I recommend the Mac and cheese (any of the 3 varieties, we tried them all) the salads (we were surprised too!) the tomato basil soup, and the grilled cheese plain. We tried the short rib and it was ok, not great. I wasn't mad at it, it needs the au-jus to make a great bite. I had the kids meal with mac n cheese and side of chicken noodle soup. Like as in some of the other reviews, there is a gritty texture but it wasn't too bad overall. It was time for lunch on a road trip and The Creamery is in the perfect location. We arrived at lunch time and saw how full the parking lot was. The bread was soft and the sandwich was very tasty. I ordered the Turkey Pesto with the Tomato Soup. The turkey was tender with plenty of spinach, but the pesto was lacking in flavor. The Creamery was an unexpected delight en route back to Vegas from our excursion to the Utah national parks. The small hamlet of Beaver didn't seem to have much else to recommend itself, based on my observations during our drive through most of the town. Although The Creamery is right beside the highway, there doesn't appear to be an obvious route to get there without navigating several back roads. That said, the detour was totally worthwhile. This new-ish facility boasts three main sections: a restaurant, a shop, and an ice creamery--none of which should be missed. We lucked out on our timing to dine at the restaurant. Shortly after we sat down to eat--just prior to noon--patrons swarmed in and the queue wrapped well beyond the stanchions. The joint is set up fast food-style, with counter ordering and pickup, but the quality of the cuisine belies its casual nature. Don't sleep on the braised short rib grilled cheese sandwich served with a side of dipping jus. The atrium hosts a cornucopia of local artisan fare. Pick up anything and everything you could possible want to prepare the charcuterie plate of your most decadent dreams--including the serving tray itself. Meats, cheeses, crackers, and spreads galore... if I hadn't been hopping on a flight home so soon, I'd have burned a hole through my wallet here. Last, but not least, step through an enormous barn door to the ice cream shop. I figured it might be just a tourist trap, but boy was I put in my place. These dairy products are no joke; the last time I remember being this wowed by frozen confections was during a visit to Penn State's homonymous Creamery. My single scoop of Jolted Cow was more than generous and had me moo-oaning in pleasure until the last bite. Clearly, The Creamery has some measure of renown, as evidenced by the lunchtime crowds and the lengthy story shared by one of the cashiers while she rang up my purchase of a bag of elevated trail mix. As she relayed to me: she used to work at the local library and, routinely, visitors would stop by exclusively to ask for directions to The Creamery. In fact, one such not-patron explained they'd driven from Pennsylvania and that a friend had advised them to make sure to stop by if they were ever passing through Utah.
