We've now been to The Branch twice this summer thanks to their participation in the "Kids Bowl Free" program. We would have come eventually anyway, but this just hastened the visit. I am giving the 4 stars based mostly on the first visit. Because the second visit was not so great. I'm sure it was just a glitch in overall operations, but still some things to be aware of. We got a lane for our family of four right away when we arrived around 11:00 on a Tuesday. The ambience is great. I like the little added touch of having all the Loudoun County towns across the top of the lanes. It's nice to have an affordable place to bring the family bowling in the area. The score keeping system is cute and engaging and keeps kids entertained. The alley itself is a little cramped... there is very little space on each lane to actually move/walk past someone. So if you have a party of six (which is the most the will put on a lane) prepare to be VERY cramped. But I get it... they need to maximize on space. The food is decent. We haven't tried just the restaurant but we have ordered food to eat while bowling. Pretty standard. Nothing spectacular but also decent food for a bowling alley. I would definitely recommend this place but maybe at a time when it isn't super busy? Which brings me to our second visit. I guess they were having issues with their cooling system because it was a SAUNA in there. Made all the worse by a lot of people. At 3:00 on a Friday we were told we'd have to sit about 20 minutes for a lane. No big deal. They were busy, I get it. But when there is a wait they need to make sure they are actively policing the lanes. We watched a family of four camped out across TWO lanes... only one of which had they actually been bowling on... sit at their lane for a full 30 minutes after they were done bowling. They even had food delivered there and sat and ate it. If they are going to charge by the game, then people should not be allowed to take up the space after they are done bowling. Nothing was one until my husband went up and asked about it. Also, they do offer leagues here. Based on the condition of the approach on th I would be angry. It was filthy. Which makes sliding impossible. The first time I tried (taking for granted that I would be able to) I almost face planted on the lane. Maybe it was because of the crazy temps inside the building. But that's not great. Hopefully they clean up before leagues. So, overall we'll come back. But if it looks (or feels) like it did on our second visit, I will turn around and walk right back out the door. We probably would have on that day as well, but because we had the kids bowl free coupons, we weren't paying for our games. read more

I had the Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce. The sauce was very bland. It desperately needs some herbs, even if it was dried oregano, basil. Definitely needs some salt. The pasta was OK. It seemed to have been already cooked and possibly sitting in a steam table. The dish would have benefited from some garlic bread on side. I won't order this again. Where to start... clean space, good food, and friendly servers. But it often feels like staff is putting on a brave face. Management does not support their staff. I have witnessed them consistently speaking to them disrespectfully for trivial and non customer-focused concerns. I love the atmosphere and everything about the place except for the pricing. It's unfortunately too expensive for a couple to bowl here for date night or anything like that. I've only come twice, once because we actually had a larger group to make the $50 an hour price worth it and once for the super late night free bowling. Visited the branch with 19 people from my wife's extended family. Upon arrival, there were five bowling lanes available and we rented three of them. We got fitted for shoes and balls. We mostly shared bowling balls, but it was okay because they actually fit my hand quite well. I played well on this day too. My son said the free lemon water tasted bad. But the water they served us in pitchers was filtered and iced - very good. I requested a pitcher of sangria from the bar, which was not on the menu. But the bartender made it, nonetheless. He also served us a pitcher of beer. The bowling memes were great. You can take up to three pictures of yourself - one smiling, one goofy, and one serious. Throughought your bowling games, the pictures are used in funny ways to show who did well and who didn't. I enjoyed that. There weren't that many bowling lanes, but the ones they did have worked perfectly and were in good condition. We had a great time bowling here. read more

We stopped by thinking we were going to bowl with the family but instead we had a meal and hung out in their mini arcade. The atmosphere is great here. The bowling alley looks new and really clean. The bistro on the side had a decent looking menu. We ordered the grilled cheese and chicken tenders for the kids. I got the break burrito and my wife got the blackened shrimp wrap. Everything was great besides the burrito. It was lacking a bit of flavor. Everything else, didn't have any complaints. The service was great. My son dropped a piece of chicken tender and they made a new order for him. Server was attentive and was great. The arcade is great for kids. They have a few racing games, basketball, skeeball, grabbing machines, air hockey, and jurassic park. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu and get some bowling action. A great place for an affordable family night. They also have a small arcade. Pro tip: If you want to avoid a wait for lanes, get there around 4:45pm. They open at 5:00. Attended their first murder mystery dinner on Thursday evening. It was awesome. The concept was cool, the menu delicious and the stage coach company that provided the talent was a lot of fun. It was a pre fixed 4 course dinner experience with cocktail pairings. Staff was friendly, helpful and provided good customer service. Such a fun impromptu bowling date. I think it was around $50/hr around 3pm on a Saturday. Got a pitcher of beer and played almost two games with 4 people. They let us play a little longer to try and finish our second game. It started getting super packed around 4pm. They also have an archade area and dining. 16 lanes and the areas for seating are high top long tables, which is different than your chain bowling alleys. Nice, attentive staff. Had heard this place was renovated so wanted to try on a holiday week. Rate is reasonable for hourly for group of 5. Pretty crowded for a weekday with all types of people and very family friendly. Though new, the lanes and space is pretty tight if you have a large party. As a Leesburg resident, wanted to patronize local. Hourly rate you prepay per our ahead of time. Shoes they had run out of 11's so had to get 12's which is weird since it was no where near full. Food was good. Ordered snacky food for an afternoon. Mozzarella sticks were awesome. Pretzel was fresh and huge, great to share. Fries were good also but a little small but also price was smaller. Bowling was upgraded with ability to put pictures of bowlers in the lanes and with animations between frames. Staff was courteous and food came out quickly. It's still a smaller alley with only one small service counter that does games, shoes and you have to get balls (vs. just left outside). Not much of a crowd when we went (though every lane pair had a group) but I'd imagine it could get really backed up when it's really busy. They will upcharge you on the item if you are clear on which side of the menu you are ordering from. For a new and up and coming bowling establishment this place misses the mark. To start off, we waited for 20 minutes for a "server" at a very empty establishment (5 active lanes). When the server didn't arrive, I went to the bar to get a beer and was promptly told to go back to my table and wait for server. I kindly said no, and please give me a beer here. 7 out of the 10 people at our table were told the same when they went to the bar for a beer. 5 trips to the bar later and we still never saw the "server". We eventually flagged someone down about 45 minutes in so we could order food. Then... bowling.. staff was clueless when asked for help if they were even able to be found. Lanes shut off randomly and we waited 10-15 minutes each time to find someone to correct the issue. Paid for 2 hours to bowl but lost about 40 minutes to incompetence or lack of staff. The head desk was absent for over 15 minutes with a line of patrons trying to bowl 2 times in our visit. For what's its worth, the manager acknowledged the issue and offered a free hour of bowling and the food was great. However. There is alot to improve on for the customers whole experience to make a successful business. read more

Bowling is a little pricey, but they offer a quality product. I can't tell you how happy I am with the food quality. It's American burger fare, but they do it right. You don't feel like a high school kid is microwaving a frozen Sysco patty. The food is better quality than you'd expect. They've been open for a couple years now and the quail it is still there. I went here for the first time tonight for Monday night bowling. From 7pm to 10pm you can bowl for $10 total. Genius. My server's name was Olivia. She was awesome! Extremely attentive and polite. She kept a smile on her face the entire night! She made our experience amazing! However, there was a bartender named Tyler. He was so rude! I ordered four drinks, however, I only received three. At the end of the night, we were trying to settle the tabs and when I told Olivia that I never got the 4th drink, she said that she thought the same thing. I went to the bar and tried to explain to the bartender and the manager that I only received 3 drinks and not 4. The manager and the server listened and tried to resolve the situation. Tyler, the bartender, cut everyone off and told me that someone at the table was going to pay for the drink. His tone of voice and delivery was not only rude, but disrespectful. On top of that, it seemed that the poor server was scared to speak up for herself because he was so aggressive over ONE drink. As a server myself, and someone who has worked in the service industry for many years (along with all three of my sisters), I was shocked and extremely disappointed in the way that this man spoke to not only paying customers, but two women. Especially after my sister and I both told all three of them that the fourth drink was never given to me. I don't always agree in "the customer is always right" because if I'm being honest, they're not... but if multiple people at a table are telling you that they never received an item that was ordered, you should not be argumentative and rude to a customer. All in all, the experience was pretty great. But the customer service that we received from the bartender (Tyler)... completely unacceptable. read more

This place is awesome. I came with a group, and they gave us a group discount. It was a great deal and we paid up front for two hours, which made it easy to relax and enjoy it, and not have to worry about how much each game was costing. They also keep the balls behind the counter, and bring one out that is the weight you want with the right size finger holes. So much easier than wandering up and down lanes, looking for a ball that fits. The floors are gorgeous wood and fun to dance around on in slippy bowling shoes. The electronic lane set up and scoring is easy. Best of all, there is tons of space for everyone in the lane to move around and talk. They have a restaurant and bar, we didn't eat there, but it was great being able to bring drinks over to the bowling area. This place is also easy to find with plenty of parking. read more

Food is good. The bowling is fun. They have really cool animations on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to reserve lanes in advance unlike every other bowling alley in the area. That is a fatal drawback for us. We simply are not going to waste our time waiting an hour for a lane when we can reserve one five minutes down the road. If it were not for that drawback we would definitely give it four stars. Until they change that policy, we will be going elsewhere. No one has time for all that. read more

The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is bc it's quite gendered. The bowling scoring computer has cute cartoons but asks for your gender wo non-binary or other as an option. This was probably one of the worst bowling experiences I've ever had. Trying to resolve it was like dealing with an old fashioned slick used car salesman. The real problem here is the management/ownership. They just don't care about customer service and it shows. It's like a lot of poorly run places, everything is fine until you have a problem and then they make it clear they have enough business that they don't care. Food was okay and such. They did a great job with the facelift on this place. Staff were friendly and accommodating, food was good, very good when compared to other bowling alley food. The one place I think they are missing the mark is with their beer list. The Branch has a vibe that it would be local craft beer friendly, especially with naming each lane after a part of Loudoun. Unfortunately their beer list is subpar and even with some craft beer options on the list few are from the area. Tweak the menu slightly, there are great options within 2-3 miles of The Branch. read more
