So this review is specifically for the reception and staff and how they handled my search for a new dentist. TL;DR They are great and so nice...(I'm referring to you Virginia!) and even thought I ultimately didn't use them for now... she was super willing to take the time and educate me on the way they do things and adjust to my needs to help me get the support I needed. I had just moved back to the Silicon Valley area and was looking for a new home for my teeth and took my time with it until I had cracked a molar the other night while eating kettle corn... (thought I was chompin' down on a particularly hard kernel...nope...it was a piece of my cracked tooth...anyway...I digress) The urgency of my quest for a new dentist was moved up due to the change of my internal oral landscape and though I considered flying back down to SoCal to see the dentist I love and knows me well, I figured it'd be a good idea to find a comparable one up here. I mean...there's SO MANY dentists up here right? How hard could it be to find a good one that CARES about your well-being whether or not you are already a patient or not? Boy was I wrong... One call after another, I was either dealing with receptionists that were either rude...or lacked any level of sympathy or compassion for my circumstances... or simply being NICE on the phone! There was even one instance where I asked if they carried my dental discount service coverage and they said "No...we don't do that" and then literally hung up on me! WOW. I had just about given up looking for a dentist up here in Silli Valley until today where I thought, "well...et me just try one more day"... And that's when I was able to connect with Virginia. She was helpful, and even when she didn't know the answer, she said that she would look into it and ask about it for me. Very honest, which I appreciate more than a made up answer! She was sympathetic to my cracked tooth needs and found the closest date they had to offer and the quickest way to get me in. I'm all about customer support and service experience and even though I ended up not being a new patient, she took the time to educate me a little about their philosophies and values and even a little about the longevity of their client base. That's really important to me. Unfortunately, they stopped supporting the Careington Dental Discount Network that I'm a part of and that ultimately (and sadly) was the deal-breaker that kept me from going in. But it was the humanistic approach and compassion that Virginia so generously provided that inspired me to leave this review despite not having had a chance to experience, what I suspect would have been great, the actual dental service from the rest of the team there. It's not easy to find a dentist these days. Thanks to a fellow yelper (Hi Ellen!) who knew I was looking for someone, I was able to find Dr. May Yoneyama here at Dental Dimensions. I needed a routine cleaning and some fillings done. Coming here was easy and *almost* pleasurable. I say *almost* because in reality, who really likes to go to the dentist? It's uncomfortable to say the least and there are a million things that I would rather do than lay on a bed hearing the sound of a drill in my mouth along with getting squirted, poked and prodded at. I'm sure all of you can relate. But let's get to the good stuff shall we? Dr. May was super sweet from the beginning. Her personality is warm, friendly and upbeat and she walks you through everything she's doing to make you feel at ease and comfy as can be. But here's the best part.. When it came time to inject me with anesthesia for my fillings, I didn't feel a thing. She had this technique where she wiggled around my lip as she was inserting the needle. It made it so that I didn't even feel the normal pinch that I usually feel with other dentists who have injected me. It was magic. I almost wanted to give her a high-five when it was done. Dr. May Yoneyama talked me through the entire procedure while doing my fillings and made the time pass as quickly as it could given that they usually take over an hour depending on your case. Her bedside manner makes you feel like you're sitting next to a friend rather than your doctor and in the dentist world, that is *huge*. She is a true gem and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a new dentist. read more

Dr. May has been a great dentist for me! She's extremely friendly and patient. I've had issues going to the dentist since I was a little kid. It's never something I look forward to. I gag very easily, so it's always a little uncomfortable, especially during x-rays. Turns out Dr. May has the same struggles, so she's totally understandable. Her and Rachel were able to do a ninja-style filling on me once, I think I was in the chair for no more than 15 mins. They were in and out and it was totally pain free! I was so happy Dr. May was able to remove one of my old silver fillings and replace it with a color that matches my teeth. It did not hurt at all and it looks so much better now! The front desk staff is incredibly friendly as well. Very nice and seems to genuinely care and always asks how I'm doing. Would definitely recommend going to see Dr. May and team. read more

First of all, Both the dentist are at top of their game. -They saved my teeth when other dentists turned us down and asked us to simply remove the teeth. -Other dentists have complimented on how well the work was done. -During the weekend, we had an emergency and the dentists came to the clinic to take care of my child. -procedures are done with so much care that there is no pain at all. Dr Shetty is a Knowledgeable, Professional , Acute, Confident, Meticulous and Compassionate Dentist There was a small abscess suddenly popped up on my gum in early 2017. Other dentists who assessed that I may had a fractured tooth, given the history such that I am a teeth grinder since my childhood. However, there were no dentists prior visiting Dr. Shetty were able to confirm with an absolute certainty that is the case. The abscess just would not go away after two root canals. I just did not wish to blindly go for an implant without a fight. I normally would not take doctor's findings or diagnosis without proofs. Thus, my further research has led me to Dr. Shetty and Dr. Bhatia, who is his wonderful and compassionate wife. They are both very patient and great listeners to my detailed status report on the abscess and the troubled tooth. When the same question is brought up during the visit, how he he can prove that that tooth was fractured. Dr. Shetty offered me the 3-dimensional x-ray of the tooth. By the way, the 3 dimensional x-ray equipment is not offered any other dentist's offices. The x-ray images do show a thick dark crack line at the end of the tooth. This is the kind of proof I needed for making a decision on the next move to fix the abscess. Dr. Shetty had patiently answered all questions that I had for the implant procedure. He brought out the images and charts to make the points clear during the visit. The implant was a success, Dr. Shetty monitored my status very closely for the first couple of weeks after the implant. He even answered my email questions, which is unheard of with other dentists that I went through. I salute Dr. Shetty, who is not only my doctor, but also my hero and inspiration in life. "Desperation" caused me to find this dentistry on line and the yelp reviews helped me take the plunge to check them out. Thanks Yelpers - you were definitely right about the 5 STARS! I had a bad painful infection on my cracked premolar and in desperation, I walked in, explained my situation and tried to bring in my appointment by a day. Instead of blowing me off (like a few clinics did), Olivia understood my situation and managed to squeeze me in for a quick consult with Dr Shetty. Dr Shetty took a look at my tooth, explained what was happening, and highly recommended I have the tooth removed. Busy as they were, they did not punt the situation to the next day, or to go find another dentist who is free, they found time later in the day actually do the procedure. That's customer care! I do not hate dentists, but I do hate having to visit dental offices to have dental work done - somehow the thought of and the actual action of having my mouth probed with no control plus the occasional sharp agonizing pain when a nerve is hit, these are the dreams of my nightmares. I guess I will never make a good spy (especially when caught!) But I digress - what I meant to say was that Dr Shetty and his team makes the visit, while not Disneyland-like, much more palatable by their care, compassion and friendliness. They actually seem to enjoy their work and each other, and it reflects on their care for their patients. That to me is a very calming effect. And btw, having a netflix video playing in my ear with my eyes squeezed shut as I writhe in agony when my tooth was pulled, did actually helped distract, if only for a bit! Overall, I would say Dental Dimensions makes a dental procedure a lot less painful, definitely on the mental and emotional side - the physical pain, another story - beyond novocaine not much more anyone can do! my primary care dentist referred me to this office to have an extraction and implant done on a troubled tooth. i was able to get an appt pretty quickly and told that i'd be treated by dr. shetty. upon arrival, i was greeted warmly by nina who had paperwork for me to fill out. she took my insurance information and immediately called and researched to find out how much coverage i'd have for the procedure. once it was my turn, i was again, warmly greeted by dr. shetty, who has one of these smiles that just melts your heart and puts you at ease. i don't normally say this about dentists, but his smile just won me over! i'd never had a tooth extracted before, so i was very nervous and asked a lot of questions, which dr. shetty answered with ease. during the procedure, he would periodically ask if i was ok, whether i felt any pain. his dental assistant, linda, was wonderful, as she would gently massage my arm and even my forehead during the procedure to help me relax and stay calm. she even held my hand when i was getting the 2nd, and most painful, of the anesthetic shots. i've never had this kind of personal, one-on-one care before, so this was much appreciated! when i was finished, i was given an ice pack to help reduce the swelling and detailed instructions on how to care for the site of the wound for the next few days. in short, if you've never had oral surgery before, be prepared for a soft food diet, warm salt water rinses, some swollen cheeks, and no exercising for 3-4 days. although the extraction and placement of the implant took a bit longer than i anticipated, dr. shetty did a great job and i am now healing very well without any issues. if i ever had to get a tooth extracted again, i would definitely come back to see dr. shetty and would highly recommend him to all. read more

Dr. Shetty and his staff are extremely friendly and very professional. I had a lot of fillings replaced by Dr. Shetty and he is very gentle and I felt no pain. Since I started going to him I have had some major things happen. At 41 I had open heart surgery and a month later a severe stroke that left me paralyzed on the right side and unable to speak for some time. I went through two + years of intense therapy and daily life for me was quite, quite hard. Going to the dentist during this time period was easy because Dr. Shetty and his staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Surprisingly going to doctors during this time I found some people were rude and almost made fun of me in front of me because they figured I wasn't aware of much. I couldn't say anything but that doesn't mean I wasn't fully aware of their comments and very hurt by their cruel behavior. Dr. Shetty's office they were completely kind and caring, considerate and genuinely happy I was OK. Each time I have visited since I have been better and better and their joy at my appearance makes me feel wonderful. I highly recommend them. read more

Dr. Shetty & Dr. K are really good. Dr. Shetty does the grown ups, and Dr. K takes care of the kids. I hadn't been to the dentist for a long time, so it took a lot of work to get me back up to speed. Dr. Shetty and Maria (really friendly office manager) worked with me and my insurance to get it done in the manner most affordable to me. I also really like how he always comes to say hello, shakes my hand, and inquires about my well being. He is a nice guy. My kids like going to the dentist. Why in the world doesn't this place have more reviews? Amazing! It had been 3 years (I believe) since I had seen a dentist and I dreaded going to another one. I always had fillings done and hated most of the dentists I had ever gone to. I always felt uncomfortable in their offices. The last dentist I went to was at Northern Dental and it was truly horrid. Take the reviews and go to this dentist instead. I got in to all of my appointments on time at Dental Dimensions (rather than 1 hour after my scheduled time at Northern Dental) I took the 4 other reviews on Yelp for this place and took a leap and called them. I immediately felt comfortable with them. I had a deep cleaning with one lady (she's not on the site and I forgot to get her name) but she was great and talked with me through the whole thing. I was even laughing with her and her assistant (Nichole) throughout the procedure. She would constantly stop and ask me if I was okay. I loved it! Can you say that about a dental office? I haven't seen Dr. Shetty for very long yet (I will soon for some fillings) but the rest of the staff is amazing. I'll try to break it down for you :-) Judy is happy, energetic and just feels good to be around :-) I liked her personality from the get go on the phone. Maria (front desk) AMAZING! She is so friendly and really makes you feel super comfortable. I brought my 2year old in for his first "checkup" and everyone, including Maria, were amazing with him. Dr. Shetty Very nice but only met him for 10 minutes or so after I had my cleaning. I'll be seeing him more shortly for some fillings. Nichole was very happy and easy to talk to. She did my son's first check-up and reassured me that it was okay for him to cry. She tried everything to get him to be comfortable but he just wasn't having it. I have been at this office since June 2014. The moment I went in, the girls were sweet and very welcoming. I procrastinated about finding a new dentist since I had a fear of going to the dentist because I knew that I needed some major work to be done, including orthodontics. Luckily for me, I had dual dental insurance and they made sure that a majority of my dental work would be covered by both insurances so I had minimal out of pocket expenses. All the major work with Dr. Shetty and Dr. Yonemaya was completed in about 10 visits from June to Dec. This work included filings, root canals, crowns, and tooth extractions. Although some of the procedures were a little more complex for my situation, they always made sure I was comfortable and had minimal pain. Would definitely recommend this office! Looking forward to my next visit to show my improvement since I have had the braces on. read more

Linda Silva, held my hand while i had the goo stuff in my mouth, we always think we are chocking even though we are not, and she made it so much better. I love it here. The service is out of this world. I went in on an emergency appointment for my flipper(removable tooth). The tooth had fallen off. And when I went in I assumed that they were going to make me a new one but they were actually going to fix the one I have because it's was more economical. But I left the flipper at home :( and the amazing staff let me quickly go home (15 min) and let me keep my appointment. And on top of the they did my cleaning and X-rays. All in under 45 min. But not only were they quick they were detailed in there work. Also they had my flipper ready the same day. They are the best and they put their patience first. read more

I have been a patient at The Dental Dimensions since Dr Shetty opened the practice about ten years ago, and have had nothing but good experiences. The practice actually existed before that, and I was a patient there before the previous owner retired. And there's no comparison between what it was like before and after Dr Shetty took over. He immediately updated all of the equipment, including all-digital charting and X-rays and chair-side monitors. He does only modern composite fillings, and he explained why they're better than the classic metal ones (it's not just cosmetic, by the way). The office has recently added a panoramic X-ray machine so I don't have to go elsewhere when those are needed (or have the doctor work blind). In addition to the prior dentist at The Dental Dimensions, I've had about about five other dentists in my 50 years, and Dr Shetty and his associates and staff are noticeably better than any of them. I always have complete confidence in the dental advice I get there and never feel like I'm being sold unnecessary procedures; the whole experience is one of competence, respect, and friendliness. I have had regular cleanings and exams and quite a few fillings from Dr Shetty's team. I've also been referred out for some surgical extractions and periodontal surgery. read more

I was in a huge hurry to get my daughter enrolled in a special Kindergarten program. The district required an oral evaluation and exam. I called several dentists offices, that were booked or would not take new patients. But, when I called Dental Dimensions, the receptionist, was SO helpful and understanding.
