This is most certainly a place to grab a growler and go. I really, really, REALLY wanted to enjoy this place, but just couldn't. The ciders I sampled were all really delicious, the bar was nice to sit at and get some work done... but unfortunately my service was AWFUL. I was by myself, on a semi-busy Saturday night, the man who took my drink order never came back to see if I wanted to order anything else. I had to flag someone else down to order something to snack on while I worked. I asked one waitress to close out my tab and she said "I'll be right back with your check" annnnnnd no surprise she never came back. I asked someone else to close it and it easily took her over 15 mins to bring it back, keep in mind- sitting at the bar, you can see all the servers standing around, on their phones, chit chatting with other servers, etc. After checking out the website this morning, I realize now the owner was sitting across the bar from me. It's extremely unfortunate that he doesn't care that the service was as bad as it was.. And from the other reviews, I'm not the only one that has had this experience here. read more

Ciders!!! Finally a place with more cider options! The Craft Room had 8 different ciders on tap and they were all really tasty! A friend and I shared 2 flights (each comes with 4 small glasses of anything of your choice) and chose all 8 ciders to try. Definitely try their ciders, they are delicious! What can is say, the best ciders in the Albuquerque area! For those who dont care about ciders, they have beer from Desert Valley Brewery, all brewed in house! I really do want to enjoy this place so badly because I enjoy ciders. But here's the issue, the food--short of the Hummus--was all boring and prepared poorly. Imagine what you would make in your college dorm room. But aside from the below par food, they seem to love obnoxious noise levels and really have a distaste for anyone trying to have a conversation in their establishment. The first time I went there was a horrible DJ blasting music for almost or entire experience. The inside seating was almost completely open because no one seemed to want to blow their eardrums out. Hence why the patio had the lion's share of the patrons packed onto it in hopes that it was quiet enough outside the front door to even have a conversation. The second time they had geeks who drink--which I know has a following of people who enjoy it-- but same situation, nobody in the bar was able to have an actual conversation. They're certainly alienating myself and anyone I know from going there with the intention of having any type of conversation. I probably won't try it again, La Cumbre is relatively close and I've never seen them try all these ridiculous antics to rally up business. Just serve decent beers and let people hang out without being shushed by trivia patrons or blasted with god awfully loud garbage music. read more

I had wanted to come to the craft room for a long time and I was very excited when a friend that loves ciders came into town. It was finally The perfect opportunity to make my debut. The cider and beer were both delicious. I tried the Honey IPA and I found it to be tasty and went well with the craft 505 pizza that I had. I also tried the lemon mango cider and it was very good but too sweet for a full size. I found the food to be kinda basic for the prices that they charged. The bar stools we're was so uncomfortable that I kept having to stand up to give my butt a break. I think if I come back here it will be for a growler fill only. read more

Update: they have their own beers on tap now (that aren't ciders) which are good, and they make their own pizza dough in-house. I would honestly go back (on a Wednesday again, less people) for the pizza and a beer, can't go wrong. The pepperoni AND the BBQ chicken pizza did not disappoint. I was quite disappointed by this place. While the few different beers I tried weren't too bad the service was awful. One bartender was knowledgeable and cool at first but the others? I felt like I was a burden to these ladies. There's not much to say about ambiance. It's as plain and dull as you can get. The food was just shy of awful. I tried ordering a few things and was told they were out of them. The pizza tasted like an undercooked frozen pizza from the grocery store. However, they did load on the green chile. Finally, I hope you don't mind leaving there smelling like grease. Apparently there is no ventilation in the kitchen. I really don't like to do negative reviews but with the large number of great breweries and tap rooms, this place has some work to do especially as they transition to Desert Valley Brewing. Stopped in for lunch the other day this establishment is looked very close to my work. It was somewhat busy which makes me believe they have a pretty good local following. I ordered the Burque Turkey and I was not disappointed, there was plenty of meat and green chile. I did not get a chance to try their Ciders or Beer but they had a pretty good list there are definitely ones on the list I want to try. I am always impressed that each time I go to the craftroom they have made changes to improve their brews and their food. The pizza has improved significantly since the first time I tried it and had amazing gooey cheese like I'd expect at an actual pizza place. The craftroom brews well balanced beers and several varieties of ciders. My biggest complaints for them are that the space itself is very noisy when filled, causing me to shout to be heard across the table, and that their ciders are mostly sweet. But as the sweet ciders is a personal preference I didn't take of stars for that. Besides the noise level it can be a little difficult to get service even when empty, so I'd suggest always going up to the bar to order. read more

Anybody remember Hallenbrick? One of the first wave of local tap room/microbreweries in what's become a tsunami, they set up shop in an awkwardly located industrial park and had an instant following. The friendly service, funky couch, pinball machine, and likelihood that the owner might try to feed you crock pot hot dogs were just a few of the reasons that place had a friendly, neighborhood feel despite its geographic challenges. The Craftroom ain't no Hallenbrick. While they share a few similarities to that long-lost gem(small space, industrial park address), boast a tremendous selection of (somewhat off-tasting) house-made ciders, and a decent amount of in-house beers and guest pours, that's where the similarities end. The Craftroom's deja-vu industrial decor is just too similar to the glut of loud, hard-surface tap rooms around town to really set itself apart, and each of our visits has involved an extensive wait to get noticed, served and tabbed out. The location is convenient for local businesses, and we've noticed lots of after-work happy hour groups. The A/C and venting issues need to be addressed quickly, especially in blistering summer months. With any luck, the steady stream of hyper-local clientele will give the Craftroom an opportunity to polish the rough edges on their brews and space, and determine their identity. I'm not sayin' crock pot hot dogs are the answer, but a little personality goes a long way. read more

I went here for my birthday and I have to say I am extremely disappointed in the customer service my friends and I received. It was terrible. It took a whole hour and a half to receive our pizza and the server was rude the entire time. She didn't know anything about our order and didn't check on what the status of our order was. They did offer us free beer but they never followed through and no server ever helped for the remainder of our time there. I will not be returning for any more events and I am disappointed I wasted my birthday on this place. Please be aware of their customer service. read more

This is a really great place to hangout and have a chill time! The beers are super yummy and flavorful especially if your not into really hard IPAs and like fruitier flavored beers this is the place to come! I tried the honey mango, lemon honey, peach, pineapple and strawberry beers and they were all delicious! If you like sweetier alcohol beverages you don't even notice your drinking alcohol! If you're looking for some great ciders, this is the place! Don't go expecting good food because it's less than average. We had a table of 8 and ordered tacos, pizza, turkey sandwich, unlimited chips, queso, and salsa. We also ordered a couple of pretzels too! The street tacos weren't cooked fresh, the meat was tough and very sparse. The corn tortilla was served right out of the package with no prepping! I had the Craftroom before going to the Albuquerque airport. I was really excited because I am a bit of a cider connoisseur and it's rare you can find a full flight of just ciders. I tried the Big Razz and the Sandia, which were alright and then the Dry Cider and the cranberry, which I was not impressed with. I suppose it depends on what your preferences are in cider but I like more dry ciders and these were very thick, much like the consistency of an IPA. The fruit flavors were very subtle. I spoke to the Brewmaster, unknowingly, and he was very eager to improve his ciders. Worth a stop if you are open to untraditional ciders. read more

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is a "family" friendly establishment. The menu has several options from appetizers, sandwiches, and pizza. We go the limitless chips with salsa and queso. Salsa had nice heat and was flavorful. The beverages: Cerveza is comparable to a Mexican style beer, light and nice. The Blonde has the right amount of bitterness and was very enjoyable. Ciders seem to be their forte. Several to select from and the Sandia (watermelon) was great and the one with honey was very different and not too sweet. The server was really encouraging patrons to sample the ciders in the flights! This was my first go with ciders so my descriptions are novice. Everyone seemed knowledgeable about the products the only downfall was the server indicated they were switching distributors so....no wine selection for our non-beer/cider friends!
