Contrary to the negative review of Tommy, which I have been going to for a year + now. I started here when I had a buzz cut and he was very meticulous about doing my fade then as he is now. As for someone who knows anything about Barber shop culture, you should be vocal. If you had an appointment then you wait. If you didn't say something so you don't waste your time. Nice place staffed with skilled barbers who like to channel the vibe in the movie "Goodfellas" while working (often extending the already long wait times), BUT, the Cutlery's major malfunction is they poorly handle opening and closing times (or is it just Nick's fault? --hey Nick: BUY A WATCH!). About the half time I went for a haircut (I don't go there anymore), the place was either still closed (beyond posted opening time), closed early or closed mid-day with no advance notice or sign on the door. The barbershop is legit! Got my haircut at this location for the first time and I am certainly impressed! The barber, Tommy, was courteous and knows what he was doing. Very excellent at cutting hair and knows how to keep a conversation going! The environment of the shop was very unique; the music was cool (they keep it old school with some oldies). Parking can be a hassle since its on Valley Blvd and there are only a limited amount of spots to park on the street, luckily I found a parking spot close by so hopefully there's an empty spot close by. Most places charge right around $14 for a men's haircut. Here it's $20 but in my personal opinion it is VERY worth it! These guys are excellent in their craft and if you are lucky enough like I was today , there will be open chairs so you don't have to wait for the next chair to be open. But do take note that this is not certain on other days because they do get very congested, as mentioned by the barber, so the earlier the better. Overall I give this barbershop 5/5 stars!! I finally a new spot to get some very fresh, clean haircuts now, especially since I'm far away from my old spot in L.A. I never found a good enough cut, or someone who could level up my style. Tommy was the barber I was looking for. I didn't even do a good job of explaining what I was going for the first time, but he is an expert so he took my vague clues and a lot of attention to detail and artistry later, I had an excellent cut and a new style I've been rocking to this day. As i was waiting for NICK (the barber i chose to cut my hair).the "skinny fat guy" HENRY was nice enough to ask my girlfriend and i if wed like anything to drink from a variety of drinks actually..he brought us two beers. This is definitely my new go to spot. I have probably been here 5 times and have been satisfied every single time. The barbers here are pretty detailed oriented. They seem to pay attention to every single haircut. The thing to note here is because they are detail oriented, you may have to wait some time. I have had no waits to an hour to 2 hour waits, but honestly it's worth it because of how good these guys are compared to some of the barbershops around here. Maybe the 2 hour wait was a little much, but besides that one instance, I have waited and got my haircut done in about an hour to hour and a half by just dropping in.
