Excellent service. Great coffee. Regular food. Transcending decor. Easy parking…read more Following my friend Dennis' recommendations, my wife and I drove to Baristopia to enjoy an afternoon coffee and snack. SERVICE What captivated me at first, beyond the super clean premises with everything neatly organized and accessible, was the friendliest service that included a smile from ear to ear and banter, something I haven't experienced in many months, maybe in a couple of years! To top it off, we didn't wait but 2 minutes after paying, and our entire order was ready! FOOD The espresso double shot was exceptionally delicious. Creamy, foamy, the right balance between sweetness and bitterness. We tried the Blueberry Hand-pie ($5) and it's, as you'd expect, sugary and crunchy, however is no match to the Date Sugar Scone ($4.75) which was highly recommend it, the best in our opinion! The Zucchini muffin ($4.75) is deceiving as it looks like chocolate but it tastes like you're eating healthy. It has little pieces of green something, to demonstrate that it's actually vegan, and probably made by vegans. And the label says that it's vegan. And did I mention that it's vegan?! The Mocha needed sugar to add up to the sugary chocolatey flavor of major coffee shops. Not really my favorite, but then again, I'm here to try real coffee as recommended by my friend Dennis! ENVIRONMENT Super clean and organized. They have an amazing music selection playing and one can bring their coffee home to make, as they have a good selection of whole bean coffee bags from around the world to choose from.

I was visiting…read morefrom LA and we have a few places that offer that but I absolutely love making my own spring rolls. Their parking lot is pretty small and holds about 5-7 cars. We got lucky and pulled into the last open spot. There were a good amount of people inside but we were seated right away. They have a little shop area in the front that was super cute too. Their menu is pretty large but in the best way. There's literally something for everyone from spring rolls to pho to banh mi. My friend and I each got our own DIY spring roll set and I got a cup of beef pho broth with an order of rice noodles to make a mini bowl of pho for myself on the side. The spring roll set comes with 4 sheets of rice paper, fresh veggies (lettuce, basil, cucumber, pickled carrots), rice noodles, your choice of protein (we chose pork sausage), and dipping sauce. The pho broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The spring rolls came out amazing and were so filling. My only suggestion would be to have the carrots shredded instead of sliced to get a more even distribution within the spring rolls. But overall it was a fantastic meal. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

We had such a delightful experience, I can't wait to plan a return visit to further explore the menu. Located on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy in a strip mall, the only downside about this location is parking. Mid-morning on a Friday is was pretty busy, so I imagine weekends can be even more problematic. We exited the parking lot several times, but eventually found a parking spot very close to the restaurant. We're exploring restaurants with gluten free options and we were very happy to discover Gigi's has plenty of offerings. They take extra precautions for those with allergies, using gloves and dedicated fryers. And the waitstaff are very receptive to questions about the menu, open to customizations if need be. Our waitress was absolutely delightful; lively and personable, and always nearby. We ordered the chicken and waffles, which were crispy, juicy and oh, so flavorful! It didn't matter they were gluten free, they were by far the best chicken and waffles I've ever ordered! My iced mocha was a little pricey, for the size, and lacked flavor. However, my husband's latte was absolutely delicious. Go figure! Overall, I'm very happy with our first visit to Gigi's - and you can bet we'll be returning sometime soon!

They are centered around southern/seafood style menu. Their lobster roll is incredible, the oysters are always a treat, and the shrimp and grits are our go to! Their Bloody Marys come loaded and they have rotating coffee specials. You can even just pop in and grab a coffee to go like a neighborhood coffee shop! When I lived in SE, I came here at least once a month. Be sure to schedule a nap after your meal cause you're going to be so food happy it'll put you in a coma ;)

I waited a couple weeks to write this review so I could be fair about my experience. The bottom…read moreline is that I would rate their food as a six, and my service a one after being blown off by not one, but two employees. The whole experience just was a major turn off. Had a rough start. Walked in to the side of the restaurant where you can't see that it's an order first, then sit down place. A staff member, who we later learned was the chef, waved his arm in the general direction of the restaurant and said "We'll get you a......" and then trailed off as he saw a friend, made a beeline over to him, gave the guy a big hug, and then proceeded to completely forget that we exist and have a lengthy conversation. So now we're standing partly in the restaurant with no idea as to where we should be. So awkward. I almost turned around and left, but finally a waiter directed us to a seat and said he'd bring menus by so we sat awkwardly until we realized we would have to go up and order. He never did return with those menus. Although the food was delicious, the whole experience left me with a terrible taste in my mouth. To be treated like an inconvenience by the chef himself is beyond insulting. He sat for the entirety of our meal at his special table, entertaining people and greeting those that came by to grace him. The whole thing just was elitist, awkward, and frankly, rude. The quality of the food is still not enough to bring me back based on that kind of experience.
