Had a great experience at Saint Felix Hollywood. The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it a great spot for a date night, happy hour, or a night out with friends. We started with the Watermelon Martini and the S'mores Espresso Martini. Both were excellent, but the S'mores Espresso Martini was definitely the standout with its graham cracker rim, toasted marshmallows, and chocolate shavings. The St. Felix Sample Platter was a great way to try a variety of menu favorites. The Wagyu slider, Malaysian-style steak skewers, and truffle parmesan popcorn were especially memorable. For the entrée, we ordered the Braised Beef Short Ribs with goat cheese mashed potatoes. The short ribs were incredibly tender and packed with flavor, while the mashed potatoes were rich and creamy. We finished with the L.A. Churro Waffle, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. The combination of cinnamon sugar, chocolate, caramel, strawberries, whipped cream, and vanilla bean ice cream made it easy to see why it's one of their most popular desserts. I recently coordinated a Pre-Show Mixer for my employer, and the experience at St. Felix exceeded expectations from start to finish. Owner John Arakaki was incredible to work with -- I shared our modest budget parameters, and he thoughtfully curated a delicious passed hors d'oeuvres menu while also reserving the perfect space for our guests to mix and mingle comfortably. The food was a huge hit with everyone, especially the fried chicken sliders and the LA Churro Waffle dessert. Since we were attending Michael Jackson The Musical at the Pantages Theatre afterward, the location was ideal -- just a short walk away. The servers were attentive, welcoming, and truly helped create a great atmosphere. One of my favorite touches was that they played Michael Jackson music throughout the event, which perfectly tied into the evening. What a delightful place to eat, drink and have fun in downtown LA! The staff and servers convey a really cool hip vibe even when you're middle-aged like me! My experience was excellent.The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server Michael was knowledgeable, attentive and super friendly. What impressed me also is the staff's integrity. I accidentally forgot something at my table and the management not only saved the item but when I contacted them, they didn't seem bothered by my request to pick it up. The item was a rapid power charger universal for many devices and any person could've easily taken it to make their phone battery life better. Guess what though? No one stole it!! It was waiting for me! This restored my faith in humankind. We were in the area and decided to pop in for happy hour, and we're pleased that we did. Although the sign out front says they open at four, they really open at 5 PM and happy hour starts right away! We enjoyed our favorite drinks and a basic but nice appetizer of chips and salsa and guac. Really nice atmosphere inside and the server helping us was friendly and helpful. BEST VENUE EVER!!! We had our wedding reception there last weekend. Our guests are still raving about it. It was absolutely perfect. The place is gorgeous, the food is amazing and the staff were incredible. We didn't want a cookie cutter reception. We wanted something much more hip, inviting and old Hollywood. I've always enjoyed coming to St Felix so recently, I decided to throw a mixer for a large group of former colleagues. The manager John was quick to respond and more than fair in our dealings. They had two big parties that evening in addition to their regular clientele (Grammy week) and I was astounded at how impeccably it all went. Our crowd had come in quick: we started talking fast and drinking fast. Before I knew it I was starving and my head was spinning. "We gotta eat! STAT! From the second we walked in we were greeted by two delightful people. Super nice from the beginning to end. We had Brussels sprouts, Malaysian skewers and a chicken Caesar wrap. I have been a big brother fan since season 1. I have not missed a season since then. I am a super fan. in fact, I can name the mother of the backdoor plan, which was originally coined as the six finger plan. I was in college during that time. So this review will be unique since I have visited Saint Felix exactly two times-- last year, when houseguests went to an after party, and this year where former houseguests went to a premiere party of the Amazing Race. And truth be told, it was an amazing time for it allowed me to know one of my favorite show, not just as a devoted viewer but as a intentional fan. I will not place photo's from the experience, as my spirit and face are dimmed next to minor reality television celebrities. Last year, I mustered all the courage to tap a big brother house guest, that loves to swim, and has gold to prove it, on the back. He turned around, hunched over a bit and made eye contact with me. He had this genuine smile that arrested my attention. I felt my mouth agape. I felt my eyes scanning his visage. I could not speak. I offered to buy him a shot. He said that he could pay for his own. I insisted. I asked fellow patrons to capture the moment in video. It was a small moment for him, and for me, but for me, it was a moment where I met a champion that I admired. In the same night, I tapped another houseguest, with the same name as the first one, and when I asked if he could take a shot with me, he said hell yeah, with body movement that underscore his response as legit. Those simple memories are made because this bar hosted television reality parties. On my most recent attendance, I asked a pair if I could sit on their round table that fitted at least six. I asked one if I could, he shrugged and looked at the other. The next one said, "we wanted to sit by ourselves." So you have to deal with bar stubbornness and etiquette fails in this bar, just like other bars. There was second round table and the pair there did let us share their table. It became my comfort zone, now I had a place to decide my next steps in comfort and space. So I need to basically find my comfort zone first to decide how I was going to step out of it. I met another houseguest. She was wearing a blue dress, royal in its hue. She was a former houseguest, who was now running the amazing race with her new beau. She was famous on Big Brother for fearing that others conspired against her. She offered to take a picture of her. I was never a big fan of hers but still it was great to be in her presence--- why for a moment I felt the light and camera glow of Hollywood. And for someone who is too stout and short, to claim the spotlight, her light felt warm and strange but still familiar. St. Felix has televsion around the joint and also a back patio. Last year, I met a houseguest whose named after a NY Burrough. She explained that most of the decision of houseguests were their own, producers simply present them with different paths of consideration. She helped me understand that I should not fret as a fan, the game was authentic and not scripted. I have watched the show and the emotions in the show are real. Like one time, someone was voted out, another tried to explain why, and the guy pushed him aside, just a little bit not to be violent but I definetely saw the real frustration in the minor, get out of my way moment. That is not scripted television that is emotion exposed. I am hoping that big brother fan reads this review and understand that houseguests was post eviction and in the wild of a bar behave like people who participated in a reality television game, not like, reality tv stars in the real world. I approached a season 27 competitor and he acted confused when I tapped him in the shoulder. He had not yet how to engage with a fan that approached him just to say hi. I approached a more seasoned player and he engaged with me with warmth and attention. I recounted to him a moment in his series that he was directly involved in, which involved another nephew's contestant. As a viewer, I told him, that was good tv. As I shared that he laughed and pounded the table with his fist, lightly, to indicate humor. He thanked me for saying hi. That is the type of houseguest-fan interaction that I appreciate. But then a houseguest kind of like went over the top with it! About two or three seasons ago, a new player was introduced that was awesome to see. He won immunity. And most people, when they win immunity, they use it on themselves, exceptions have happened but only when blood relatives are involved. In this case, the winner of immunity used it on an enemy. The producers did a fantastic job because I never saw it coming-- my mouth was agape. He made a move for the history book, and to a fan like me, that was a kiss. And what was great about it, I communicated a shorter version of this message to him, and he gave me a hug that made me feel seen, and also gave me just a small peck on my cheek! Wow! Where do I begin! It was my partners 50th Birthday and I wanted to do something very special for him. He is a huge Peaky Blinders Fan, so I went with that theme. On our first visit, we were seated right away, which was great. The restaurant is quite dark inside, and if the menus hadn't been accessible via a QR code, I would've had to use my phone's flashlight to read them. The service was average, and while the food was good, we only shared appetizers. The chicken sliders were definitely the highlight for me. However, the bill came to nearly $200 for the three of us, which felt steep, especially with canned non-alcoholic beer priced at $10. The bathrooms were outdated and only had hand dryers, which I dislike since it means touching the door afterward. With so many other options in the area, I probably wouldn't return. I very rarely write reviews, but Saint Felix deserves one. The owner and general manager go above and beyond, as does the rest of their staff. Everything is delicious - the drinks are both fun and tasty. As an event planner, I've hosted multiple events there and it's been a such a pleasure working with them each time. Our guests have always been happy, the bartenders are fast and thorough, and when you're hosting a party with a large crowd, there's not more you can ask for! The ambiance is fun with a great vibe. Been coming to St. Felix for years obsessed with their Short Rib entree Happy hour and the overall aesthetic and vibe. I decided to host my company party here and rented out the Powder Room and it was absolutely the most perfect space. Intimate and private but plenty of space. They let us play our own curated playlist. The staff was phenomenal and so friendly. They tray passed such a variety of delicious dishes including vegan options that were so tasty. I have rented out other local spaces for the past 15 years and hands down I couldn't have been happier with the whole experience from start to finish they provided. I called and made a reservation a week or so beforehand as we had about 20-25 people, and they responded right away to set aside a table for us. I came with some friends and we really liked this place. It has a rustic, 80s eclectic New Orleans feel to it. Weird description I know but that's how I see it. There are booths, tables, and what looks like a really cool private room in the back. The service was very friendly and efficient, but it also wasn't busy yet. They have happy hour from 4-8 which was lucky for us. I really enjoyed the Country Bear Lemonade. It was so refreshing. Friend had a margarita which used an agave based tequila giving it a slight vanilla flavor which was pretty tasty. All the food items were great. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries, house cut chips, and the hot dog. Sooo good. And the chips come with a sour cream onion dip which made it extra happy. They also offer a few vegan/vegetarian items. Another friend really enjoyed the vegan tacos. We will definitely return. read more
