Craving some Italian food for my birthday yesterday, I found this place on yelp and along with a couple friends, decided to try it out. It was okay. Just okay. I had lasagna as did one other person and the other one of us had the Gorgonzola butternut squash ravioli. The lasagnas were okay but obviously had been in the pan for awhile as the edges were dark (burnt) and crunchy, and the whole serving was dried out and not especially tasty. Flavor was just okay but truthfully, after reading the other reviews here on yelp, I expected to be eating something amazing. It was not amazing. According to my friend who had the raviolis, they were good but not enough of them to satisfy her hunger. We ordered at the counter, including canned drinks from the cooler. Self-service water was pointed out to us as was the coffee. As I already said above, it might be that we were expecting to have our taste buds knocked out of their seats but it didn't happen. With four inside tables, three of which were reserved, it seems they are doing well so we are hoping we just got in on an off night for the chef and we'll try them again another day and hope to have the same experience as other yelpers have had. read more

Small, simple and cozy is the ambience in this little Italian diner in Silverton. Not quite as quaint as this beautiful town, but it matches the humbleness of the 2 Italian owners. They are from Italy and the authenticity of the food is apparent immediately. I had the caprese salad, personal pepperoni pizza, and eggplant Parmesan. Starting with the salad, the fresh mozzarella was delicious and together with a great balsamic created a fabulous start to this simple but delicious meal. The pizza was omg amazing! By far the best I have ever had. I dined here with the landlord of this place and he said people cone for miles just for the pizza. I prefer a crispy thin crust, and this delivered on the edges. What was surprising was that the crust in the center was soggy but the incredibly delicious! Like a savory doughy pasta, incredibly flavorful with a good chew soaking in the most delicious Italian spiced pasta sauce. This combined with the crispy not overly bready outside crust was heaven to eat! I could eat just the crust with cheese and wine and be happy for life! Regarding the eggplant Parmesan, honestly I was too full by the time I was ready for it. I had just a bite and took it home. But the flavors of the eggplant, cheese and spices created a synergy of deliciousness! I will crave this restaurant forever! Yes it's that good! read more

So unbelievably disappointed with this place. The reviews looked great so I decided to try it which took two attempts.. First day, there was a sign on the door saying closed from 4-5pm for catering, it was 5:10pm so I assumed they would be finishing up. I called the store, they didn't answer and I waited outside until 5:20. A few customers came and knocked on the door, she let us in. We then waited another 20 minutes to hopefully order. She stayed behind the kitchen the entire time and didn't come out. I left. Despite this, I decided to come back the next day, giving her the benefit of the doubt. She was rude and scoffed at me. She also told me it was a 20 minute wait time, which was fine. It ended up being an hour exactly! The pizza itself was good, nothing extraordinary and immediately got cold despite it being so "fresh" with the one hour wait time. The center was thin and flappy. read more

This has to be hands-down the most surprising gem I have ever eaten in Oregon in the northwest. The pizza is outstanding and I'm from the East Coast. The guy who made it from Italy go figure. O M G. Husband had new raviolis offered, ricotta, pecorino, mushrooms & butter, the pasta was so very delicious & incredibly delicate. Smaller portion, but priced well. My financial institutions have sent me a thank you card for living in Salem and that this establishment is not down the road from me, or within a 5 min drive. Silverton has a a diamond value restaurant. Came in and ordered the "Spring" focaccia sandwich, two drinks from the fridge up front, a margherita pizza in the neapolitan style and one scoop each of gelato for my wife and I. Didn't get photos of the gelato, but it was wonderful, I got mint and my wife got stracciatella. The sandwich I was concerned about, the bread that came out just looked like a fluffy big loaf, and maybe not focaccia, but I can assure you this is focaccia sandwich bread that is what most places wish they could make! Looks too big for a full bite, but the second you go for it, the pillowy soft bread, with the taste of olive oil, salt, and simplicity, was everything I ever wanted out of the sandwich with burrata, arugula, prosciutto di parma and balsamic. It was sooo good. The pizza is great and was absolutely the neapolitan pizza of someone's dreams, sauce that is a great amount, not too little - not obnoxious, and crust that makes me reminisce of Italy and the beautiful people, culture and ultimately the world changing food. It genuinely made me think of all of these things and just remember, that simplicity is the ultimate indulgence. WOW this place! read more

Had there margherita pizza and was confused ? I've never had a pizza that has a delicious crust around the rim but that was it. From the rim the crust was paper thin and filled with tomato sauce that was more like soup , that had me using the rim crust to dip into the sauce. Cute little kitchen on corner with sidewalk tables, some shaded. We drove by the place once, but forgot where we first spotted it while looking for a pizza place (a truck) that came up on a Yelp search. Never found the truck. Gave up, looked up a Thai restaurant with good Yelp reviews and discovered once we parked, it was right next door! So glad we discovered this serendipitously . We split a Classic focaccia sandwich with burrata cheese, mortadella, pistachio crème. Had to follow it up with Tiramisu (they also have gluten free Tiramisu). The proprietors Julia and Pietro are from Verona Italy and are very friendly and accommodating. This was an unexpected treat to find this cute little cucina on our travels! read more

Wow! This new restaurant is fantastic! I grew up in New Jersey, so I'm particular about my Italian. This place is like going to Italy. The margherita pizza had fresh basil and burrata cheese. Yeasty crust. Perfect sauce and mozzarella. The focaccia sandwiches are enormous and stuffed with top quality ingredients. Best of all, the prices are reasonable.
