The Il Barca with hot giardiniera is one of the best sandwiches I have had! This Depot is the GOAT for subs in South Haven.

One of our favorite spots, worth the drive from Grand Rapids every time. Food is amazing and the people are nice, the depot hits.

Yum! So glad we found this hidden gem. The store had tons of wine, beer and spirits to chose from, plus a random splattering of useful odds and ends. Love the sandwich counter. The girls at the counter lead me right by suggesting the #15 (turkey, roast beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a delicious sub roll) toasted but with the insides cold. Great suggestion!! It was fresh, flavorful and delish! We also tried the #22 (grilled chicken club on a bagel). It was huge with perfectly crisp bacon, grilled chicken, cream cheese, lettuce, and tomato all on a toasted everything bagel). Holy cow! Amazing! We stopped in for some sandwiches for lunch and were so glad we did!! I had the whole groups orders ready and then saw they had a rueben as a special and all but one person changed to that, haha. They were great! So it was a good move! The liquor store component was extensive as well! I was surprised at all the stuff they had. Lots of things I like too. I also liked all the little extras, chips, fancy breads, treats, etc. You could spend a lot of time just exploring the place! The sandwiches were top notch! High prices on any of the alcohol however they have better quality stuff there is a decent selection of craft beer and regular beer and wine and apparently they make homemade subs that I've heard were pretty good the only downside to this location is they don't have a public bathroom because apparently they caught people doing stuff in it that weren't allowed if they had a public bathroom I would probably spend more money here because I would feel like it's a comfortable space to go if I need to use the bathroom and buy some beer but people always have to ruin it for the rest of us sometimes they have craft pop read more

We had a lovely lunch here with our kids. The chicken tenders are made with grilled chicken and very tasty. Adults loved the buffalo chicken sandwich. As I said before, in my past life I had a desk, actually the same desk for 37 years, that I used to jokingly say that my center drawer had inside it one of every thing in the world. This establishment reminds me of that drawer. The first time I walked in I was overwhelmed by the options - there was so much product, from wine to liquor to beer to deli food (pastas, salads, sandwiches). Now, even though we have stopped by at least ten times this year so far, we walk in and we stand there stunned. We have never walked out with the same things, not because anything was unsatisfactory, but because something else caught our eyes and we decided to go in a different direction than we had planned. The parking lot is spacious and the setting is cute (and I had only recently noticed the cabooses nearby as vacation rentals). My only caveat is that the prices can be high, but it's a beach community that relies on tourist dollars so we shrug that off. read more

Love this place but they have new people making sandwiches in the deli. It's not the same. No attention to detail, they don't wear gloves and no hair nets. They don't pay attention to detail, the sandwiches are sloppy and not done right.... c'mon John, get some good people back there. They always forget the pickle and forget the nauo. :( read more

The Yelp app directed me here for local beer. I was hoping to find a make-your-own-sixpack option. At first I was disappointed, because the entire first two coolers were horrid macros and the usual sleepy suspects of the micro and import scenes. But then I turned a corner and found that about 95% of their far-back aisle is all Michigan stuff--including a make-your-own option! I was in heaven among familiar titles such as New Holland, Bell's, and Arcadia, as well as others of which I'd never heard, such as Arbor, Atwater, Saugatuck, Short's, Keweenaw, and Paw Paw. In fact, I had to work hard to limit myself to only one six-pack. First prize was a tie between New Holland Monkey King, Atwater Purple Gang Pilsner, and Arcadia Whitsun Ale. read more

Their selection of craft beers from around the Michigan and the nation are excellent for trying new offerings. Came for lunch today and were surprised at where this place was. As it turns out we had been driving by it many times without realizing! Tucked away behind the little red train car is a great place to grab a bite. First of all they carry a large amount of liquor and beers with amazing variety. The deli chalkboard tells all the sandwiches and wraps they make. We chose a variety of sandwiches and I asked to have my "sandwich" as a salad to save carbs. What a gem The Depot is for people staying in South Haven. Great wine, liquor, and beer selection. They let you make your own pack of beer, whether you want one, two, six, seven...price per bottle is 1/6 of a six pack. Great deli with a lot of sandwiches made to order, excellent potato salad made in house along with pasta salad. Super friendly people, too. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location. Highly recommended! read more
