2 meat combo: tri tip, brisket, fries, mac n cheese, garlic bread
    Lisa V.

I would give this BBQ joint a 3.5 score. The customer service was pretty good; Very nice, friendly, and welcoming. The reason I'm giving this place a 3.5 is strictly for the food. We ordered 2 plate combo with tri tip and brisket and 2 sides: Mac n cheese and fries. We also ordered the brisket sandwich with fries. We got fountain drinks and to our surprise, they had their own soda flavors! They had a vanilla , cherry, and another flavor that I can't recall. We tried the cherry soda and it wasn't my favorite but my husband enjoyed it. The food came out pretty quickly. The brisket was tender and had some good fat marbling however I found it to be dry and not moist. It also lacked flavor but the bbq sauce helped with flavoring. Unfortunately, the tri tip also lacked flavor and moistness. The Mac n cheese was okay but nothing to write home about. The star of the meal was the garlic bread! That was a nice surprise and it tasted really good. The fries were also nice and crispy and fresh. Overall, I think this is an average bbq place in terms of flavor. I would have liked the meat to taste smokier and seasoned as well as more juicy. This would suffice if you were craving a quick fast service style bbq place. Don't think I'd recommend or try this place again though.

Coleslaw tastes ok but bland in appearance. Needs some color of purple cabbage, carrots and possibly raisins. Brisket was a bit dry. Ribs were ok. BBQ sauces were yummy.

Tri Tip Sandwich with Potato Salad

Tried their tri tip sandwich with a side order of potato salad. The meat had a nice smoked flavor and seemed very fresh. It was a tad dry. The quality of meat was great. I enjoyed it and it was better without any BBQ sauce! The potato salad was tasty and was a nice size serving. Friendly service and I like the dining area inside. One of the best lunches I have had in Monterey County.

We come back yearly for our anniversary. So far we've had crossroads bbq every time we roll into town. Unfortunately had to take the food to go since we took the pup for a walk but everything is as good! Tri tip and brisket were great! Bread pudding was good too! I have to try it again but I house so it's nice and warm when I do. Johnny was nice, we spoke bbq and explained menu items well! Great service! See you next year, bud!

Tri Tip Sandwich, Turkey Sandwich, Tri Tip

10/10 Ordered the Tri Tip Sandwich, Turkey Sandwich, and a side of Tri Tip, and wow, absolutely amazing meal all around. I'd 100% recommend every single one of these options. Starting with the Tri Tip Sandwich, this was easily my personal highlight and an absolute must-try. The tri tip was cooked to perfection juicy, well-seasoned, and incredibly tender. Every bite had that perfect balance of smoky flavor and seasoning. The bread was soft and fresh, holding everything together without overpowering the meat. The pickled onions, cucumbers, and jalapeños added the perfect tangy crunch and brightness to cut through the richness. I ordered the salad on the side, and they were generous with the portion, super fresh and crisp. We also ordered the Tri Tip (just the meat), and it truly speaks for itself. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked flawlessly. I honestly kept thinking, how do they make it this good? The Turkey Sandwich completely surprised me, in the best way possible. Turkey can sometimes be dry, but this was the opposite. It was incredibly juicy and executed to a tee. The sauce paired perfectly and elevated the whole sandwich. The bread again was soft and fresh, tying everything together. Easily one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. A staple for sure We also tried the cornbread, it was good! Personally, I would've loved a bit more char on the edges and a stronger corn flavor, but it was still enjoyable overall. Service was amazing. Our waiter brought the food out promptly, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was warm and rustic, such a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

4 meat combo, two sides, and choice of bread

Surprisingly really good coming from a Bay Area foodie family. The whole fam said thumbs up. The staff was friendly and ready to help us or answer any questions. Ambience was casual but modern and clean. Let's get to the food! The Santa Maria salad ($23) that comes with half a pound of tri-tip was very green, fresh, savory, and filling. I used the blue cheese dressing and drizzled a bit of bbq sauce on it! In addition we ordered the four meat combo ($42) and tried tri-tip, brisket, burnt ends, and pork ribs. The high list was the moist brisket, tri tip was also good. Ribs were decent but not quite falling off the bone. As for the burnt ends, it's more drenched in sweet bbq sauce than burnt. Also decent but you'll have to eat it with bread otherwise it's too saucy to eat alone. Now the sides we got the potato salad very solid and tasty. The baked beans were tender but not over done. Good bbq flavor with bits of pulled pork. Flavor and seasoning level was just perfect so that you can eat endless amounts and not be sick of it. Our fam of 4 was pretty good at this point but since brisket was a fan favorite from our boys we ordered another half pound of brisket ($23). Good, but I'd say the combos are better value. We shall be back when we're in town!

This place was okay! I got the kids meal which included 3oz of meat, a side, and my choice of bread. Solid deal and sufficient to fill me up. The brisket was juicy and tender! Best part of the meal. The spicy bbq sauce was a nice addition. I didn't care for the beans or cornbread unfortunately they were dry and lacking in flavor. Otherwise, service is quick and easy. Staff and host were very friendly. Lively spot for families, couples, and solos alike in a nice plaza in the heart of downtown Carmel.

We have made this a regular stop for takeout and dine in! They have a simple menu with good, barbecued meat and side dishes. Unique takes like shredded pork breakfast tacos, meat-filled baked spuds and large serving portions make it hard to resist. If you're not in the mood for meat, they have a Berry Bleu salad with blackberries, apples, glazed pecans and bleu cheese. It's a large portion and delicious! Enjoy the patio on a sunny day with your pet and watch as people walk by. Their staff is super friendly and to put a stamp on it all, they have a rewards program that leads to $$ rewards pretty fast. They have seasonal specials. In November, they had barbecued turkey that you could have as a combo or as a sandwich. In February 2026, they will have beef ribs. Three of us shared the bread pudding at the last visit and it had delicious details like a rum glaze and the same caramelized pecans as the Berry Bleu salad. One more thing to add: Every server and manager we've ever encountered has been super friendly. One of the servers remembers my order. I'm in a wheelchair and they're super helpful.

Very clean restaurant really nice bathrooms super friendly service. They have breakfast tri-tip sandwich, sandwiches and brisket tri-tip sandwich sandwiches.

For someone who really loves BBQ this is a place you have to stop by. The ribs are so so good and the brisket is perfect. With many BBQ spots they have great meats but sometimes lack in sides... once you try this corn bread and slaw... it will keep you coming back. Great spot. 10/10.

For dessert not pictured was the crème burlee, bread pudding, and affogato. Some of us got the same meal. I had the prime rib median well and I wasn't expecting it be so big! It was tender and came with veggies and a baked potato. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the veggies were cooked. I'm not a huge fan of squash but I really enjoyed it. I had left overs because of how big the steak was. We also had a basket of garlic bread which was good. It wasn't the best garlic bread I've had but it was and they gave us a lot. I tried both the bread pudding and affogato which were delicious. All were made in house including the ice cream. Overall, it was a great experience as the ambiance was amazing. It was like three different sections: outside, inside, and closer to the bar area which got really packed. I want to return to experience the Sunday brunch.

I also added a side of bacon and a biscuit with jam. When our food arrived I immediately asked them for butter for my biscuit which then never arrived. At some point my husband got up to ask for butter, while he was gone the server came back and asked how our food was, to which I responded can I please have some butter. She then proceeded to ask me the most ridiculous question of "oh did they not bring you any butter?" To which I responded by presenting her with my butter free table. Oh my husband returned. He told me that apparently they charged $1.50 for butter. When the butter finally arrived more than like 10 or 15 minutes later from the original time that I asked for it, my biscuit was inevitably of course cold. So then when the server did finally come with the butter, I actually told her I was like you know what my biscuit is now cold and I don't have any need for the butter so I just want to send both back. To which she offered to heat up the biscuit... I told her that that wasn't necessary that I just wanted to send it back. When our bill came, they charged us both for the biscuit and for the butter. When my husband let the server know she made a mistake and she forgot to remove the biscuit and butter her she then told him that she had to go talk to her manager. At this point, I already thought it was a little bit weird that she had to have a conversation with her manager about something that she need to remove from the bill, but whatever I didn't really think much of it. A couple minutes later, the manager arrives and asks us if we had any issues with the bill. I let her know that they didn't remove the butter or the biscuit after we sent it back. To which she then now had a new argument for me saying that we had been told on the menu that they charge $1.50 for butter... That wasn't the dispute the dispute was that we sent everything back untouched. So why would we be charged for it? She then proceeded to argue with me telling me that I was very rude. And then she rolled her eyes and only spoke to my husband from that point on. Of course, they ended up removing the butter and the biscuit which by the way came out to a total of $7.50 when she returned, she told me to never come back to the restaurant again. I have never in my life been told any such thing. But, worry not this unnecessarily pretentious group of stationaery employees... I shall never return to this establishment again you couldn't pay me to come back and re-experience this extremely underwhelming throw away of a service ever again.

The sauce was creamy, salty, and cheesy. Again there were three pieces of plainer bread that you can use to get all of the sauce in the pan. The truffle pizza was really good as well. Very obvious truffle flavor mixed with the slightly crispy and umami-ness of the mushrooms. What made the pizza even better was drizzling a bit of the gnocchi cream/sauce along with what I think is their house hot oil that they provided. Finishing off with the panna cotta was perfect after heavier mains. It was light but had a good sweetness. The blueberry was a sort of flattened jelly, which is cool instead of being chunks of blueberry. I was already thinking of returning the next day to try some of their other main dishes as they looked good!

The staff were pleasant, helpful and very polite. I'm sure they all need a long nap after all the customers they served so graciously. Highly recommend the food, service and hospitality!

They have indoor and outdoor seating , we got their early so the seats were a little wet but Rita wiped down the seats and provided us with blanket covers so the seats were not cold and we had some warmth. She was beyond kind and it was very much appreciated. Also there are only a few parking in front so you may have to park a street or two over. Servicewas just outstanding... Rita checked on us often, brought out treats and water for our dogs and was just amazing. Food: The braised corn beef hash: was absolute perfection... I love corn beef hash and this take with the braised corned beef just spoils you with deliciousness. The poached egg was perfect, I have never braised corned beef but I'm going to learn to try and make a dish like this. My wife got the chicken and waffles, and she gave me some and it was perfect, the one thing that hit the most was the breading on the chicken was so delicious , they made sure the flavor complemented the sweetness of the waffle and syrup, the chicken was tender and with the waffle it was just something else. I also tried their biscuit and gravy and it was so good. The sausage in the gravy and the flavor was so delicious. Overall you can't for wrong here... the complement to the chef and the Rita... you truly have a hidden Gem that we are glad we found.
