Best meal I've had in a long time! This place honestly provides more of an "eating experience" than a meal. It's an old-fashioned crab/crayfish boil type place. You order everything by the pound, pick a sauce and a spice level. Then they bring you plastic bibs (don't wear white!), crackers, and all of your food in a plastic bag, shells on and covered in sauce, and let you have at it! We had crab legs, crayfish, and clams, with some sausage and corn thrown in for good measure. By the end of the meal (which took a while--fighting with crab shells is no joke) I was covered in sauce, completely stuffed, and absurdly happy. Also the fact that they are BYOB really keeps the price down! Three people family style, with 20% tip, for just over $80. I will definitely be back! read more

Crab Pad has awesome food, great service, great vibes, and good location. Dungeness crab was on point. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. I recommend the Crab Pad Style seasoning. Medium has heat. If you like heat but can't handle too much, I would recommend asking for mild/medium. Added green beens to the mix which soaked up the sauce. Not honest or fair! My son loves crawfish so when we saw that they had an all you can eat Sunday special for $30 we were very excited. I called twice on two different days. First to find out the hours for this event and if they were fresh or frozen and again to find out if he could change the flavors each time he wanted more. Well we drove down from the Northern suburbs, waited 10 minutes for them to clean a table to be seated in a smokey filled, cold and quite honestly, not a very exciting place, looked over the menu and specials for another 5 minutes, and then be told that EVERYONE had to pay for the crawfish at $30 each and that the ONLY flavor was the crabpad style. It was a rough beginning at the Crab Pad. We were a large group but over half of us was present and we still weren't able to sit. Our waitress was honest and told us that the crawfish was in fact frozen when we asked and results were what was expected. The king crab was great, as well as the head on shrimp. I feel like the shrimp was cooked to perfection, our favorite out of all the things really. Lobster tail was Nothing special, I feel like the sauce could have made it better but it wasn't that flavorful to begin with, it was actually really oily and I felt like it was lacking garlic and flavor. we went to the crab pad and did eat there once before. food is very good, but the ambience is awful. the loud talking and the echo in the room made it so uncomfortable we got our food to go. the noise level is off the charts, I don't know if its the ceiling or the layout of the room, but it is awful to the point it is uncomfortable, other than that the food is so good, but the place is a headache away. The sound is so loud you can hardly hear the waitress. the talking is amplified for some reason. I would only get the food to go and not dine there. not to mention the ventilation is sparse. there is not air, together with loud talking in every direction it too unpleasant. Went in here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was lack luster in appearance. We ordered snow crab. I had the everything spice and the hottest level of heat along with corn, fried shrimp and garlic fries. Ummmm. Meh. Crab legs weren't piping hot as I'm accustomed to in heat or flavor. Corn. Well it was corn. Fried shrimp the first batch one of the shrimp was raw. Sent it back. I will say the breading to shrimp ratio is pretty nice on these shrimp.
