Overall he did a great job and was very nice, only reason I took 1 star off was that it was $20 plus tip for the cut, a little on the expensive side for most shops around but was worth it to make sure I got a proper cut. This establishment has three such artists at the ready. From the moment you walk into the shop it is as you have stepped back in time. The approach displayed by each of the gentlemen along with their attention to detail leads me to an appreciation of the experience. Really nice place to get a haircut. The place is air conditioned and there are plenty of seats inside. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait to get my haircut because there was only one other guy getting a haircut. Juan gave me a great cut despite me not knowing what I really wanted. He was helpful and gave me good ideas. All the guys there seemed chill and they really take their time to make your cut perfect. They are cash only but they do have an ATM right in their store. These guys think they're so frickin' cool with their wannabe hipster aesthetic they've got going on. They think because of this, they can overcharge on haircuts. We came in and literally everyone that came in after us apparently had an appointment. We tried being patient but I was starting to get cheesed off when the people coming in after us were being helped first and we weren't even being acknowledged. Came here on Thursday evening around 5pm. Parking is easily found on the street on Valley Blvd. I walked in, saw a barber cutting someone's hair. He seemed busy so I walked further into the barber shop towards the cash register. The barber shop is small but there are plenty of seats. It has an old school barber shop feel I like and +1 for the Motown songs/old school r&b music they played. I'm a huge fan. There was a barber and a young gentleman at the front so I assumed they were also busy. Sat down and continued to wait. A barber named David opened up a chair for me and began cutting my hair. I wanted something manageable like a hard cut comb over and he gave me what I wanted with a nice fade. He did a great job. He paid attention to the details and made sure every little part of my hair was cut properly. Suggested I trim the tip a bit and it turned out fine. Overall, a cut for men's hair is $20. I've came here once back in November in search of a new barber that was more available around my schedule and I decided to give this place a try considering I pass by it almost every other night. Nick Huertas the owner of the shop took my appointment and luckily enough he was familiar with the work my previous barber does since they knew each other. Shop is small, neat and organized. Yes, walk ins are cheaper but the wait is contingent on their regulars who set up appointments. Barbers there are nice, and like to chat. There is usually a movie playing on their big screen so enjoy the flick while you wait to be groomed. There are not a lot of places that cut well, and normally I only have one guy cut my hair, and this time I decided to let someone else cut it and I was happy with my haircut. They are better barbers than most in the area. The inside is very simple, yet there is a TV there to keep you preoccupied while you wait. However, when I mean simple, Its just a room with chairs against a wall as you wait but it is not too dirty inside. I didn't have an appointment, but one of the barber's said there was one appointment and walk-in in front of me. So, I waited less than 20 minutes, which to my surprise wasn't to long to a wait.
