I came her tonight( feb. 16, 2019) with some friends. I paid for my male friend and I which can out to $40. May I remind you lady's are $15 and gentleman pay $20 each. THEY CHARGED ME $40 for the TWO of use because I wore and COLLARD SHIRT and PANTS. I DO NOT IDENTIFY MYSELF A MALE! But I was charged like one. I heard sketchy info about this place through some of the uber drivers and locals at restaurants, but they said it would be cool for girls. The ratio of men to women was way off. There were more men than girls so you can imagine what it looked like. I used my Yelp check in to get in for free since they were charging after a certain time. I guess if you know someone you can by pass all of this but I'm on vacation and don't know anyone. My friend and I ordered drinks and the minimum for cards is $30 so we got shots and beers. The space was big and it wasn't too crowded when we got there but it was old and not that nice. The crowd varied from ages 21-probably 50. Im not exaggerating either lol there was an older man getting his groove on which was cool. The dj that night either didn't know what he was doing or it was his first time djing or something. He played every song for like 20-25 seconds and then he would change it to something opposite. So people looked kind of funny dancing. Mixing was just terrible. We decided to leave because we were not having fun or a good time. I would not come back and I would not recommend either. We left to Addiction. See my review for that. read more

This review is only related to their bar service and I would give them -100 Star if I could. while I was enjoying myself at the bar, sipping some at the time and ignoring all the guys, I saw a lot of young kids being served when they are already drunk and shouldn't be served anymore. If you are going there make sure you have a friend with you since some of the bartenders might take your money and send you to hospital. It was a disappointing experience and hope management does something about it. read more

I have gotten bottle service at every night club in Hawaii and I personally love the service at District. The club uses spouts first of all so they aren't just pouring the alcohol out quickly so you get your money's worth each time a drink is made. The girls provide excellent service. The Djs are awesome and Friday they have GoGo dancers which is cool! Kinda like a Vegas vibe. Staff is great! Came here on a Friday night with a group of 4 girls and 2 guys.. Got there right around 11 pm where there was no line and used the awesome free check in via Yelp! All we had to do was check and show the cashier up at front and she let us go through (after stamping our wrist). No cover, yay! Atmosphere upon entering the club was not dead, but just getting started! There's was a small crowd, but I could tell from how many people I saw rolling in after us that it was about to get busy. Music was R&B/hip-hop which is what I loved and needed since we were about to hit up Ginza (EDM central) right after. Feeling the music, friends and I decided to grab drinks and realized the drink specials end at 11 :(( we were a couple minutes late so no deals :( so go in before 11pm if you wanna make it for the drink specials! Ended buying an AMF ($10) and I would say the bartender was very friendly, I didn't get her name, but a friend of I was especially into her (she was pretty as well!). Throughout the night, as my vision got my blurry and the music got more easy to dance to, I noticed at one point that the dance floor was packed! A though the dance floor was packed, the area space around the bars was still very spacious and it was easy to maneuver around to go to the bathroom... Which is another thing! Ladies bathroom was white (and omg I'm thinking about Bar7s old bathrooms YUCK) and I'm glad the district has atleast kept there bathrooms clean and functional! There are 3 stalls and an attendee up front to help you with all your hand washing needs. Drunk and feeling very friendly, I tipped the attendee and she seemed very nice :) not sure if really nice or just happy I tipped, but she was nice. Didn't notice anything around her tho ( I know some other places with attendees offer sweets like candy but I'm not sure if she had any). Going through the night my experience at the district was awesome! Although it was quite small, it was a definite upgrade from Bar 7 and they seem to have very good danceable music, and not the same old everytime. Only reason I give 3 stars is because my group and I got kicked out without any explanation! Security literally said 'follow me' flashing his lights, and not wanting to make a scene, I just followed. And then he just left us outside, leaving us wondering wtf happened when we were actively buying drinks and tipping the bartenders. Trying to get back in, they denied us entry so we ended up just cabbing it to to Ginza. Overall, the district was actually a pretty good drunk experience and I'll try to get here next time pref before 11. read more

There's so many great clubs in CA that I'll try not to be biased on this one. My boyfriend and I overheard on the radio about this club. Free before 11pm on a Friday. We arrive little after 11 and no mercy given to us. We still had to pay cover. But besides that, apparently dress code for guys was a collared shirt. So we payed an additional $20. On a side note, line was pretty disorganized. A check ID line that was on the opposite of the stamp line, and then to the ticket lady. Bouncers were rude. And I thought SF had rude ones. Before getting in, I'm expecting a big crowd. Afterall, it got hella hype on the radio. We get in, and there's LITERALLY only 15 people at the max? And no, I wasn't drunk. Maybe I should've took pictures to prove it. This was the saddest club I've seen at 11ish pm. So trippy because the bouncer made it seem like such a big deal for a "dress code" when there was no one to care. My guess was he was thirsty for money. One of our biggest let down in Honolulu. Alright, I'm not sure why this place isn't getting the greatest rep because I see potential! Hawaii night clubs are...well, not the greatest. We do have some awesome bars and hidden gems; but if you want anything near mainland clubbing status, locals and tourist won't find that here. This is where the District nightclub is trying to set the standard. What was once hole in the wall Bar 7, I must say they did an entire 360 with the interior. 4 bars, pristine bathrooms, a few VIP tables, awesome light fixture installments for those psychedelic light shows. This place really has great potential. The only down side I would have to say is, 1) Parking. Having the republic located upstairs, and a bunch of restaurants around the area, one will find parking without a cost nearly impossible. They did, however, have a $10 valet service. 2. The drinks are $$$, unless you want to pay a minimum of $30 on your card, I suggest pre-gaming the old fashion way, 3. The crowd, or lack there of. Since the District marketed themselves originally as a 23+ crowd, (what is a great concept but did not work out in their favor because they are now officially 21+) So what about the crowd? The people here dress classy, it does not feel raunchy, if anything we have definitely graduated from Zanzibar days and kissed ghetto bar 7 goodbye with a hair flip. Yet the classy-ness was not enough to fill a dance floor - up until around 12:30-1pm were the party finally got started. Though it wasn't packed, at least I left without feeling sticky, my lashes in tacked, and my wallet full (because I, like most of my savvy friends got on the guest list and pre-gammed before entering! - and we scored with street parking near taste tea!) There was a lot of hype surrounding Honolulu's newest night club, and I'm sad to say it didn't really live up to it. We planned to head down on a Saturday, so my boyfriend Jake sent a list of names in our party to the guest list email on Friday morning. Come Saturday night, he still hadn't received a confirmation email. We showed up to the club around 11pm still not sure if we were on the guest list -- and it turns out we weren't. Luckily the woman checking everyone in was pretty understanding after Jake showed her the email he sent, so we got in cover free. Hopefully they get kinks like these worked out sooner rather than later. The first thing you see when you walk in is a glass wall showcasing scantily clad women lounging on furniture. I describe this to people and they say it sounds like Vegas -- but really, it's just awkward. They weren't dancing or anything -- instead they were just on their phones... The inside is a big upgrade from the old Bar 7. The decor is more modern with a decent-sized dance floor, plus three different bars around the room. There's also plenty of room to dance outside the dance floor if you don't want to get stuck in the middle of the crowd. I was happy we didn't splurge for bottle service because the sections looked tiny and crammed right up next to the dance floor... I only saw one bench for a large party! MUSIC: I was afraid it was going to be all EDM all the time, but I was happy to hear at least *some* good ol' hip-hop club songs that I liked. However the selection definitely could have been better, as I found myself complaining throughout the night. DRINKS: Be ready to shell out $9 or $10 for pretty much any drink you order. You're thinking, "that's pretty average for a club," right? Well I did too, until I saw them pouring my drink in a tiny plastic cup. The prices are just insane for what you get. GO TO INFERNO WOOD FIRE PIZZA: Everything is better if you go through the door that leads to the old V Lounge. There you'll find tall tables and booths -- a great place to rest your dancing shoes without paying the price for bottle service. Here they give bigger drinks that are much more worthy of your $10. Get your drink on here, then head back out to the dance floor! You can also come in here to use their bathroom. There's only one stall, but there won't be a massive snaking line to deal with like if you were to use the club's restrooms. Honestly, I probably won't be back. It's conveniently located in town near Ala Moana and all, but the drink situation really turned me off -- it's not worth it at all. read more

Meh. All hype, not much talk to back it up. I'll give them credit for fixing up the old Bar Seven and restoring the insides, because the decor and decorations are pretty nice and modern, but there are just a couple of issues I have with the place. First off, I emailed The District to be on guest list for Saturday on Friday morning. Didn't get a confirmation email, so when we got there, we weren't on the list, but I showed the girl the email I sent so she let us in. Not sure if there's a cover, or how much it is, but we got there a little after they opened so we didn't have to pay a cover. BTW, it's a "23 & over" club. Doesn't make sense to me, to exclude the 21 & 22 year olds; they're the ones who are going to want to go clubbing and spend money. I know The District is trying to set a new standard in nightlife or whatever, but I'm not buying it. When we walked in, there were about four girls inside of a glass box with furniture. It was bizarre. They weren't really doing anything, just sitting around with their phones out. It was quite strange. Like I said earlier, I like their decor and what they've done with the place, and how they have three different bars to get drinks from. From the looks of it, the bottle service sections right outside the dance floor were small. There was one party with maybe 8 people, and there was one bench seat, and they just looked super cramped in there. However, it looked like there was another VIP section that was a little more spacious behind the DJ booth. Something that really cut the stars down on my review were the drinks. The cups are tiny, and they charge $9 for a well drink. $9 for maybe a 6 oz drink! ALSO, I ordered a screwdriver from one of the bartenders, and I saw her top off my drink with water. Right in front of my face!! I was super blown away by that, not like I was THAT drunk!! They also have a $30 minimum for credit cards. Insane. I guess they figure: With $9 drinks, the customer can't only buy 3 because it would only come out to $27, so they have to buy 4 drinks and spend $36 just to make the minimum. Nuts. I don't know if it was because of the weather this weekend, but it got really hot inside too. There's some fans placed sporadically on the ceiling, so we spent most of the night under one of those. Maybe I'm getting old (only 24 btw), but the music played in clubs these days is crap. Too much EDM for my taste. One cool thing is that it's connected to the old V Lounge, which is now Inferno Wood Fire Pizza, so we actually went to that side for some bigger, cheaper drinks, and then went back to the club. TIP: You can be smart and use their bathroom if you don't want to wait in line! Honestly, I don't plan on ever coming back here. Sure, they put up new furniture, remodeled the place, and it's nice, but the drinks are really the killer here. It just isn't worth it. Sorry! read more

District nightclub has the cheapest drinks on the island during a night out. From 11pm-11:30pm, drinks are $5 (mixed drinks/beers) It used to be 11pm-12pm but I guess they stopped it at 11:30pm. They have 3 full bars to order from and 2 bartenders for each which makes ordering a drink faster than other clubs. If you're on the guestlist, it's free entrance until 11pm (they open at 10pm). Great music and host on Saturday nights! This is now our number one go to club with friends. When in doubt, district it out. read more

We came on a Sunday night. It was pretty dead until 11pm. Then it gets pretty filled up by 12am and by 12:30 it was pretty packed. There's no room on the dance floor to even get in. Little to no walking room in front of the bar. The music was pretty good up until I heard the DJ play Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday. That's when I left lol. Cool place to check out. It was a late Thursday night, and my friends and I were looking for a place to go to last minute. This was our second stop of the night, and it was definitely a night to remember! I feel like this is one of the best clubs in Honolulu, if you're looking for somewhere with up-to-date music (i.e. hip-hop, rap). However, I did not like the fact that the DJ kept recycling songs. The ambience in general was good though, consisting of people in their early 20s to early 30s. Even though the dance floor is not the biggest, I definitely had fun dancing in the crowd. I've been here a few times on many different occasions, and find to enjoy it most when my group of friends have our own seating area (to come and go). The last time I was here (for a bachelorette party), we sat right behind the DJ and got bottle service. It was pretty fun. If you decide to buy drinks from the bar, bring cash. If you are looking for somewhere to go at 1am or 2am when all of the Waikiki bars close, this is your spot. Usually some pretty good early 2010s rap music which is fun to dance to. My complaint is that the crowd is pretty young. I would guess the majority of people are 20-22 years old. Pretty nice club. The atmosphere was good, & they played some pretty good music, but towards the end they started playing throwback music (still good). The only thing that was really irritating was the bartender. It was an asian guy & he was seriously so rude. My friend asked him to make the same drink another guy had just ordered & he just shrugged and walked to another person. Came up to the bar myself a couple times & stood there for waiting for him to take my drink order and he knowingly was ignoring me. I was literally standing in front of the register and he kept looking at me and I kept telling him what I wanted and he kept taking orders from other people around me. He finally took my order ONLY because some guy was like "dude why do you keep skipping her? She's been standing here longer than I have." It was really frustrating and at that point I didn't even care to tip him because he was so rude. As for dress codes here, I saw a lot of girls wearing dresses & heels, but they don't really care what girls wear. For guys, a lot of them were wearing a nice button down shirt or polo shirt. I saw a couple of guys wearing like jeans & jean jacket. Don't forget to do a check-in right before you get in so that way you can get a free-entry, otherwise the charge is $15-$20 or something. read more
