Great street tacos. This location only does tacos. There is another location that does more. Parking can be a little confusion but they do have an area next to it. Service was fast. You do have the option to get your food to go. You will be asked if you are getting your food to go and if not they will offer you a drink and bring it to a clean table for you.

Al pastor is the way to go!!! Amazing tacos, my husband went to get these for us and extremely friendly service, typical Mexican food vibes, and best of all... delicious tacos!!!! Our favorite was the Al pastor. Being from LA I'm picky about tacos and these are the way to go!!!

My "go to" Mexican street taco stop! Amazing and delicious. Hot and fresh. And always friendly. Love the variety of meats, and the way the tacos are served with the cucumbers and onions. A place to add to your list of must eat and repeat. My only criticism is that sometimes the music is just sooo loud.

Bistek, suadero, lengua, pastor (I can't remember which was which). All delicious!

I had the pleasure of getting here for Taco Tuesday and for a Thursday when I wanted more. In terms of tacos, this is as authentic as Mexican street food gets. As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!

Another amazing meal! It's consistent which is a major plus This time it was all al pastor tacos with a grilled jalapeño

Chorizo, tripes, steak, and brisket tacos.

Great service ~ food came out fast and the waitresses came around multiple times to ask if we wanted to order more tacos or needed anything else. The tacos itself were a bit bland and they ran out of al pastor. Would recommend ordering ~ 6+ each person.

Legit bomb street tacos! This place has got it pat down and shine in what they're known for. Basically, the menu is on the window ordering counter- several proteins to choose from - one side listed in Spanish, the other English. The servers can help place your orders, obtain your drinks, seat you, and get anything you need. All orders come as a plate of 6 street tacos of your choice. I ordered 2 bistek, 2 al pastor, and 2 tongue with all the fixings (onions, cilantro, sliced radishes, and grilled onions). Delicious!!!' The al pastor had the most flavor and was on a trompo. I poured some green salsa on top for a kick. And to go with my tacos, I drank a Mexican pineapple soda. Pay at the register when you're done! It's all on an honor system. From what I understand, this place can get packed in the evenings and weekend, we ate around 2pm on a weekday and it was perfect! I would totally return when in the area.

My allll time favorite taco place in San Antonio. The flavor of the tacos are amazing and I love the sauces that they have. I would say the tacos are pretty affordable and they give you a lot of meat. My favorite taco to get from them is their Al Pastor tacos which is only served on Friday and the weekends. The service is fast and very attentive. If you need something to drink after you sit down with your tacos they will approach you asking if you would like anything to drink. It gets pretty busy at night since they are open late but people are always coming in and out. You must try this place if you are visiting San Antonio!!!!

I'm from Dallas recently went to San Antonio to visit SeaWorld while I was there. I tried a few new food places. One happen to be this place we could tell it was gonna be good by all the cars outside.but don't the packed parking lot intimidate you the line was super fast. The cooks are very good at what they do. It was me and five other people in my party. They got us in and out within a few minutes with a line all the way out the door the food was 10 out of 10 tacos so good. I ate my whole plate and bought some just to take home. This is your first time there just know that you pay after you eat. It's a little different than what I'm used to in Dallas, but it was definitely worse the drive.

My goodness these tacos were very traditional and reminded of us our tacos in San Filipe! They are that good! They only do tacos and they do them exceptionally well! Don't let the line deter you, it moves fast! You order your tacos, 5 to a plate and staff brings you a drink and you pay when you leave. Very casual relaxed spot. Tacos the best we've found!

Quick , the service is excellent and the food even better. Just show up, walk to the window and order street tacos, then take a seat. They bring salsa and drinks. Pay after you finish. Busy, quick and delicious food, great service !

West Ave Tacos is such a cool spot. The garage building has a great vibe and it feels really authentic. The tacos are tasty and I love their salsas, they really take it up a notch. It seems like they recently upped their prices which is a bit of a bummer and the system of being in line twice, once to order and then again to pay, is kind of inconvenient. Even so, the food and atmosphere make it worth it and I'll still go back for the tacos and salsas.

As a native Californian nothings screams tacos like authentic Mexican tacos! And boy does Taquitos West Ave have the best tacos in San Antonio! With an array of meats: Al Pastor, asada, suadero, chorizo, tripas and more. You can't go wrong! I have been here so many times I always forget to take out tired because their tacos are just that good! There's always a line, even if it's long it goes by really fast! The service is impeccable and the food is even better! The salsas range from medium to spicy but they're all delicious. They don't serve alcohol which honestly it's appreciated as it's a family restaurant. They always have music playing but it's not super loud. Will be back very soon!

Is any of their meat gluten free?

Meat is gluten free, it is cooked separately from the heated tortillas.

They only serve Pastor on certain days, what are those days again?

    Thursday - Sunday

    Can we seat inside?

There is now!!!! Indoor and outdoor seating available

What are the prices for the street tacos? Asada.

I paid 10 for 6 tacos and they were great prices are low

Do they have anything other than beef? Pork Carnitas?

Yes. They have pork Thursday through Sunday when they serve al pastor. They also have tripa but I've never seen pork carnitas.

Do they take American Express credit cards?

    Yes ma’am, they do!

Do y'all have chicken tacos?? And carne Asada?

I haven't seen either of those on the menu- If you're looking for something similar, I'd go with the tripas or bistek, but the options are:…

    Is it BYOB?

Who cares?!?!? Go get the best taco of your life!

    Is it dog friendly?

I've never seen dogs there. I think the seating is probably too small and too tight for dogs.

If you normally drink your coffee black then I do not recommend it because it is a bit on the sweet side. But they do offer regular pot coffee as an option. (The sweetness caught my mom off guard). Taste it before you add anything to it. I also recommend trying the small conchas-they came out warm and ready to eat! I'm not a big fan of chorizo, but I do seek out unique variations of eggs benedict, and this one fit the bill, so I went for it. The flavor combination was perfect, and I wasn't overwhelmed with chorizo. If you like eggs benny, give this variation a try. You won't be sorry! The refried beans - I know it's silly to review beans, but these were a bit different than the normal ones we find in SA. They had a bit more texture, unlike the overly blended beans we're used to. Chef's Kiss goes out to these beans! The potatoes - we weren't sure what the seasoning was, but we think it was adobo. Whatever the seasoning is, it puts them over the top as far as breakfast potatoes are concerned. Good stuff! Just a couple of notes: We didn't get tortillas with our breakfast. It might have been an oversight, or our meals didn't come with them. Not sure. The service was great, but depending on the server you get, you might need to know some Spanish. I give them 5 solid stars for breakfast.

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing.
