The customer service here was very nice and they checked up on each table many times! I've been to the Popping Yolk in Alhambra but this was my first time dining at the Ontario location. My husband and I arrived at 8 AM and there was plenty of parking and no line. You order first, and take your number to any table you want. The girls working in the morning were super sweet and helpful. The interior is beautiful inside but we decided to eat outside because there was a nice breeze. The heat will be upon us in a couple hours so wanted to take advantage . However, when our food starting coming out, I noticed I was getting bit by mosquitoes. I got 3 bites and my husband did as well. They were so nice to help us move to an inside table. Anyway, on to the food. My husband got the egg salad chicken sandwich and I got the kimchi chicken Benedict. We also shared French toast. They are always welcoming, patient when ordering, and helpful. They are consistently walking around to make sure guests have refills and asking if they need anything, which I appreciate. The food is always high quality. I have been coming for quite some time now, and the dishes that stand out the most for me are the benedicts (avocado and classic are my favorite), the French toast (the ube and banana toffee are amazing), and the pancakes (the banana nutella is so good). There were a few mishaps during my visit here, i ordered a fried chicken egg sandwich but was only given an egg sandwich, and the waiter put in the order wrong at the register so I wasn't able to prove I actually ordered one with chicken. But that's okay because they only charged me for what i received. We had a bigger group and our food came out almost 30 minutes apart and the food that came out first just got cold because we were waiting for everyone's food to eat. The wait staff did notice this issue and compensated us with some complimentary drinks, I am grateful for that! A creamy latte topped with Oreo "dirt" and served with a tiny sprout, making it look just like a real potted plant. It tasted just as good as it looked! Egg Coffee was another first for me! It's made by whipping egg yolks with sugar until they're light and frothy before pouring coffee over the mixture, creating a rich, smooth, custard-like coffee that's unlike anything I've had before. A huge thank you to Shawn for being so welcoming! He gave us amazing recommendations, was incredibly kind, and made our first visit even more enjoyable. Just tried Popping Yolk and yeah... I'll be back. From the second we walked in, the vibe felt right. Friendly greeting at the door, music playing but not blasting, and the place just had good energy. It's big too. Tons of seating. I'd guess easily 100 people or more and it still didn't feel cramped. They've got indoor seating plus a covered outdoor patio, which is perfect when you want fresh air without baking in the sun. The menu is solid. Lots of options, not one of those places where you're stuck choosing between the same five breakfast combos. I went with the original Eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint. Eggs were perfectly poached, sauce was on point, and everything tasted fresh. I also had the freshly squeezed orange juice and you can absolutely tell the difference. Not from a carton. Real deal. Prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly the quality matches it. I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks and actually enjoy what I'm eating. A side of scrambled eggs which he did not care for at all. I myself got the classic breakfast. Asked to substitute the salad for all potatoes and they were soooo good, perfectly crispy. Asked for over medium eggs but they seemed over hard compared to other over medium eggs I've had. Did all bacon and shared with my toddler, very good and crispy. I drove 40 minutes to have my birthday breakfast here with my mom and we were blown away by the food, content with the service, and estatic about the music selection! It is Asian & American fusion breakfast I'd say. For one of my visits I tried the ube pancakes. It was pretty rich in terms of the ube and real filling. I haven't tried the French toast yet, but I'd probably get the ube French toast over the pancakes. Coffee here is good for a breakfast place about 4 stars. I also had the fried chicken Benedict, which was just so-so to me. It tasted more like a fried chicken sandwich with an egg on top and less Benedict in my opinion. I do like the setting and is really popular on the weekends especially after 10am the wait can be 30-45 min. Crowd is young typically hip crowd that frequent this place when ever I go. I didn't care for the latte it was very grainy or chalky tasting. However, the use french toast is what stile the show, very flavorful, nice crunch on the toast. Would definitely order again. The kimchi Benedict cane with fried chicken and I think it was so type of sauce on it. I should have ordered the muffin well done because the kimchi made it very soggy. There wasn't hollandaise sauce on both Benedict because when I tasted it with the one that had it it balanced all the flavors out. It was good but probably wouldn't order again.
