A laid-back place like this, no one would ever suspect I had a little too much fun here in my youth. But most of the time I was just another guy standing around not talking to complete strangers. All depended on the music and the drinks. They don't play dancing music here as often as I'd like, but this is a pretty great location IMO to grab drinks before or after going out. Even can pop off during the week, in fact that's when you find the more motivated crowd and service industry letting loose. Though sometimes I felt a bit out of my element here, at least there was usually no cover. I did take some friends once randomly on their birthday cause of course being young guys they wanted to meet the Hollywood "babes." I tried to introduce them politely and failed, not their fault it's a rather uppity crowd. If your friends are 6'5, blue eyes, finance and trust fund types, you'll do fine. Otherwise, maybe go somewhere a little more low-key that attracts an expat community and big oil money, instead of rich college actor or model money. Which is admittedly a tough thing to find in this part of town, but if you go where the demo is less straight you'll likely have a lot more fun. read more

Came here recently for a friends late night birthday party and the vibes were great. The space is actually pretty cute and cozy and the service is ok. I wish their menu had more options for those who are gluten free and/or vegan but I'm not surprised. The drinks were pretty good and they had a fun little photo op area which was cute. I'd come back more if I was invited or to grab a drink at the bar but I just wish they had more options as far as food is concerned. This place used to be a really fun bar scene but after recently dropping by with some girlfriends..not so much anymore. There was a DJ and a full bar, but just a couple of people standing around and it was a Friday night. A few years back, this place was filled to the brim with alcohol flowing everywhere. I can tell that they've done some renovations (tables/booths), so perhaps it's now better for day dining, at least we managed to get a cute pic at the Photo Booth. read more

Experience: We were able to make a reservation for 6 people the day of on a Friday evening and were seated no problem. There's indoor seating where it's darker and the music is kind of loud, so I'm glad we chose outdoor seating so we could hear each other. Service was quick and friendly. Food: The menu isn't super wide, but if you like American bar food, you'll definitely like this place. The prices are fairly reasonable for LA as well, although none of the sandwiches or burgers come with fries. I split the chicken sandwich and the hamburger with a friend and both were good. Everyone else liked their food as well. Overall nothing special, but did the job for a last minute dinner with friends. read more

I had never heard of the Den on Sunset until I went for my friends birthday this week, and I've got to say it was pretty good! I got a glass of rose and a Caesar Salad with chicken which was super yummy! Everything was very decently priced for being on sunset, and the vibes were super good. Whoever was on aux was absolutely killing it! The music was so fun to listen to. The service was a little slower than I might expect from a restaurant this nice, but they made up for it by giving us birthday pizookies and my friend got a birthday shot! Went here to celebrate a birthday and watch the superbowl. Everything was great except the Niners lost. Brett and his team were attentive and very customer focused. I did not see anyone standing around watching the game. Instead they were running around making sure everyone was taken care of. The QR code ordering is very efficient. You don't have to wait for a server to order or reorder. Food and drinks come to the table very quickly. Drinks were very well made and delicious. Appetizers were excellent specially the chicken wings. The calamari and loaded fries were amazing too. The steak sandwich, chicken club, quesadillas, Caesar salad and the burger were all well prepared and delicious. I used to come here before they remodeled with all my friends and the vibe/people were amazing. Great music, awesome staff, delicious food and Karaoke every Wednesday, so I was pretty excited when they said they were remodeling as well but if you've been to The Den before and you go now it's night and day. Vibe is COMPLETELY DEAD with this upscale bar styled restaurant. Everything just seems so dull and joyless here now. P.S I hope Ernesto is still bartending! Attended a private party there recently. Cool space. Liked the outdoor area, and the indoor areas had a good vibe. We mostly had lighter bites. Cauliflower wings were spicy and good, as was the fried Brussel sprout. We also had specialty drinks, which were tasty. Thought it strange that the bar doesn't carry Chardonnay, only Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon blanc for white wines. Parking can be a little tricky in the area. I think there was valet nearby, but it was a Sunday afternoon, so we found a meter --$2/hour with a 2 hour max, so we had to set an alarm to feed meter bc there was parking enforcement cruising the strip like sharks, the ocean. After reviewing FULL video footage of bouncers assaulting my friend and I, cops suggested we press charges for battery. My friend was grabbed from behind without warning or any communication and dragged up a flight of steps. I was choked for asking for more information about why the situation was handled that way and she was shoved into sunset Blvd after trying to stop the choking. We were already on our way out of the bar, I was waiting for a car to go home when everything went down. It was almost last call and the place was empty. Employees of this bar have promoted online bullying as a result of us leaving an honest yelp review. NO ONE should have to experience an unwarranted physical altercation and then be bullied on the internet for it. There are plenty of other reviews of The Den corroborating the abrasive bouncer behavior from other patrons over the years. Do your research before you grab a drink here. read more

The drinks are delicious! The customer service is exceptional. The bartender Robert is always smiling and welcoming. An attentive and courteous midwest gentleman. Karaoke on Tuesdays here are always a good time! The karaoke host Dina is always kind. Karaoke starts at 10pm to close. This is a great spot for groups. I've been here on several occasions and always had a great time. Service is great and they don't mind you just chilling around by the fire pit they have. For food, I absolutely love their shoestring fries and cauliflower wings. A lot of people like their truffle mac and cheese too. For drinks, my go to is the Swedish Lemonade. On getting to The Den, I would recommend uber/lyft if you can but if you need to park, they have valet and it's $8. If you don't have cash, you can pay with Venmo. read more

I've been to this place before and after covid. It was and still is a great spot to take a date and relax with a drink and some food. I came here last night with a friend and it wasn't packed like I've seen it on weekends. We were able to get sat quickly. The venue was very clean and they had the fireplace going (very nice). We both got the bbq bacon burger and it's pretty good. It's served on a delicious bun and I got mine with the truffle fries which are amazing. Our server (Mary, Mari?) was attentive, quick and provided a great service. We finished eating and left before 1030 as the location was beginning to become more of a bar setting.
