge. We got it with no charge, so I guess you have to ask for it. The pork chop was a bit too salty, and the squash was too sweet.
