Man, I did not enjoy this place. I was in Long Beach on business today and decided to stop for lunch, and I figured I could probably find steamer clams. I looked on Yelp for a well ranked seafood restaurant, and this place gets 4 1/2 stars and had steamers shown on the menu on the website so I decided to try it. I get there and it looks nice, nice big windows and views, well decorated inside with nice wooden tables. No steamer clams on the menu though, so I ordered the seared ahi tuna with sesame seeds and a salad. That was $16 and my drink was another $3.50. The tuna was done really fast, like they wouldn't have had enough time to cook it. It was also a little colder than room temperature. It looked and tasted like they had precooked it and thawed it out without actually searing it before putting it on the plate with some salad. It tasted reasonably ok, but the texture was weird - pretty sure they precook these and freeze them and just barely heat them up before you get it. If I'd paid like $8.00 for it I might not have been so annoyed. Then some regulars came in and I watched my server chat with them for ten minutes while I waited for my check. Finally I had to just go up to the counter and ask for my bill. I just hope the iffy tuna doesn't give me food poisoning. What a let down for $25 (after the tip). read more

Will never ever ever eat there again. Even if I'm starving to death. Street taco special $10 Decided to order two of them, they asked meat, chicken or seafood. Went with the beef. Chips, salsa, guacamole? Sure, why not. The bill comes to almost $60 Spoke with the owner who advised me that he will make sure his staff let the customers know that every single added item comes with cost. WTF? So what is so special for $10? Guess what, it is a tortilla with salad mix plain with nothing!! Hahahaha What a joke, huh? Paid the $60 and moved on. So on 12/28/2020 Called in an order of fish and chips. Server asked if I would like 1,2,3 or 4 pieces and then silence after that until I ask how much, then she stated 1 piece for 11.50 with $2 for each extra piece. Order came to the table in a pool of grease, No I had to order more napkins to soak the oil. Nasty! Even my friend who is local said that she never ate in a place where she felt like she need to take a shower after eating. I spent my afternoon with heartburn and bathroom runs. Asked owner Doug to call me. then there goes nothing. Nice staff, Nice location, inconsistent service. So... If you like golf and eating terrible food that is over priced, have at it!!!! Owner need to grow some His response when I called him about the fish was, I'm sorry Monday is usually a bad day for us. Seriously? Your bad day doesn't have to define mine. You might as well just put a sign out there saying that Monday is a bad day, Bad food. What a joke. read more

Really? When we made a reservation, hostess mentioned that this restaurant was the BEST. No, not the best, but not the worst either. Unless your the kind of person who doesn't mind their dining experience to be in a room that is acoustically below average, meaning like eating in Grand Central Station....couldn't hear a word my partner was saying. Not to mention that the evening we dined, BOTH and the ONLY rest rooms they had available were out of order. Then the meal itself, kind of average to be honest, certainly not the best. Forget it. Better off dining at the DEPOT a few minutes away. Better food, ambiance, visually more appealing. read more

Good food at a golf course restaurant. My wife and I sat outside in the patio and had our dog with us. The servers were very friendly and loved our dog! Food was fine. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the prime rib. Delicious, but not exceptional. Very nice ambiance sitting outside on a summer evening looking out over the golf course. My friend and I ordered the Scallops and Halibut and received only TWO scallops. I guess that's grammatically correct, in that any fewer they would have had to advertise it as Scallop and Halibut. Very disappointed. The food was good, however, especially the greens. But they could have thrown in another scallop or two, especially for the price. Very disappointed. We are big fans of the Depot and SaltWater in town and thought we would try this place as it's reviews were good. We went for prime rib night, at 7pm with a reservation. We were told they only had one peice left and it was an end peice but we were assured it was pink and still fine. It was cold, extremely dry and tough to cut. I also ordered a Moscow Mule to drink. The waitress acted as if I was speaking gibberish but said she would ask the bartender. She came back with honestly I don't know what, but it certainly wasn't a Moscow mule. I didn't want to make a fuss so we just kept it. On the receipt we we're charged for a cosmopolitan. Good Lord. My boyfriend's burger was good and we both enjoyed the creme brulee, just a shame that I paid 37 dollars for a drink and entree I hated. read more

I was a little hesitant at first with this place, but all my tensions were eased with the food. We did coconut prawns and chicken sliders for our appetizer. They were amazing!! Then our main courses, we all got something different and each of us loved it. The sandwiches were grilled to perfection. The sauces went perfect with the meal. Everything about it was spectacular. We came to the cove in the evening and totally unprepared- we didn't have a reservation looking like two tourists and they totally accommodated us! The food was amazing as were the staff. We had the Ruben and The Cove burger. The burger was one of the best I've had in a long time and the riven had the perfect amount of meat to cheese to sauce ratio and the sauerkraut was AMAZING! read more

This place has the BEST prime rib. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very pleasant although a bit noisy just because of the acoustics inside. I think this is one of the best places for a nice meal on the peninsula. We look forward to going back! read more

What a gem in Long Beach! I have driven by it many times on our visits to Long Beach but decided to try it out. It's small and a bit noisy but the food made up for it. We were able to make a reservation and eat inside on a less than sunny evening. The food was outstanding. We shared the fried artichoke appetizer. Carmine was awesome as our waitstaff! Funny, attentive and genuine! The food was very good. I had the Captains platter and they were able to saute instead of fry everything but the calamari. Run don't walk to this gem of a restaurant. We've been here at least 4 times with family and friends. Today was no exception, the food & service were exceptional. I ordered the half sandwich & salad option - the turkey is fresh roasted and thickly sliced, the lettuce & thickly sliced tomato were fresh and the marbled rye (option) bread was also fresh baked. The mixed green salad was filled with bell peppers, cherry tomatoes and homemade croutons. My wife ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad - the chicken was perfectly grilled and the lettuce was clean, crisp and very fresh. Our server was professional, efficient and friendly. The view from the restaurant is of the gorgeous golf course - gorgeous! We will be returning again soon. read more

I went in for breakfast, since the place came up on a search for breakfast places- but there really wasn't breakfast on the menu. Maybe they do more on weekends? I had a BLT and coffee, it was all just fine, nothing exemplary. I was just disappointed to not find breakfast at a "breakfast joint." My wife and I decided to stop in at this small restaurant as we were exploring the Long Beach Peninsula - WOW, what a treat. First off - wonderful, comfortable atmosphere and they had the small fire going near our table. I ordered the sandwich "special of the day", a fantastic sliced bbq beef on a soft roll, and the seasoned fries are to die for. My better half ordered a french dip roast beef sandwich and it was equally delicious! The next day we were still talking about The Cove and how great the food was. So... as we were driving around on Day 3, we decided we just had to return to The Cove for another lunch - once again, food was prepared so well! We would strongly recommend The Cove as a wonderful lunch stop during your visit to Long Beach! read more

Incredible pickles, even better burgers, vegan burger makes me want to come back again next time I'm in Long Beach! They even traded out my fries for a side salad with no additional cost and let me tell you--that side salad slapped. Also super prompt service! I took my wife to Long Beach for an overnight getaway because it's her birthday. Well, the new tradition is that my wife gets to have lobster for dinner on her birthday and we thought that a beach resort town with more than a couple seafood restaurants would have some really good lobster. WRONG! None of the places we tried had lobster so I jumped on Yelp and searched (Find Lobster Near Long Beach WA) The first place on the list was The Cove at Peninsula Golf course. I picked up my phone and gave them a call and a very energetic sounding man answered. I asked him if they served lobster and his reply was yes. I then asked about the dress code and if I should make a reservation and he replied yes to that as well. He transferred me to the restaurant and I made a reservation. This all led me to think that this was going to be an amazing place if you have to have a reservation to get a seat. We got there around 20 minutes early and the hostess sat us right away. The only table left in the dining room so I guess it had to be ours because she didn't even look up our reservation. Anyhow, from that point on, things went south. When the hostess sat us, she didn't provide us with menus and so we sat. We sat there and watched the waitress and the hostess walk by our table multiple times without acknowledging that we even existed. I joked that maybe we couldn't get service until our actual reservation time of 7:00. Eventually around 20 minutes or so, some water and menus were brought out to us. The hostess was also our waitress and she started to tell us about the specials and how they were out of the salmon etc... and by now, my wife and I had both noticed that there was no lobster on the menu so I asked our server. I said that I had called the establishment prior to making the reservation and that I had specifically asked if they served lobster. I told her that I was assured that yes they did but she informed us that over the last 4 years that she has been working there, there has not been one night where lobster was served. She was very concerned with our problem and apologized. She even gave me my beer on the house and said that she would understand if we decided not to stay. We thought it over and decided to stick around so we got busy reading our menus to see what we would have. To start, we shared their Caesar salad witch was very good and we also had the deep fried artichoke appetizer that comes with fried shoestring sweet potato fries and a delicious creole mayo. For our main course, we both ordered the Hole in One burger. Pressed ground chuck and thick cut pepper bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion with roasted garlic mayo on a butter brioche bun. Served with a pickle wedge and crispy french fries. These were delicious. Cooked to order and just like we asked for them. Then, because it was my wife's birthday, they gave her a complimentary dessert. A molten chocolate cake at that. We left satisfied and I would recommend The Cove as a nice place for good food. read more

Wife and I went for lunch a couple days ago. Both of us picked the two daily specials. I had the turkey bacon avocado wrap with fries and the wife had the prime rib dip with fries. Both were great and had their own special flavor which stood out from other places serving similar foods. I've ate. We both enjoyed the company of the waitress as well. I live nearby and had been driving by this place for years and never stopped by. A coastie buddy said it was great, so I decided to give it a shot. Great food, service and pretty good ambiance for a golf course restaurant. I have eaten here 4-5 times and it has been consistently good. Last night was our first time visiting the cove. Drinks were good and very reasonably prices ($4/pint) for draft local craft beer/hard cider. Dinner tasted great, I had the prawn scampi and my goodness it was delicious! Garlic and lemon flavors over a bed of pasta. I only wished that dinner came with a cup of soup or side salad. Its harder than it should be to get good food on the Peninsula. As part time residents, we feel this lack keenly. The Cove not only serves great food with more imagination than most of the restaurants here but they are willing to provide vegetarian and other options. We had seared ahi tuna, Caesar salad, and fish and chips. All were well prepared and portions were dinner sized. The sriracha (?) element in the cole slaw was tasty and unexpected. They have a good selection of wine and beer and a small bar area. The place was empty when we were there and it does need better signage to see it from the road. Do not fear the emptiness...they haven't been appreciated yet but are working hard to provide decent food. A great dining experience and recommended. We are looking forward to trying them for lunch. read more

This was a very pleasant surprise and wow, what a place. Serving fresh vegetables from local farms that are so terrific and very well prepared. Had a large party of 8 and the staff was pleasantly accommodating and welcomed us warmly. The staff was very attentive, and had a great sense of humor. The meal sizes were very large and absolutely delicious. The prime rib was excellently prepared and fork tender. The elk meatball dish was even large enough that it couldn't be finished by our largest eater. The halibut and chips were fantastic and the kids chicken tenders and fries were fork tender and delicious. Great selection of beers, and the prices are very reasonable. We would give it 10 stars if we could. Don't waste your time anywhere else, just head to the golf course for the best meal and value in town. read more
