My partner and I came to this hidden jem for breakfast. The Hostess was nice and even though they were busy, we were seated fairly quickly. The restaurant is rectangular shape and has a nice feel to it. Long and narrow. Our Server was very nice and friendly. We were addressed immediately and ordered coffee. The coffee was fresh. They also had a stellar Coffee Creamer selection. I chose the Mexican Skillet for my Entree and it tasted great. Over Medium Eggs and Hashbrowns cooked to perfection. I kept hearing about people talking about "The Breakfast Company" since moving to Indiana. I finally got the opportunity to go and my mind is blown. I was indecisive on what to order but thanks to their extremely friendly staff my decision was easy. The farmers omelet was easily the best I have had in my life as cliche as it sounds. The hash browns were not burnt and not too soft either while maintaining that amazing golden brown color. The pair was filling enough I could only get a few bites of pancake in but I couldn't hardly stop. They said it was still cooking. So we waited until it came out by then her eggs were rubber. And the smoke sausage was burnt. We said something to the waitress. She said there's no manager on duty and all she could do is give us 10%off. But when we checked out nothing was done to our bill. Unfortunately we will not be coming back. I've been coming here a few times a month since I moved to crawfordsville two years ago. Service is always great and food has always been hot and fresh. You know a restaurant is great when they're consistently full each weekend. If you decide to go, prime time is Saturday mornings and Sunday mornings so plan accordingly if you're in a hurry. I decided to try someplace different for breakfast while in Crawfordsville. So, I chose this shop in the strip mall near the Kroger on the south side of the city. Lots of free parking here. Inside, there is a waiting area with seating for customers to relax until they are escorted to their tables. I was by myself and so I was able to grab a spot at the counter right away. Over the course of the dining experience, I had three different staff wait on me, though that didn't necessarily mean any of the three was focused on me. I ordered a cup of coffee and the Eggs Benedict which comes with a side of hash browns. The coffee was really good (immediately drinkable) and the hash browns were crisped on the outside and generously portioned. The Benedict had a bunch of execution problems and none of the wait staff asked how I liked them until I was paying at the register. Although the Benedict had the basics, this one lacked the specifics that make it my favorite breakfast selection. First, the English muffin halves were not crisped. Just a little doughy. The Canadian Bacon (ham) was good and covered the muffin. But the eggs, which are poached, where over cooked and solid. I like being able to break the yolk and have the yolk flow onto the hash browns which is one of my favorite flavor combinations ever. And the Hollandaise sauce was thick and stayed on the muffin. Again, it mixes great with the hash browns when a little more fluid. So, the unseasoned hash browns had no flavors from the kitchen to enhance them. I don't put ketchup on my hash browns though they did have a bottle handy. After several staff behind the counter avoided eye contact to see if I needed anything or where engaged in non-work related conversations with lone customers, I finally got a to go box for the uneaten portion of my hash browns. For as many staff as were working, I would have expected someone to be able to keep an eye on my order and service. The tag team service made it confusing to know who to ask for assistance since it was rarely attended as a course of action. The food was ok, and the service was ok. I guess my rating will be ok. This place was interesting. They were super busy but it seems like most breakfast restaurants are. Normal breakfast fare. Nothing that really stands out or that I'd recommend. But, do not go there if you want to talk during your meal. It's just not going to happen. Between the music (heavy bass) and everything going on in there, you cannot hear. It's loud. I don't know if they need to add insulation or what but dang. The other oddity is that if someone drops something, anything, the entire restaurant claps. It must be their thing. But it's embarrassing as hell. It doesn't matter your age or what you dropped. They all start clapping. Saw a poor little girl cry. You've been warned. read more

I'm leaving my review as five stars, but I have to comment on our visit today, which was disappointing. For the first time, we had really poor service. Our server, I didn't get his name, seemed attentive when he took our order. However, when our breakfast came to the table, it was obvious he had not written our order correctly. My bacon, which I had asked to be cooked crisp, was nowhere near crisp. That's never happened at the Breakfast Company before. He never brought the Tabasco sauce we had asked for when we ordered, I had to get another server to bring it. Then he came by and slapped the check on our table, but we still hadn't received our order of french toast and we never got a coffee refill. Normally the staff comes by at least once to refill the coffee. I was really unhappy that he slapped the check on our table without bringing us all of our order. I told him we had not yet received all of our food. I complained to the cashier about him when I paid the bill (and yes, we still gave him a 20% tip), but I am not sure if management actually found out about it. That's why I am updating my review. I hope management reads this and speaks to the server. If I was a new customer, I would think twice about returning. As a long-time customer, I know that this kind of poor service is rare at Breakfast Company. I believe his initials (I saw them on our check) are DW. Not only is the food made to order from scratch, the staff is always very polite, attentive and helpful. Our group ordered a variety of food. My fiancé ordered the boss skillet and the eggs were over salted, the hash browns were undercooked and even with green pepper in the dish, it was flavorless. It was extremely under seasoned (aside from the eggs.) Those eggs were like an assault on your mouth. The decor was all grey and uninviting, and the floors and rugs were dirty. We finally made it to the breakfast company and after all of the hype from friends and family, expectations were high. The restaurant is a basic diner style layout with tables, booths and bar seating and most of the seats have a view of the kitchen in a true diner style format. We were quickly greeted and seated by what turned out to be an exceptional staff. The service was quick and courteous but not intrusive. We both ordered coffee and we were never left with less than half a cup as it seemed anyone carrying a pot of coffee was interested in making sure we had full cups. The menu was what you would expect for a breakfast spot from pancakes to French toast, eggs to biscuits and gravy. A few surprises for me were the inclusion of crepes and less traditional dishes like eggs Benedict. Eggs Benedict is one of my favorite breakfast go-to's if it's made right so I had to give it a try. We also ordered the French toast. Our coffee was quick, as it should be. Our food was astonishingly fast. Eggs Benedict is made with poached eggs which takes time and French toast isn't typically instant unless it's pre-made. We hadn't quite settled into our seats and begun conversation and our breakfast was in front of us. The portions were good sized. We didn't leave hungry but we also had cleaned our plates. The French toast was decent and the sides had good flavor and tasted/appeared fresh. The eggs Benedict was a bit of a disappointment. The flavor was ok but the hollandaise sauce was lacking. A good sauce, in my view, has a bit of a zing to it. The sauce on my eggs was fairly bland and thin. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't up to standards for my taste so I still don't have a great place nearby to get my favorite breakfast dish. The price point was pretty competitive for breakfast food which, in my experience, is generally a far cheaper meal than any other of the day. The total bill for the two of us was just over $20 not including tip. Overall our first experience at the Breakfast Co was a positive one and I look forward to stopping in again and trying something else from their large selection of breakfast dishes. read more

After being highly recommended by locals since we were in town for an event, we decided to stop midmorning on a Monday before leaving town. We were seated immediately although the table hadn't been cleaned. The hostess quickly cleaned it though. The waitress showed up promptly and gave us her spiel about all they have to offer. They did have an extensive menu. The waitress took our order and I admittedly asked for my eggs to be on the side rather than on my sandwich. The waitress even made a big deal of showing us how she highlighted this for the kitchen. My husband ordered pancakes & sausage so nothing complicated for him. The food arrived very quickly which should have been the giveaway that the experience was about to go downhill quickly. As the waitress put my food down, she said oh I see that they didn't do yours right even though I highlighted it for them. Indeed my egg was on my sandwich with the cheese on the egg which is exactly what why I had requested the egg on the side. No offer to take it back just handed my husband his breakfast which although correct must have been made earlier in the day as the butter didn't melt at all on the pancakes since they weren't even warm and they were hard. Our waitress decided to not check back until she dropped off the check which was fine as we don't send food back anyway out of concern for what happens to it before being returned. We definitely won't be returning on our next trip into town as we would prefer a fast food option. read more

My husband had about 4 or 5 bites left on the omelet when he hit an eggshell. It was easy to see and the waitress told her supervisor about. The supervisor told us that her boss had told her to not take money off for food. They all are human and make mistakes. I trust the restaurants we eat at to be safe like I am at home. She offered making a one egg omelot. He was over the omelot and said no. She reiterated she can not take money off for eggshell. We sure didn't bring the egg chip to get a free meal. Our bill was $25.00 and change, we gave the last we will give to this store. Hope you do not get the egg shell. read more

Tried this for breakfast a few weeks ago. Appeared to be a clean, new restaurant. We were sat almost immediately after entering. Husband ordered the biscuits & gravy, I ordered pancakes and bacon. Husband had to wait awhile for waitress to come back to the table and sent back his soft drink bc of the carbonation. Average wait time for order. Food arrived and my pancakes were stone cold. Finally flagged down the waitress and asked if she could warm these up or make new ones. Waited, waited, waited, & waited. Flagged down the waitress again and asked if the pancakes were ready. She had totally forgotten. How do you forget about pancakes that have been sitting in a microwave? Did not taste very good after sitting and we're just warm. Nobody wants to pay for nuked pancakes. When you can't get pancakes right, who wants to come back? I can easily make hot pancakes at home. Husband never did get another refill.
